  1. Glad you had a good time, and it's great you raised that much! - Master Tej -
  2. Have you read the 4 in the Republic Commando series? They're pretty great novels, but there won't be a sequel, perhaps ever. Traviss and Lucas had a falling out over, to my knowledge, her pay and the Clone Wars representation of Mandalore, which she says conflicts with her pre-established one. Quite frankly, the two could be reconciled, if it was written cleverly, and I think they both need to pick up off their sheb'se, make up, and get on with it, so that fans can finally have the concluding novel, which was supposed to be the sequel to 501st. - Master Tej -
  3. Yes, happy birthday! Sounds like you got to meet intense people! - Master Tej -
  4. I'm going to have to disagree on that point. The reason why there are no Imperial Commandos in the 501st is because of their differences. Here is how the armor is described in Imperial Commando: 501st. "The color was much like their old matte-black Katarn pattern plates, but there the similarity ended; everything about the shape, from helmet to chest plate to greaves, was just that bit different. It made Darman look like a stranger." (Traviss, 15-16) The reason why this costume has never been attempted is because the differences are too great. There is only one reference pic, the orangish one above, that doesn't show enough, and the novel confirms the differences are too great for the Republic Commando armor to be used. I wish Traviss would just go on ahead and finish the series so that we could hope for more reference pics . . . - Master Tej -
  5. The helmet looks really nice! - Master Tej -
  6. I agree! Bring on the DL pics! - Master Tej -
  7. Oh, I didn't know TB did so much! In terms of gloves, some use rubber chemical ones, some use standard working ones, some use comfortable ones. They need to be completely black with no visible logos or designs. I don't know how screen accuracy comes into play with gloves, but I personally got a comfortable pair for a few more dollars. - Master Tej -
  8. Okay, I think I found another thing. Looking at the Nova in the forum's background photo, the gold on the sides of that helmet is a stripe: it doesn't continue down to the bottom lip of the helmet. Mine does. Should I correct that? - Master Tej -
  9. Trooperbay, as far as I know, is mainly good for decals. They might have some soft goods, like undersuits or gloves, too. I would also recommend a dremel with a cutting wheel and sanding drum option. Sandpaper of varying grits between 360 and the highest one you can find (1000 if you got it.) And just be ready and willing to make lots and lots of trips to your local construction store! - Master Tej -
  10. I was reviewing the CRL and some other Nova builds, and I think I spotted a new problem with my helmet. The mohawk isn't supposed to continue all the way down the back of the helmet, is it? - Master Tej -
  11. Where can I get Novus? Is it just a wet or dry application polish? - Master Tej -
  12. Well, Sir, that collection is truly epic! - Master Tej -
  13. Looks nice! Is there a problem with the boots, you're not wearing them? Also, is all that stuff yours?! Cause all the stuff on the walls is awesome! - Master Tej -
  14. Sorry I haven't posted, I've been waiting unitl the end of this week. You see, for our final project in English 11, we had to demonstrate a process. It was really open ended in terms of project directions, so I decided to do "How to Build a Novatrooper Elite Helmet." I made a video tutorial, just below 20 minutes, which roughly explains the process. I also built my helmet in one week, the only prior work that I had done to the helmet being the trimming of auxiliary plastic and cutting out of the eyes and teeth. Therefore, I wanted to wait until I finished it to post here. I have to say, I have mixed feelings about how the helmet turned out. On the one hand, I'm proud of it, because I am the one who made it, and that's pretty awesome. On the other hand, it's not that clean of a piece of work. The teeth and eyes weren't cut out as cleanly as they should be. The mohawk had paint bleed, so I had to use black paint to touch it up. My tube stripes are pieces of electrical tape, not paint or decals. The helmet hasn't been polished yet. The ear bolts need another few coats of black. The largest two mistakes involve my neck trim and aerators. For the neck trim, I just plain couldn't figure out how to attach it! It just wouldn't attach well, kept bending out of shape, and I finally just set it aside. For the aerators, I actually lost one of the main aerator pieces. I had taken the pieces and my E-6000 outside to my garage so that I would have a well-ventilated space in which to glue the mesh in. I went back inside to grab something, and when I came out, one of them was gone! All of our animals were inside at the time, so I suspect it was blown under some shelves in our garage by wind. Anyways, I finished the other one, but didn't attach it. So here are some pics. Please tell me all that's good and bad about it, and if it's even approvable! Sorry, I know it's pic heavy, I just couldn't help myself from posting those pics. - Master Tej -
  15. That sounds awesome! I'm glad you had a good experience! - Master Tej -

  17. Congratulations on the approval, the armor looks great! - Master Tej -
  18. Um, it says the image is no longer available. Is it, like, a standard Halloween Doctor costume? - Master Tej -
  19. Happy Birthday! Don't feel disappointed, man, it happens! - Master Tej -

  21. Nice! Are you using a modded Hasbro for the Fett blaster? - Master Tej -
  22. Well, good luck! Congratulations on getting the red ABS for a magma, very few can claim ownership to such armor! - Master Tej -
  23. Good luck! You'll finish in time, don't worry. - Master Tej -
