  1. Either is fine. Neither is more accurate than the other. Not sure the Amsterdams are being made anymore so going with the barnstormer is probably your best bet between the 2.
  2. Lookin good. One thing you can do to keep the ammo plate from moving is put some velcro under it. Less movement, less chance for rivets popping.

    Lenses

Try ebay, trooperbay, triktoys...etc... just make sure that the ones you order will fit your bucket make.
  4. I've seen some manufacture a clip to hold the lense in place, but it is ok to have a gap. If you can have the gap on the bottom of the lens it won't be seen and it will also allow air flow. There are quite a few buckets out there with slight gaps around the lenses though.
  5. That is acceptible for Specialist, and I will add that it looks great! The only thing I would sugggest is... wear it around the house a bit. Make sure you're comfortable and make any needed adjustements before going out to a long troop. It's harder to make those adjustments on the fly.
  6. I use two old cell phone clips to secure my TD. It holds great and allows for quick removal if I have anything stored in my TD. You'll notice the sticky back on the female side in the pic. That gave away pretty quick and I had to rivet them to my belt. Same with the male side to the TD. Have not had a problem since and I've trooped a few times here and there. That was 3 years ago. The mylar tape is now gone.
  7. We might need to buy more storage space for the site....
  8. Don't forget to get your custom name plate for the stanley tote off the legion boards DE. Will show you pics of mine if you ike.
  9. Watch the "Dave's Garage" series on youtube. It will help greatly with the helmet build.
  10. Everything is looking good! You'll need to remove the blue tube stripes though. The CRL's only call for black. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_shadow_stormtrooper
  11. We did away with the mylar tape when we did the CRL's for the Shadow Stormtrooper last year. At one time it was ok to be approved with it on, but no longer. I was approved with mine on and up until a few months ago I still had it on. (was a pain in the butt to remove it after being glued on for so long )
  12. That's a Shepperton kit. You'll end up paying more in the long run after conversion and shipping. Best to be patient and get the parts you need as you can. Shepperton isn't allowed to ship to the US, I'm not sure about Canada.
  13. Glad to have you back! Can't wait to see your new build.
  14. ooooh, 5'4 you can join Wraith's ankle biter squad J/J you're not alone in in the short department, we have a few troopers around here that are down to earth. Hey post up a pic of your boots if you can.
  15. Nearly 50 troops, never an issue. I keep the battery pack velcroed to the back of my bucket on the inside. I don't even notice it's there. I'll post pics later.
  16. Should probably have noted this with the battery info. But yes most fans are going to be 12 volt. A single AA battery is only 9 volts. What I use is a battery box that holds 4 batteries and I run 2 fans off it. The box has an on/off switch on the outside of it. This place has squirrel fans really cheap. http://www.allelectr...M-BLOWER/1.html I have 2 of them, just haven't installed them yet. You can search the site and probably find all those other items a lot cheaper also.
  17. I gave some opinions in PM, but as far as batteries, I always go with the energizer ultimate lithium. They cost a bit more, but they last through numerous troops. I've gotten at least 4-5 troops out of every package I've bought. On an average of 2-4 hours per troop I would say. One package or regular batteries will usually only last the troop you're doing and maybe into the next one for a short while.
  18. looks like a lot of effort went into that
