  1. Thanks, Peter. I agree, it would be the right say to approach it. I still dream of a day where we have two specialist paths for our EU costumes, one for screen accuracy and one for art accuracy. For example, the lancer requirements would work for the screen ccurste path, whereas the art path would join all the comic references into different requirements. Sadly, the current crl structure with L2 LIKE doesn't support something like this yet.
  2. The costume does have a visual reference; it's on the cover of the book.
  3. Nils, If we followed this guidance, 80% of the costumes in spec ops would not exist. Even that shadow stormtrooper you wear proudly would likely not exist, because even it requires assumption based on other known and better referenced costumes. Even the shadow stormtrooper has taken something from art and converted it to real life and that includes compromises on what will be included in the CRL. I doubt you are ready to give up that costume to follow the 'costumes can't be based on assumptions and maybes' rule. All that being said, these CRL's don't just get created by detachments and then published. They are reviewed by an entire LMO team. I am happy we have it here and I am proud of those members working toward and already accomplishing their approvals. I would suggest a discussion with the LMO team if you don't think the costume should be approvable, but I cannot support that position, myself. Steve Spec Ops DL
  4. Check with walk (wtf) on Facebook or scootch here on these forums.
  5. The key here that is often lacking with other costumes is the continuity with her squad mates. They all have like-pieces that we can references and we do get a back view of Seyn from the book cover that we can also use for additional details. That is one of the key reasons her costume is much simpler than the other ones. Hope that makes sense.
  6. Placeholder for Imperial Sapper-Engineer reference photos.
  7. just so everyone knows, a draft of the Seyn CRL is up and it looks great. Still awaiting word from the LMO.
  8. Jim is spot on. Both detachment had a case, but agreed together to split the costumes based on their roles through the book and the game. As of yet, the LMO has not officially approved this in either detachment, but that is how JRS and spec ops has approached it.
  9. Acetone is the best way, but not good for the plastic. You could try it on the inside of a piece or some spare plastic and see how it reacts, but you can use acetone on the glue and the scrap it off with a putty knife. Might then need to do some sanding and buffing.
  10. Welcome to sec ops, Jonathon. The first thing I would do is review the existing build threads here, paying attention to the helmet and armor combos other troopers have used.
  11. Specialist is a variant of the death trooper costume,so it's listed under optional costume elements in the CRL. It was coincidence that the death trooper came out and it's variant shared a name with spec ops' tier 2 system. The death trooper doesn't officially have a spec ops specialist level...yet. it will.
  12. Keep in mind while the biker scout is the brother to the shadow scout, it has different sources and can generate differences in the crl's and measurements. It is more than just a black biker scout.
  13. It's with the LMO team. I'm sure they appreciate your patience and understanding for their voluntary work.
  14. I had to do that to my armor when I upgrade from Velcro to snap plates and I did it exactly that way. Got a raw thumb, but it was much faster.
  15. Please use the first page of this thread. The draft on the 501st site isn't approved yet and that link shouldn't even be passed around at this point.
  16. No sudden change, but you might be finding a disparity between what JRS has decided. Note for anyone talking about dimensions - there is also the opposite problem if you don't give some even a general idea of size - a person will use a strap or belt that is way offside and then make a fuss if it's not approved. A gml reviewing the costume should always come back to what looks right. If the piece in question would look cool pletely wrong on someone, considerations can be made, but they won't be made just because someone doesn't want to obtain the right size item. If a trooper is 4'10'' and 95 pounds, the standard size pouches are going to look ridiculous, for example.
