  1. Depends how much you need to trim. If its not a lot, I would do a little off of both.
  2. Ya, it clearly shows in that right shoulder
  3. Highly recommend what izzi suggests. I do this. Some elastic and velcro just does wonders
  4. Even with the top of the knee cap is a good spot. You can see it in the crl http://www.501st.com/databank/File:TX_shadowstorm_full.jpeg
  5. That is the only way i could get them to work too
  6. Hey, bucket is the hardest part, clear sailing from here . Looks like you put the liner clips in upside down like I did, is that right?
  7. Oddly enough, I was having too much trouble trying to install it correctly so that the liner clips would work to hold themselves in place. This was esecially difficult due to the curvature of the bucket. So I actually installed the clip holders upside down and glued the clips right into them, that way they stayed. Hope this makes sense.
  8. Nicely done, looking much better. Always take your time with the cuts and go a little at a time. Much easier to take some off than try to put some back.
  9. It was from sith armor. Its an fx kit (which you will only find on the resale market now). Originally purchased in 2008.
  10. Depends how permanant you want the seal diciding between abs or e-6000. E-6000 will hold anything together, but also can be separated. The abs, no such luck. I used abs on my bucket because i knew i wouldnt want it coming apart ever. All other areas i use the e-6000.
  11. I see it in the belt, where do you guys see it?
  12. You and me both boss. Shin trimming is somethinig most of us have to do. Just keep a similar shape and you will be fine.
  13. I am sure the kicks are more comfortable than my boots
  14. For the CVI trip I picked up a stanley case instead of using my golf case. I can only get one set of armor in my golf case. Also, someone in my garrison is driving a trailer out there and taking a number of stanley cases with him, so I wanted to save the shipping money.
  15. Return edges can be a sore subject. Are they required? No. I have very few left on my armor for comfort and sizing purposes. However, some people really like them because they give the illusion that the armor is thicker than it really is. As for the glue issue, the problem with ABS is it melts the plastic together so even if you have it on just one side and goof off would start to remove it, what you removed would be uneven. I suggest sanding. I also suggest getting some Rockler sandpaper (rockler.com). They sell sand paper pads of a very high grade (through 12,000 or something crazy). With that stuff you can actually sand the plastic back to its original shine. Here is an example, you can see I got ABS on the bucket. This also happened on the front of my bucket. just above where the mask meets the dome. I was able to sand it out completely:
  16. WIP threads will help a lot. I had to do a decent amount of trimming as well. Most kits are really built for the 6'1'' frame. For the calfs, just trim to a good height maintaining a similar shape. For the for-arms, I suggest starting at the part that hits your elbow to do your trimming.
  17. That is such a good feeling, taking those pieces out. Have fun man. Be patient.
  18. No worries. I think it is clean, just needs to be trimmed down a bit for me. Everyone is different. The one thing I would complain about that caused me more work than I wanted is the shrink wrap. Since it ran under the ear caps, I had to loosen them to get it out and it was a little bit of the pain. Glad to the see the helmet protected though.
  19. Hoth trooper would be next on my list
  20. Depends, if they are hitting your kidneys, they are way too high, but groin shouldnt be bad.
  21. I think we need a Capitain Comedy staff position!
