  1. That looks great! Can't wait to see more!
  2. I don't personally like the silver chin, but that's your choice of course.
  3. Yes I sprayed it. Used painters tape to lay down the outline and you need to make sure the main line is pressed down nice and firm so there's no paint leak. just basically used news paper to cover the rest of the bucket. If you get any over spray anywhere on the bucket, you can use rubbing alcohol to wipe it off. you'll want to lightly sand the frown parts to be painted so it sticks better. or use a primer.
  4. Since you decided to go with the mirrored lens, a silver paint paint would probably look better on the frown IMHO. Here's kind of a gray vs silver comparison back when I built my FX. If you decide to do this, you can use goo gone to get the current paint off and it won't damage your bucket. Just regular Rustoleum Metallic Finish is what I used. I really think you'll like the difference. The gray looks fine with smoke lenses but a silver frown really looks great with the mirrored lenses. When it was finished
  5. Did you ever find an armor kit? If not PM me, I may have some very helpful info.
  6. The guy I'm talking about actually lives right here in Ohio about 30 minutes away from me. I've been to his workshop (where I we built my E-11). I'll get some info from him and post later.
  7. I'm friends with a guy who makes and sells resin kits for this. They're not cheap, but they will be very accurate. He made the molds to my current E-11 His molds come off of actual parts (Sterlings, MG-34's ect...) He is a prominent member on the RPF. I can get you in touch with him. Let me know.
  8. Looks great!! in the above pic where you're standing backwards. The left arm has the forearm correct, and the right harm has it turned to the back. Then in the most recent pic they are both turned to the back. Like iz said, nothing that would hold up approval, just try to keep them a little more forward. You'll probably have to adjust them a couple times while trooping anyway.
  9. you could try rolling up the wrist area a little. That might tighten the arm up more. That's what I have to do with my pants. Your forearms are rolling around to the back some also. You can put some foam on the inside to make sure they stay flush against your arm and don't turn like that. minor things, but your build looks great! Can't wait to see trooping pics!
  10. :woot: :woot: Congratulations on Approval 5-0!
  11. yeah, you can upload photos to photobucket for free and then just post the image link here and it will show.
  12. Congrats! looks like you have your work cut out for you though.
  13. This isn't FISD and the requirements for "Specialist" if that is what you're aiming for are in the specified location.
  14. You obviously can do as you wish within the parameters. Most do a flat black decal for the tube stripes and paint the frown silver. My opinion, If you do the silver frown you should do the mirrored lens look though so it's uniform. Up to you though.
  15. Holster, Drop boxes, Right thigh ammo belt. You're almost there. Those are all very easy adds. Kit looks tremendous! just a quick recommendation. your thigh straps are coming from right below the last ammo box on your belt. that's where the drop boxes need to hang from. So you might want to move them in a tad.
  16. http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/381-specialist-requirements-blackhole-trooper/ " * Belt must be made of a glossy material to closely match the shine of the armor. " No.
  17. wow, what a weird material to send as a belt. The belt will need to be glossy black. You can do canvas or the one in the pic if you get some black vinyl or patent leather and sew it on over them. Or you can order some black abs strips.
  18. looks good , but......that's not a jedi braid is it?
  19. This should be interesting. Keep us updated.
