  1. I will check about the indented rectangle thing. BTW the CRL's for this costume in particular are being worked on as a team collaboration so there may be some updates as this is not the final version of the CRL.
  2. Great questions hopefully i can answer some of them. So if you look where the teeth are they are not like the original tie pilots and more like TK style teeth. There are also a few more differences but they dont jump out at you so i can understand your thoughts on that. The teeth are gunmetal color the lighting is a bit hard to tell but i still think that is the correct color from the reference pics. Also yes you might be correct cause i dont remember seeing any tie pilots in rogue one although i have only seen the movie once so i will have to go back and re watch but i think you are right.
  3. CONGRATS on your approval!!! Way to go
  4. Legit hope the convention went well. What is the width for your belt btw? I like yours and wanted to use the width for the CRL. Thanks
  5. lol oh my gosh that psycho shadow pic is a hot mess lol. I am really happy for you and that the process wasn't all that taxing. Best of luck on your approval I hope it turns out alright for you let us know. If you ever need help or have questions everyone here is happy to help.
  6. Yeah I made a note about the location of that for sure in the above post i made somewhere. Yeah i agree it is hard to tell on his armor for sure. It sounds like it would be a real easy fix then if he removes from the places its not supposed to be there so if he really likes the trim he could keep it on the correct places and work on being approved for the battle front version
  7. I have checked the CRL only 4 instances of mentioning gloss do you think in the at the top there should be a gloss statement in the special notes section?
  8. Legit I had no idea what a gasket was so i am glad i looked it up. Let me know your thoughts about it. Hopefully its ok so Daniel might change his mind about getting approved as a battle front shadow stormtrooper
  9. So in the ROTJ they mention this as a requirement A black flexible U shaped gasket or molded lip is present around all edge I looked up what a gasket is A noun: A shaped piece or ring of rubber or other material sealing the junction between two surfaces in an engine or other deivce So could he technically keep that rubber trimming given the definition of a gasket and it being a requirement for ROTJ armor? It can only be on the Chest, Back, Abdomen, Kidney and Posterior Armor only. I looked at this as a reference http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_rotj
  10. No worries I enjoy writing CRL's and its always great to see more costumes added to spec ops. That is a great question actually. Ya know you have a lot of options so I will give you some thoughts and see what you think. There are soo many vendors available now so its not going to be to hard tracking down some ROTJ armor. I am unsure of your budget so I would suggest shop around. So you have an options: 1. of getting armor pulled in ROTJ style in the gloss black so speak with vendors or 2. like you said get a TK ROTJ style and get it professionally painted at a body shop for super gloss or paint it yourself. So again really depends on your budget and what will work best for you. I am hoping that it wont be such a chore to get this done but i think it will be fine. Once you decide and order your kit and I know you will have to wait start getting your gloves, canvas belt if one does not come with your kit, supplies to put it together, boots other items you might need. Also research the construction on this is (shadow stormtrooper build threads/ assembly videos)really going to be the same as any other shadow storm trooper just the noticeable differences like for instance the imperial cog placement will be left up to getting it as close to the reference pics as possible and then once we have that measurement we can add that to the CRL. Another is the length of the drop boxes which we need to figure out. So since you being the first it has to be right and do it well Just always ask questions if you are unsure, try not to be overwhelmed and just take it one step at a time. I wish you best of luck on your build this is very exciting
  11. No worries yay for being rogue lol Well best of luck with your builds hope it all works out thanks my magma is my baby <3
  12. hmm ya know the battle front shadow storm trooper has a cog on the chest if you were interested in keeping and getting it approved possibly.... here is the links http://forum.501stsp...om-battlefront/ http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/4957-battlefront-shadow-stormtrooper-crl-work/ if not no biggy and good work on your build
  13. Well from what I could see the gap between the ears on the helmet is noticeable. The last pic if you look especially the ear on the left. I am unsure if your local GML will clock you for that. Otherwise it seems to be looking good so I think just make sure everything is straight and in the right place before sending in the approval pics and see what feedback you get. I am hoping for the best for you
  14. Ok Good to know. Thank you for the information.
  15. Welcome! Nice to see someone else refer to themselves as "it is I" thought i was the only one
  16. Do they also have the helmets molded in black or is that one item that needs to be professionally painted? I am considered this kit actually
  17. We havent forgotten about this still waiting for clearer pictures at this point and more content to come out. But whle we are waiting here are some links to the trailers in order of release April Trailer June Trailer
  18. The CRL is going to rely heavily on the reference pics so people can see what needs to be done. I honestly don't see any reason to reinvent the wheel on this costume. I think the ROTJ style of armor will work perfectly for this and there really shouldn't be any heavy duty make from scratch items except for: the drop boxes since those are clearly longer than the standard 5.5" long and 2.5" wide the hand guards T-21 T-21B Flash Grenade picture hosting sites free
  19. Please refer here for CRL work A lot of it is kept simple and will rely on the visual aids for verification. The style of the armor is definitely ROTJ http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/4957-battlefront-shadow-stormtrooper-crl-work/
