  1. Right on! Can't wait to see that approval post!
  2. Yeah, I think unless we get anything more concrete it is going to be hard to present to the LMOs on inclusion as a costume.
  3. The humidity is really high where I live during this time of the year, so painting is usually not viable most of the days outside. I don't have a paint booth setup in my basement due to the fumes and such, but I did get drop cloths just in case. The last time I spray painted down there I got it everywhere because I'm an idiot and that stuff floated for like a day
  4. At first glance it looks like most of it is good. The only thing we'd have to see while printing is the tears under the eyes that appear on the CRL image but not on this print and the vertical bar on the back of the helmet doesn't have the ridges. The ridges would be easy enough to add though.
  5. I can't remember if WTF kits are acrylic capped ABS to give it the gloss, but I know that some kits out there are. Either way, in order to promote adhesion of the primer you'll at least want to clean it up with soap/water or mineral spirits (make sure stuff DOES NOT have acetone in it) and then scuff it with some real high grit sand paper either dry or wet. After the primer is set then you can do the actual color spray on it to give it the satin or matte finish. Personally, I converted an all white Anovos stormtrooper over to an Incinerator Trooper with the red stripes and I did not prime underneath it and so far the paint is sticking. I did, however, clean it up very well to ensure that it stuck. The kit was also very worn so the surface was already a bit rough through natural wear.
  6. I ran through this and it appears to be all good from what I can see. I adjusted the color of the main shoulder area to black as I agree with your assessment of it.
  7. Sorry, I didn't meant to miss this initial post! The helmet text being yellow just means that that is the current step were on for drafting the CRL. I do see that you are on your way with designing the helmet in the below post! I like it thus far!
  8. Thanks for typing that up, here are a few answers or things to ponder! : Material type - I had derived the cotton or cotton blend from the BHG Super Commando Captain (https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:MW_Supercommando-Captain) since that was another animated series (Clone Wars vs Rebels); but if we think it could be described better I'm all for that! Flight suit color - I'm good with wording it a bit darker than the white armor, like a gray color? I can definitely tell it is darker, I may have copied that over from the grunt one, but I can't remember since it was like 2020 when I had wrote it. The rest of it looks good to me!
  9. @HidingInCosplay no worries! I understand that life can be busy! I can't wait to see the WIP thread and making some movement again on getting that CRL text drafted and images captured for the CRL
  10. With regards to the T-21 trooper, is that how it is on the card for it? I have them at home but can't remember. If you have some of them that are put together as per the instructions in the box and unpainted then perhaps a high-resolution set of photos could help, at least to see how the parts are. I'd imagine you have them painted as per the FFG/AMG art? If so then those would probably work as well, as that would show the intended colors that FFG/AMG were looking at when it was presented for licensing.
  11. Hello, @Roarcach! Does the file have images that includes the sides and back?
  12. I have reviewed the text and added the two options from my previous post into the main part of the finalized text. Is there anything else that we need to add or verify before we start gathering information for a NTTL request?
  13. Thanks for the helpful information provided in this thread!
  14. Scott, that is an internal limit that is needed to maintain server space for the detachment and is not an error. You'll need to utilize a 3rd party image service such as (Imgur, Flickr, etc.) to host images and link them back to the thread(s).
  15. Glad to hear you're doing well! I know the joys of home ownership and moving, all too well. Keep your head up! Can't wait to see this awesome armor again
  16. I agree with your information here! The pauldron color looks just like the black leather one I have for my shadow stormtrooper, so I'd definitely agree with it being black rather than gray. I also did a little work on that strap text: A black strap, made from leather or leather-like material, extends from the front left corner, under the arm and attaches at the back left corner. Strap is attached out of sight, under the armpit and under the pauldron by a buckle that resembles a ratchet-strap and as per the reference image. For the ammo cartridges they very closely resemble Phase II ROTS chest ammo packs and rig, so I think your description is good for that. The 327th Star Corps (https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CT_-_327th_Star_Corps) and Utapau Shadow Commander (https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CX_212thUtapauShadowCloneCommander) come to mind.
  17. My opinion would be the darker green if you are doing the regular Imperial Army Trooper.
  18. FYI, the first post in this thread has been updated now for CRL progression.
  19. I forgot that I had written some text for this costume before (like in 2020) when the threads started becoming active. Here is some food for thought from what I had done before, to add @tipperaryred: Flight Suit Must be a cotton or cotton blend, one or two-piece garment, and must be properly fitted and shaped to the wearer. Must not have any visible pockets, pouches or zippers. The upper body part of the flight suit is a maroon-colored. The neck area of the flight suit goes halfway up the neck of the wearer to conceal skin when the helmet is worn. On each shoulder of the flight suit there is a white Imperial Cog emblem on a black background. The cog is 3” (76.2mm) or 3.5” (88.9mm) diameter and 1” (25.4mm) from the shoulder seam. The cog may be embroidered or vinyl. The lower body part of the flight suit is colored to match the white of the armor pieces. The lower body part of the flight suit has the following seams: On the outside of each leg there is a double-lapped seam which runs the entire length of the suit showing from the top of the shins up under the belt. On the front just above the top of the knee armor which wraps around to the back of the flight suit and appears on the back. On the back from the knee seam there is a seam that runs up the back of each thigh and then curves to the outside of the back under the belt. There is a horizontal seam that runs across the butt connecting both of these seams running up the back of each thigh. On the back there is central double-lapped seam which runs from under the belt to the crotch of the wearer.
  20. I'm in agreement with internal lining being moved to a L2 detail, as it isn't a normally visible part. I say we go with the latest posting of @Blackwatch and then moving to the next item.
  21. Based on the official images from FFG we can see a T-21 in one as well as a bandolier on another, so I'm making a motion to include both as optional accessories as well: Bandolier ANH style Stormtrooper ammo belt in black that is proportional to the wearer. Comprised of five evenly spaced rectangular boxes on the front and a five evenly spaced rectangular boxes on the back. Ammo belts are attached to belt strips made of leather or leather-like material with silver snaps at the end of each ammo belt for a total of eight snaps, four on the front and four on the back. Completed belt is worn diagonally across the chest. Belts may be light to moderately weathered. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Bandolier is worn atop the left shoulder. T-21 Light Repeating Blaster Rifle Manufactured by BlasTech Industries. Based on a real or replica Lewis Mark I machine gun. For this prop the magazine disk and bipod of the original gun are left off. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): A ribbed length of tubing shall be installed over the front of the gun barrel. A black canvas, leather, or nylon sling shall be attached. Any buckles used to attach sling to blaster shall be black. Sight shall be present on top where ribbing meets base.
