  2. The one thing I worry about with glossy is getting wear spots that will clearly show the lack of gloss. Much more unlike in a non-glossy boot surface.
  3. I tried a PVC mannequin once, but couldn't get it right and got tired of putting the armor on it. The pieces never wanted to sit just right. Can't wait to see the final pics.
  4. That really ended up being some great art. Jennifer, I think Izzi has you covered on this, but I would still be happy to respond to your PM in more detail if you like.
  5. decals or paint are much preferred to a marker. Black Markers rarely really look black, they always seem to have a purplish hue to them and even more annoying, it is a pain to try to get that even. I would go the decal route.
  6. Well, on-site mods is a normal occurrence at any events, so be prepared
  7. I am going to see if I can sand this out. If Not, I will just trim it out and include a much smaller return edge.
  8. Began the sanding process today. I am getting some white spotting in the sanding area. I think I will need to start over with the sanding at a low grit again and work my way up. Not sure what is causing the white spotting.
  9. Return edge has been added to the bottom of the chest plate and top of ab. I added a very small one to the shoulders as well. Still need to do the tops of the thighs - may not do that until after CVI. With the thigh curve I am more worried about getting it right.
  10. Definitely some existing armor out there that can be modded, but some pieces are going to have to be full custom.
  11. so time to find some heavy weight paper. My first step is going to be reworking the bucket model as I have been determined to do this for years:
  12. It is an option down the line, but for now, especially for CVI, I am going to continue to mod. Its a good amount of work, but it is only costing me time right now.
  13. Cannot wait to see how you are going to manage reintegrating those. Who doesn't love WIP pics
  14. Well it would be a first of its kind which is a strong move toward getting something official. This also would be one of the sets we would consider creating a Specialist A and Specialist B program for with B being more art accurate. Essentially what I am saying is that you are not really going after Nova Elite, but a new Nova specialist based on the Art. That being said, let's post up all the source images and start to examine them.
  15. Can you actually link to the file location? NM, found it here: http://www.thereplicapropforum.com/f24/pepakura-stormtrooper-helmet-145090/
  16. Need to grab that and see if I can mod it for the Shadow Trooper
  17. I am looking at these through a remote sessions so the images aren't the best, I will try and take a closer look tonight. The overall pep work looks great. What did you use a starting point for your pep file?
  18. Wow, didn't realize how much I was trying to do on my armor before CVI until I wrote it out. This is just for my BH, leaves out the ISB and Gunner mods I was working on. Kidney/Butt Plate split/resize Chest Plate return edge Ab Armor Return Edge Ab to Butt Suspenders Shoulder Bell Float Change calf closure Shoulder bell Trim Bicep lowering Bucket Fans/Foam setup
  19. And we could move this over to the armor forum, after all, it is armor.
  20. Curious, just looked at the photo of the bottom. Are those clank plates? If they are, it can make boots uncomfortable for wearing for long periods of time.
  21. Wow, man. I needto make some time to try this.
