Armor parties are great for learning this stuff. That will make your life so much easier. Congrats man and I look forward to see it coming together even more.
What does the PS3 version have? Does it match one of them or is it a third variant. If it matches, I would go with that. That is no guarantee though as can be seen with the Amber rank bar requirement for Juno, that was based on one source (PS3 I think) when the Wii and Xbox both looked Yellow. However, going with majority is probably your best bet
Your attitude is exactly where it needs to be for this project. Keep working and you will find yourself a year down the line with something absolutely awesome!!!
also, in your intro, include what type of armor you are looking to do. If its from this detachment (I assume that's why you are here), we can point you in the right direction.
hmm, I actually did this already, with foam inside, but they look too big around. I need to shore them up a little so they are a bit tighter, then the foam should do the trick without them look like i am wearing a giant tube on my leg
Really, it just sounds like you need to buy some smaller rivets. I have two different sizes and one is definitely a lot bigger then the other. I would file, just get a small rivet. I'll try and check to see what size mine are
Here is a shot of two of the same side rivets. I just riveted it once each direction so you could get a clear shot of what each side would like like. The taller side would be on the inside, but I would assume this is still shorter than your nut. I should have included a penny for size reference.
How short would you need them. They would for sure be shorter then the nut you are probably currently using on the inside. That is the nice thing about pop rivets, they around on each side and then you can trim any edge off on the inside. I will try and take a pic of mine if I can make it up the stairs with my leg
Looking awesome man. What did you use to connect those shin plates. Looks like bolts? Is that right. Seems like rivets would look better. Just a suggestion.
Pieces look great, just need a little weathering, not in the heavy sense, but in the not just one even color sense. It will make a huge difference, but I think things are looking good
