  8. Half tempted to say screw the TK sitting in pieces in my garage and use the pieces to make this.
  9. This is looking so cool. I'm hoping it will look as good in day light as it will in the dark.
  10. Actually Jim Sauter put mirrored lenses in his Magma, while not canon, it did look pretty sweet. http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/977-new-magma-trooper-for-the-star-garrison-and-special-ops-picture-heavy/
  11. It looks like you're using elastic strapping on your mid back plate piece to connect to the lower butt plate. I would suggest using nylon strapping. Over time with sweat accumulation that elastic will start to expand and not pull back as tight and you'll end up with a drooping effect. I had elastic strapping on my thighs at first and within 5-10 troops..(I don't remember exactly) they were sagging and I had to change them out for nylon. The nylon also withstands the rubbing from the armor edges better than elastic. From what I can see, everything else looks like a solid build. Good job on the thighs. Because of the length, they can be one of the hardest pieces to assemble without gaps.
  12. I would get with your local garrison mates and ask them if there is somewhere local you can get your soft goods. It's obviously going to be way cheaper if you can find it nearby and not have to pay the shipping costs. With the amount of troopers down there, I'd think there would be a local source. Check that out before you go paying for the extra shipping costs and such.
  13. My first pieces were asics compression wear. Have held up and lasted a long time. Over time certain areas will fray up and the pieces themselves can fade after so many washes. You can tell in pics as it will have a high contrast to your armor. So I bought the eastbay special. Great pricing, great fit. A lot thinner than the asics brand I have, so I can tell it won't last as long, but it is good for now. Pics look great. Have used in I'd say 7 or 8 troops now, and still doing fine so far. Well worth the low price.
  14. Looking good so far. I would trim your velcro down so the the black edges don't stick out as much. Hide that as much as possible. Also, paint the screws on your bucket red. Your bucket looks killer btw, great work on that!
  15. Actually disregard the ABS cement all together. If used wrong it will warp your armor. A lot of troopers will recommend E-6000, that is fine if you want to wait 24 hours for a piece to set, and can also later come undone. What I recommend and is a fast and permanent set is Devcon/ permatex plastic weld. It's getting harder to find and the cost has gone up since I built my kit, but I will only build a kit with this. It's ready to go in 5 minutes. If you do use it you need to measure twice, cut once. It will be permanent. I've done near 60 troops on my original build and it's still holding strong.
  16. Looks pretty awesome Mearl great work!
