You might want to check the Pathfinder forums. One of the Shoretrooper armor choices is 850 and they talk about the armor quite a bit. I'm sure you'll be able to get a good read on them from those folks. Smart idea to check them out before you buy!

The SC bells usually require you to remove about an inch from the bottom. The bells don't have returns like TK armor and it sounds like you've added the angle and rounded them which is excellent. You're looking for about 1-1.5 inches of vest from the edge of your bells. This is one of those pieces that has to be fitted to the wearer so you'll see all sorts of variations there. To me it's really important to get these pieces right because it does make a difference in your overall look. I concur with Steve in that we can really give you a good hack if you could post a pic with your vest and bells. Im 5'9" and my SC bells are shortened quite a bit. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Imperials Special Forces [Star Wars Battlefront 2]
retrofire replied to Darman's topic in Inferno Squad Del Meeko
The JRS already has a CRL team working on this. Might want to drop by there and take a look at what they are doing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
For the blaster check out TD-Eightninesixsix for the blaster. You can PM him via FB. There are a couple of vendors for the DLT that I know of are diamond state props and Hyperfirm weaponry. The scout helmet uses bolts by 3M. The vendor for those is KW Designs you can reach him at kwdesigns2@verizon.net. You may find 3M bolts on amazon or elsewhere but don't buy them as the newer ones don't work or look the same. Hope that helps!

I'm 5'9" and my undersuit is a long so Steve's right on target with his comment. There is a good tutorial for the vest pinned in this forum so give that a read through. If there is any help you need with the cummerbund/cod and pouches let us know and we'll help as much as we can. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

You're a Scout brother do not carry the E11 that's a Stormies territory. Snag yourself a DLT😀 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thermal Detinator.....Help
retrofire replied to c17jetmech's topic in Armor/Soft Parts and Where to Find Them
Sorry to hear that bro that's such a bummer. Maybe PM WTF via FB and see if they can hook you up with the plate and end caps. Even if it's a white set you could always paint to match your Shadow. For my Scout TD I used rare earth magnets for the connection to my belt along with my clips and that thing isn't going anywhere. It's a bit easier to do with my TD since it has a square back but maybe there is something you can do with your armor to "double" secure it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
j Yep that's the stuff I used for my lid. Be sure to scuff up both sides of the locations you are gluing with some sandpaper or fine scotchbrite and clean them with isopropyl alcohol before bonding and give the epoxy and hardener a good mix before applying. Keep in mind once you use this it's permanent so the measure twice cut once rule applies😉
-
You can use CA glue but as Darth Emphatic said don't use it on pieces that require any level of flexing. It can turn pieces white due to the vapor it gives off when curing so if you do use it make sure to use it in areas where you can't see the bond. For the shadow scout bucket I'm building I'm using plastic epoxy that I got at Home Depot. It sets a bit faster than e6000 but like CA glue its permanent.

So are you two wearing a neck seal or a balaclava? I ask as for my Biker Scout I wear a balaclava and my flight suit closes at my neck. It can feel a little confining sometimes and I wonder if a neck seal would be a little more comfortable for my shadow. Thanks!
-
You are reading my mind! I really liked the pouches and grenades on the DT and I was thinking of doing something like that on my shadow for special occasions. I notice your wearing a ribbed neckseal too which I also like.

Ukswrath's Anovos Shadow Stormtrooper Build
retrofire replied to ukswrath's topic in Shadow Stormtrooper
What a great idea with the Velcro. I ended up using hot glue for my scout lid but I like this idea so much better. Thanks for sharing this Tony. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Woot! Looking forward to BBB (big brown box) day is the best. Look forward to seeing this build progress!

So that's what he looks like without his lid😄. The dude on the right is apologizing for not wearing his flak vest to a canon troop. "You're out of uniform mate!". 😆 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Sounds like a great start. I love the SC armor and Jeff has always provided great customer service. I'm building my own helmet and it has been an education but really satisfying. There is a vest tutorial over in the Scout forum that might help and I'll try to hunt down the pattern for the riding patches. When you're ready a good source for the suede is Tandy Leather that's what I used on my flight suit and it's good stuff. For your hold out blaster check out TD Eightninesixsix on FB he has a nice blaster at a good price. Hyperfirm also makes a nice blaster and there are also 3D models floating around and if you have a printer you can possibly make your own. Hope some of this helps and look forward to seeing your WIP thread. Keep posting and let us know if we can be of help. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Ok those are just awesome! Now that we're done ribbing you...except for Steve he can rib you all he wants...here's a shot of my helmet progress. I took me awhile to get up the courage to finally epoxy the visor as I really want to do this great lid justice and make it scary looking like Chef's. The gap at the visor came out a little wider than I wanted so that's a lesson for next time. I also noted that the snout on this helmet indicates it was made by CHEt and I thought I got a Chef helmet😠Next steps are to strengthen the gap area before I fill and sand. I'll probably use the ABS filler method. This where you "melt" scraps of armor in a little Acetone and make a putty out of it. More to come. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I want to go with the silver too. Did you use a Ski lens?

Those freaked my kid right out especially when it was searching for Jyn. Those things are a tad too scary😮

We love ya Jim! I have a thought do a Vader! That would be way more epic than a DT😀

1.) All black. The texture will set the decal off from the rest of the helmet. You're right about the grey. That's for the white armor version. 2.) The snout should also be black but a contrasting one to the helmet finish. With the helmet I am working on now the overall finish is going to be a satin and my snout will be a semigloss. This gives the armor some depth/layering of different finishes. Hope that helps and I hope your build is going great! If you have some time check out Antje's (Furiosa) build over in the Scout forum. Sall has a great one too. They're both Specialists and did amazing jobs on their builds. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Awesome! Stop over and start a Work in progress (WIP) thread with the shadow scouts. There are a couple of us that are working through our builds there and we would love to have another join us. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
