  1. Pushing into the Knee Armor, almost there! I did remove the reference to the gray center strap on the main strap, I'm not seeing that it is actually gray. With this strap, I think we should probably specify a material for it? However, I ensured that we have "All details match the reference images" in the right spot so that we can push these images to the main reference image thread. The rest of the stuff I did was just a general clean-up. Knee Armor Purge Trooper style knee armor. Armor is painted satin black. Knees have a raised flat area in front and are oriented towards the top of the knee. Knees bend around the front and connect to black detail clips on each side. The black details clips connect to the strap on each side. All details match the reference images. The outer leg side has straight edges from the central rib, and the plate does not extend towards the back of the knee where the clip attaches. From where the black detail clip attaches, the upper edge of the knee plate is a straight cut up-and-down. The bottom edge features a "high-arc" cut in it towards the lower leg armor. The inner leg side of the knee plate has a curved top edge and the plate protrudes further back towards the back of the leg. This side of the knee plate is actually longer than the outside. From where the black detail the clip connects, the upper edge of the knee has a gentle curve in the plate. The bottom edge features a "low-arc" cut in it towards the lower leg armor. A black colored flat strap, about 1⅛ inches (28.57mm) wide, wraps around the back of the leg. In the center of the strap there is a raised ⅝ inch (15.87mm) wide center strap. Armor has little to no weathering. Any weathering present consists of gray tones.
  2. The Elbow Armor looked pretty good too! I made some stuff align to the P2 realistic clone as the elbow strap appears in the references to be the same. Here it is below: Elbow Armor Painted gloss black. Armor has two parallel dashed detail slots on each outside edge of the elbow at the strap connection. Each elbow armor piece has a black rubber or rubber-like strap that is attached to the inner end of the armor and wraps around where the wearer's elbow bends. Each strap has a raised detail line at the top and bottom of the strap. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The inside of the armor is padded to slightly elevate the armor off of the elbow of the wearer.
  3. I figured as much, I think when the color is put into the plastic it probably gives it some strength...or the additive they use to make it clear makes it brittle. Reminds me of when Lego was having QC issues with the red pieces a few years ago That belt looks great now with the color! Glad you had those 37mm weights to hold that stuff down
  4. Yeah the lighting within the show definitely doesn't help us with the finer details it seems. The Hot Toys display image may be a good backup source in conjunction with the toy itself. I'll PM both of you and include the team so that we can get those images sent over.
  5. I wouldn't worry about the transfer. We'll press forward I hope to review that chest piece tomorrow and a few other things with this.
  6. @smoszer and @dewannawanga I've seen a few other display Purge Troopers pictures (from Japan?) that were being linked. If I provide you guys with a Google Drive folder to upload them to via a PM, would you guys be able to do that? I can then get them added to the locked reference images thread.
  7. Thanks! The Upper Arm Armor looked pretty good! Just a few tweaks on it. Upper Arm Armor Right upper arm armor is painted gloss black that matches the rest of armor. Left upper arm armor is painted gloss red. Upper arm armor must sit underneath the shoulder armor. There is a dimple on the lower area of the back of the arm. The outside of the bicep has a hard line edge at the front that turns in. The inside of the upper arm is rounded. There is a small vertical seam line on the inside and on the outside rear of the armor.
  8. There's a few listed on here: Not sure if you checked it out yet or not.
  9. I agree with @RAIDER on this, even more so after it was brought to my attention there was an additional time I was not aware where this was settled. There was an initial discussion detachment to detachment about a transfer, it was not agreed upon, and now we are where we are at. Certainly, if it can always be countermanded then that'd put a lot of costumes on the table pending any new evidence. This needs to be handled in the best interest of the costumers who are working on the costume and that is the angle I'm coming from. We have members here who have come here based on previous decisions to work on the costume and solicit advise. Playing musical costumes with detachments does a huge disservice to our members.
  10. Here is the updated text. I think this should accurately represent the reference images: Shoulder Armor The shoulder bells are considered effectively symmetrical; they may be worn interchangeably on the left and right shoulders. The armor is painted gloss black. The top center is recessed between the two ridges and runs from the top of the shoulder to the bicep and notches into the lower rectangular area. A raised ridge runs along the bottom along the center recessed area and onto each of the two ridges There is a black 1 inch (25.4mm) strap that attaches shoulder armor to shoulder straps from chest and back armor. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Shoulder bells are padded to give the armor the appearance of being elevated off of the bicep armor. There is a webbed strap that runs down and connects bicep armor to shoulder armor.
  11. Got ya, yeah we can make that a L2 detail if anything in that case. I appreciate the clarification. I was wondering if that was the text part that I was not completely understanding, so that makes sense and I have added it to page 1.
  12. Got it, I tried looking back to see and couldn't find it. Doesn't mean it wasn't there though with my eyes I'll probably need to re-watch the scenes with these costumes again to be safe. I'm wondering if that bullet was added so that the armor moves in unison, like derived from that actual scenes playing out. If it was something that was a behind the scenes feature then I'd say we move that to L2.
  13. Nice and quick! Going to take a quick glance at the Shoulder Armor that you all did. I removed the text for the shoulder being connected to the bicep, was there a reason for that that I missed? The rest of it looked pretty good! I cleaned up a few pieces of text in both L1 and L2. Here is the updated text: Shoulder Armor The shoulder bells are considered effectively symmetrical; they may be worn interchangeably on the left and right shoulders.
  14. Depending on the UV light source you may be able to suspend it from something over the armor piece as well.
  15. No worries, friend! Does that modification of the pauldron that I did make sense? Didn't want to get too crazy on the description of it.
  16. I'll check this with the reference photos and see! Not quite sure at the moment other than how the costume is put together and that they have many other Rebels, etc. costumes related to this. I'm not saying that it is going to happen, but that it has been discussed. I'm making every effort to present rationale to keep it within Spec Ops. We should NOT just stop working on it here though, we are still very interested in seeing this completed
  17. @tipperaryred did go through it and look at it but @Dropkick and I have to make sure that it falls in line with the current CRLs and how the LMOs will process it. "Approved" text can still be altered and is not the end all, especially during our review and the LMO review. However, it is possible that the other parts that had "finalized" text could be good, I just haven't gotten to it yet. This should go pretty quickly with the text that I'm looking at. The text that will be input into the CRL prior to the LMO can be found on the first page of this thread. Right now that is the: Helmet, Neck Seal, Under Suit, and hopefully Pauldron.
  18. How are you guys doing? Just wanted to post it here that there is talk about these costumes going to the Bounty Hunters Guild (BHG) detachment with the MW designation. I haven't heard any information in a bit on that but it was brought up to me that it was being sought.
  19. That lighting looks really good under the chest! Are you noticing the clear ABS and such is more brittle than the colored ABS?
  20. On to the Thigh Armor, I think this is pretty standard: Thigh Armor Realistic style thigh armor. Armor is painted satin black. Two white chevron stripes are present on the front of the right thigh. Stripes are approximately 2 inches (50.8mm) wide with a ½ inch (12.7mm) gap in between. Thigh armor has a flat triangle area above the knee which transitions to a ridge line that runs up the front of the thigh to the top edge. Rear of armor has a rounded, indented area. Armor is seamless. No visible traces of how the armor was assembled are shown. Armor has little to no weathering. Any weathering present consists of gray tones.
  21. Thanks guys! I posted a review for the pauldron here to simplify it based on the great work you guys did:
  22. Hey guys, thanks for the hard work on this. I'll be diving into this as well, pinged a few more DCAs to get us through the finish line. @Blackwatch thanks for continuing the oversight on this
  23. I hate to rehash some discussions but I'm going to make this a priority costume for me to review with @tipperaryred and @Dropkick. I'd like to quickly go through each item as we can one more time. We can use what you guys have come up with to start, but I'll be active with this for any adjustments. Pauldron Must be red in color and made from vinyl, leather or leather-like material. The pauldron differs from a standard pauldron in that the edges nearest the shoulder are cut at a 45 degree angle. There will be a black edge at the red area of the pauldron. The red area of the pauldron is made from the same material as the rest of the pauldron. There are 6-7 sections that are stitched around the neck of the wearer before the red area of the pauldron. Any stitching is black. There is an elastic strap that runs under the bicep and is attached to the pauldron with 2 black snaps. The strap is approximately 1/2 inch (12.7mm) wide. The pauldron opens and closes via one opening in the back with an overlapping closure to give the appearance of a singular piece. There is no visible method of the closure method. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): There are 7 sections that are stitched around the neck of the wearer before the red area of the pauldron.
  24. Sorry guys, I didn't realize we didn't have a DCA on this one. I'll have to process each section and sift through it, I'm really sorry. I'll see how fast I can assist.
