  1. Wow, the trim came off really nicely. I think you will be in good shape.
  2. I don't have a problem adding it, but it shouldn't be confusing to make the costume like the picture unless anything special is named. If you've got 100 gloss shadow stormtroopers and you want to make a matte one, asking is the smart thing to do. Anyway, it will be published in the CRL shortly.
  3. Can you post a pic of the inside? I use padding but mine stays well in place because sits the way a hat would.
  4. Looks very cool. With trimming just follow the rules that you can always trim more, you can add any back. Trim the guide lines first (if there ones) and then size everything on your body with painters tape. While it's on, you can have someone mark additional trim lines if needed.
  5. Dorothy, we could add that until such time as someone matches the battle damaged statue. As for the comic references, since some are so old, long standing assumption are that the armor is gloss black like a Stormtrooper. Nothing has been published to the contrary to date and as a legion we have that whole uniformity thing as far as the standard shadow Stormtrooper goes.
  6. You are right, though. The specialist will require those boots or an exact match. We wouldn't care if they werent specifically the docs if they matched what was on screen. The biggest discrepancy between the doc Martin's used on screen and other models is usually the boot sole trim.
  7. Alright, I figured out why the trim kept sticking in my head as an issue. The ROTJ TK has it, but only on the chest, back, ab, and kidney/posterior armor. From the pics here (hard to tell for sure - maybe it's just the return edge) it looks like it's definitely present on the forearms. Those pieces and anything else not chest, back, ab, and kidney/posterior armor should have the trim removed if it is present. I'll double check the ammo pic. Thanks!
  8. You know what Dorothy, you are right. I totally forgot about that. That could be a case for it being allowed. Let me think and dig on it.
  9. Not to discourage you, I would discuss it with your gml, but trim on all the armor pieces isn't allowed on any of the stormtrooper variants, even the original white armor. It's not in the CRL or the pictures in the CRL. I would do some research on removing zap-a-gap...I imagine you can get it off, just may need to do some sanding and polishing after. I encourage questions at every step. Please don't hesitate.
  10. Are planning on not adjusting the shadow to meet approval requirements? Just curious. Sound like all minor things that are out of line with the crl. Hope that's not holding you up from seeking full approval.
  11. I think you are ready to submit and get feedback from your gml. Since everyone's different, there might be something that's a little more of a sticking point from one person to the next.
  12. Never heard of that stuff. Very curious, now. Might have to get some just to try it out.
  13. A shiny paint job might be necessary...not sure how shiny you'll get it otherwise. Meaning, you may need a clear coat over the map to get the proper shiny look. For the shins, I use elastic stirrups connected to my shins that go under my foot and that keeps my shins down over my boots.
  14. I would definitely shine that baby up before submitting pics.
  15. Very nice. Looks good. Which model machine is that? I suck on machines...do most everything by hand, lol.
  16. All, I have some very good news. The Rebels Imperial SuperCommando has been assigned to spec ops! BHG still has the clone wars SuperCommando, but this baby is all ours. Huzzah!
  17. Welcome, Mike! This is awesome news. Can't wait to see your guys build.
  18. BHG is the other logical choice. They currently have every other mando variant, including the cartoon ones. I can see our point about these not strictly being mercs or bounty hunters, but mando's falling under BHG does make sense from an expertise of costume pieces perspective. Don't get me wrong - I'd love to have the costume here, but I also see the logic if it ends up in BHG. BHG, like many other detachments, is evolving as more new content comes out. It's not quite fair to just pigeon hole them because they started as being responsible for just one cannon costume when all that existed for so long was just that one or two OT movies that had that costume. As more costumes are introduced through a lot of new content, they evolve and expand just as we do. At least, that's how I view it .
  19. Hey Stephen, this is great news! The fact that you have to scout armor already will definitely speed up the process. Can't wait to see your swampy!
  20. Welcome to spec ops, Sara! I'm looking forward to see how the more compact Deathtrooper turns out.
  21. Nice. Would be cool to see a side by side with the source material. I love messing with leather. Not for good at it, but it's fun.
