Imperial Army Trooper - Andor - CRL Discussion

Forgive me if I misunderstood something, but I was under the impression that Aldhani was shot *after* Ferrix. The Ferrix troopers having the shins, which had been too busted by the time Aldhani came around. https://www.fanthatracks.com/interviews/tony-gilroy-on-star-wars-andor-being-shot-out-of-sequence-we-shot-out-everything-in-ferrix-first/ I'll dig through the 4k of the episodes later on too, just so I can double check what's seen on screen. Do some pixel peeking I think relying on set experience is great, but it shouldn't be our only thing to look at, right? Ultimately, I think it's fair to say that this "orange peel" texture should not be mandatory either way. -

I can see that be a very plausible answer! There is just one question that springs to my mind: I was under the impression that most "new era" productions use Urethane Castings for armor and gear? Can something like that even happen with a pressure casting? Either way, I agree, this does not seem to align with the other helmets we've seen and for now we should probably ignore it. If a new style of trooper with this armor shows up, we'll be able to go from there -

I personally doubt the texture was there on the Aldhani troopers too, but I figured it'd be best to ask Maybe it just flew under the radar. -

This picture was posted by Season 2 director Janus Metz, so consider this a minor spoiler. However, there is something I found interesting: It looks like the Army helmet has a rougher texture. Is this something new for this Season 2 photo? Or is this something that we might not have considered before that's always been there? @fb501 Do you maybe have any insight on this? -

Yep! The question is just in which order scenes were filmed. IIRC everything on Ferrix was filmed first, as far as outdoors stuff goes. Where the ISB scenes fit in the production timeline, I do not know. Where the boxes silver, gray, and then silver again? First dark and then silver? I think unless somebody gets a shooting schedule, just a point to speculate over -

You know, that's a really good question! Here's my take on it: Gorn has the pill, Partagaz has the pill. While they are *not* the Aldhani Trooper costumes, I think it's fair to presume they use the same belt boxes, since there is so much parts reuse on the Aldhani costumes as it is. Partagaz's belt boxes have darker chipping on their edges, which could be a good indicator of them being painted. This is a photo of Taramyn's belt box: It's not super easy to see due to the low lighting conditions, but I think it's fair too say you can make out a dark spot there that could well be pill shaped I've not been able to find anything clearer than that, sorry! -

I really like this color! Not too green, not too brown -

I thought that's what I had expressed a couple of posts back, but I suppose I could have been clearer. Sorry about that! -

I don't think adding this line makes a lot of sense, considering it's the exact same type of stock used on the Mudtrooper E-10. It's a different Buttpad from the Death Trooper's E-11D, but since that weapon is effectively so different, I don't think it'd make much sense to add it as a point of comparison. The Range Trooper E-10R also has the same style of buttpad as the E-10.5 or the E-10. All the same configurations really. Example: Note how the bust from 2020 even has the same greeblie on the back of the stock? "The buttstock matches the size and shape of those seen on screen" might as well be a Level 1 line. The comparison should be deleted imo. -

Since the E-10 and E-11 stock pads have the greeblie and no ribbing on it, you'd probably need a custom butt pad anyway, so I don't think it'd be too much of an issue. This is very much a difference in the real piece, but since we gotta change it up for Star Wars anyway, I don't think it'll matter too much. -

Based on this, I think you'd have the front loop too far forward. You'd want it on the same side as the Magazine, between the second and third T-Track. Placement should be above/somewhat closer to the shooter than the Bayonet lug on the Sterling. You can see it when you compare to where the folding stock underneath the tube ends. -

If this is any help to you: There is a little hole in the underside of the "real" stock tube, I'd presume this is likely the easiest spot to mount a sling swivel in. -

These two lines are functionally the same. I'd suggest deleting the bottom sentence, as it is covered in the first. Otherwise, I'd say blaster is good to go -

I concur. I would like it to be an option for those who strive for "full" accuracy, but if people already have "non saga" boxes, then they should be able to use them. -

Looks good so far! Only change I would really make is that the L2 requirements on the blaster basis can be folded into one line: "Blaster shall be based on a real or replica S&T Sterling L2A1 AEG Airsoft Gun. (Folding Stock does not need to function) If an Airsoft Sterling is used, it must not function." -

Sounds good to me. As a side note: We should probably retrofit that info on the Muddy then (I know, broken record at this point ) -

Great detail questions! Here's my take on it: I don't think the source material gives us clear enough view to verify what kind of sling loop was used/how it attached. It could be a QD loop like this, or something pinned in place otherwise. I don't think we should really specify, for now. If we get better reference later, we can always update with that in mind. Good catch on the magazine! I think for me personally, this pattern falls under being part of a real/replica Sterling. Looking at other CRLs, across various detachments, it doesn't seem to be specified there either. ALSO! Before I forget it: Once we get the E-10.5 out of the way, the text for E-11 and DLT-19 options should be super easy to make. We just take the ones from the R1TK CRL and instead of flashlight, we replace any mention with a 3-slot picatinny rail. -

Sorry for the double post. I did end up using my lunch break for this. It may be ever so slightly too thorough, but I think this should do the trick? Please let me know if I forgot anything! E-10.5 Blaster · Based on a real or replica Sterling sub-machine gun, scratch-built, cast, 3D print or a modified commercial toy Stormtrooper blaster. · The Magazine is longer than Original Trilogy Blasters · A sliding Stock is mounted on the endcap of the Blaster. The retractable feature need not function. · A Sling may be attached on one or two points of the Blaster. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): · Blaster shall be based on a real or replica S&T Sterling L2A1 AEG Airsoft Gun. (Folding Stock does not need to function) · 3D printed blasters can not contain visible print lines and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance. · The recessed strip behind the bolt may be hollow, filled or partially filled. · Scope shall be a real or replica M.H.R. (Minneapolis Honeywell Regulator Co.) M38 Telescope. 1943 model is preferred. · Counter shall be a real or replica Hengstler 400 Series counter. Eagle logo is preferred. · Power Cylinders shall be mounted on top of the magazine well. R1 style power cylinders are preferred over ANH style. · A grille shaped detail piece is attached on top of the Magazine. It features 8 slots. · 6 rows of T-Tracks cover the Sterling receiver holes except for the lower left row with the bayonet lug. · A sling swivel may be fitted near the muzzle, on the same lower left row as the bayonet lug. · A 3-Slot Picatinny rail is fitted on the row above the bayonet lug. The rail is affixed with two screws. · A sling swivel is fitted underneath the stock extension. · If a sling is attached, it is made of webbing and uses snap hook buckles. The sling is attached to the swivel underneath the stock. · The stock is modelled after a 416C pattern OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Grip assembly and blaster dimensions are based on an S&T Airsoft sterling. Blasters based on real Sterling SMGs are not allowed. If an Airsoft Sterling is used, it mustn’t function. Scope shall be a real or replica 1943 M.H.R. Co. M38 Telescope, 1942 model is not allowed. Counter shall be a real or replica Hengstler 400 Series counter with Small eagle logo. Large eagle logo is not allowed. Power Cylinders shall be R1 style, ANH style is not allowed. The screws that mount the picatinny rail are on the outer end of the rail and do not interfere with the rail slots. The buttplate on the stock may not be ribbed and has a small rectangular greeblie fitted -
