  1. I thought I would give an update and not leave this thread hanging. I have decided to change the direction for this costume at this time. I am going to use the armor for an ICAT driver. After I finished my Tank trooper I just fell in love with the helmet design and yeah. However I will come back to this costume at some point as I have put a lot of time and money into other items for this such as the softgoods and the helmet that will not be used for the ICAT. Good luck to those who are building this costume and for everyone working on the CRL
  2. I am back from the two months of crazy. Looking over everything now and willing to lend an eye or anything as needed
  3. Hat looks fine to me. Real life happens and its more important than this. But glad you are back!
  4. Paint arrived today and I will do some test sprays tomorrow on some spare plastic from the same batch as the rest of the costume.
  5. I’m ordering some Montana paint for my shore and I’ll get it as well to test and see if there is any other prep.
  6. My eyes say anthricite edit: my wife reminded me I’m somewhat color blind haha. She’s looking and has a great eye for color, she is an artist who paints lizard puppets so she’s good with color
  7. With the CRL moving forward, I dug this out of "storage" and will be taking a good look over to see if there is anything I need to address before paint. I did figure out that I want to upgrade my belt boxes since I only had the R1 style in the box.
  8. I don’t have a screen cap at the moment but during the riot, one of the troopers helmets gets knocked off and there is a really good look at the inside of the helmet. The whole helmet appears to be lined and the padding is black foam. Is helmet lining something to take into consideration? Maybe a lvl 2 thing?
  9. Thank you for keeping us on track. And also thank you for bringing up the paint. Are the goggles going to be a separate item from the helmet in the CRL? -- EDIT I can read, I really can!
  10. The baton is similar but not identical to Jyn’s. Hers is a little shorter and has the extra handle 90degrees out like a typical law enforcement baton. I cannot find any pictures or evidence to show the Rix road troopers have that extra handle
  11. @HodaWas Anthracite decided as a good color to start with? I am posting here as the CRL discussion thread is locked. And thank you!
  12. No I was not able to get to it yet. Between a birthday trip and a winter in Colorado that won’t let up it fell behind. But I’m ready as soon and I get some nice weather now. The only thing I’m missing is some updates to my helmet
  13. I will take some pictures this weekend. Mine is a IS kit so it may be pretty different in how it would be put together but it would give some ideas
  14. I have a couple sets. The ones from my post on Jan 6th are vintage jackboots and the ones from the post on Jan 16th and the suit up pictures are from crow props
  15. I agree the the terms and am requesting the link. Thank you
  16. Ordering that today! Gonna get this build finished up!
  17. Ordering that today! Gonna get this build finished up!
  18. How much different? I received one from him not long ago
  19. Pictures incoming. Everything is prepared for paint. Biceps and shin guards are finished and strapped.
  20. I’m still recovering from surgery on my left arm so the picture with me pointing is as high as I can reach up with the armor on(extra weight on the arm and shoulder). tomorrow I hope to get the shins glued, and the biceps finished. I have been looking more and more at the Montana Shock Black and it really looks good for a color match, so hopefully I can help “argue” that color for the CRL. Speaking of, when are we gonna start working on that?
  21. After some adjustments to the suit, still more to come(need to work on the arms a bit more) and with the proper boots I think it’s getting closer. I put a picture of my knee bent to show how far up the boots come up my calf, half way.
