  1. Greetings! Body shop painted kit....sounds interesting. Can't wait to see pics.
  2. Wow. Those are very nice. He does such great work. Met him at CVI. Very nice guy.
  3. Do you have to wear sunglasses with that on? Looks killer btw.
  4. That's a great tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to create and post all of this.
  5. Love your ambition. You are a true example of dedication. As with all of your other projects, I can't wait to see this finished.
  6. A lot of the original TK's of the legion all came in matte black and had to be painted white. So, yeah, you could do it, but the upkeep would probably suck. Besides, you'll look so much better in black.
  7. That kit is an AM kit, and at a great price. The pics look almost to a T the way that SA's did back when I bought my FX from them and its shipping from the same place. I'm referencing the kit at $370.00
  8. Are the actual armor pieces fiberglass? That would be a pain to trim.
  9. You'll send your approval pics to your GML for your garrison. You can get that info off of your garrison boards. If you're not sure which garrison you're in, then we can help out there too. The kit is looking great! You shouldn't worry about fitting issues so much. You want to take pics and get approved. You're nearly there. As far as fitting.... you'll be making mods to this kit for years to come. You'll always find something that needs trimmed just a bit more. A strap that needs a snap replaced and so on. Most of us are still modding our kids even after years of trooping. I know I still do. As you can see, we're always here for help with any questions you may have. = )
  10. It does look like a recast FX kit. The details look good enough though. I rock an FX kit, but I have made changes for accuracy. No worries there, that's good enough for approval. I doubt anything but the helmet is fiberglass. Nothing wrong with fiberglass other than it's heavy. Might get a little tough to troop with after a half hour or so. 300 isn't a bad price for this at all. It's a start and you can always upgrade over time.
  11. For any new costume to be approved there needs to be a 360 degree view available in the references provided. The references must be official LFL material. Which the comics are. So if you can find a few panels with views of all angles of this character then go for it!
  12. nothing like friendly to your face and lies and deciet behind your back.

  13. Well that's not the best attitude. There is currently only one of these built. Therefore only only one person has put a great amount of research into this, and maybe a couple of people that helped him. Myself, I haven't put a lot of research into this because it was covered elsewhere, and I suspect most other members have done likewise. Therefore there are only a couple people that are really qualified to answer your question. Being so few people, it might be that they haven't been able to be as active here lately.... (I know the only owner of this costume and most of the staff were at CVI) so don't give up hope and try to have a little patience. Thanks.
  14. Ok cool. I saw one come across one time that was a RotJ mold and he was claiming it was made by Sheperton, but wasn't entirely sure. So I wasn't entirely sure, lol.
  15. Her GML still has to follow basic Legion CRL's which still allow the AM/FX for basic membership. Which we do here as well and we will continue to do. It is known that there are alternatives to the AM/FX but we will not discriminate anyone who chooses to use it. And this belief is the reason why this detachment melds so well. We accept all of our members regardless and we all generally get along because no one is going to tell another what they should or shouldn't do. We are here to help each other become Legion members. There are other threads for better accuracy and those topics should be discussed there.
  16. and that's the problem. we are not elitist here. we accept all our members.
  17. The Legion as a whole does not look down on the AM/FX bucket. It is a little larger and less screen accurate than most, but the majority of the Legion actually uses this bucket. There's nothing wrong with using this bucket until you can get a new one or even deciding that it is the one you want. Not encouraging this bucket, but not discouraging it either.
  18. I don't recommend this because it is more expensive, but because you're across the pond, you can order from Sheperton as well. Although I think he uses RotJ molds, so changes would need to be made. Again, not recommending, just letting you know it's available.
  19. G'day mate, Welcome back! Keep us posted on your build. =)
  20. Not encouraging, but not discouraging either.
