Hey, you ought to post pics of how you build the holster. I'd like to see it. -iz

Awesome! A "weathered" Blackhole! -iz

I just bought the lite kit, so I didn't get the extras, however if I had known it came with a beer, I would have grabbed the full kit instantly! Actually, I would have bought a 6-pack. And I so want to get started on mine! Just have to kick a Mando out, for a friend's project and I'll be good to go. -iz

Put it on the "painted parts," (The gold stripes) but not the naturally glossy plastic parts... Maybe I misread your post earlier. If your kit is a non-glossy one (CAP-W is non-glossy HIPS, but still awesome!) a couple coats of FutureShine will give it a pretty complexion. -iz

Very cool... This was on my list too... of course everything is on my list eventually. I'll be watching this! We have some really good screens somewhere. I'll dig them up for you tomorrow. -iz

Yeah, trim where you need to first, then paint. Then carefully assemble. That way the pieces lay flat while you paint them. Use soft towels to place the painted pieces on during assembly. I wouldn't FutureShine on it. Maybe test it on the inside first and see how it looks, as I could be wrong. Though use some Novus #1 and it'll probably be awesome! -iz

Nice! Ask questions if you need to! And remember the answer to everything is "Give izzi your armor..." -iz

Yep, that's a custom belt shown in the pics. Sounds like you're on the right track. -iz -

Silver tube stripes haven't been approved yet (no references). If you want to try great, but you'll most likely need to change them out for a black or dark blue. -iz ...I just realized that is my helmet in your sig banner. -
I've seen Shadow Scouts approved with a Silver lens, but ultimately it's up to the LMO. No fishhook, and honestly, though some things could be described as a really dark grey in the references, I think they were just meant to be different finishes of black. Straight black from head to toe is the purest form of the Shadow Scout in my opinion. The boots are exactly like TB boots. holster, dog-bone and all. -iz

And if you just want to buy a pauldron, let me know. I can give you the email to the usual guy I get all my misc armor needs from. -iz
-
Nice! Can't wait to see what you choose to do with it! -iz
-
Technically, nothing should be on them, but I put the Spec Ops patch on mine. I'm not sure about measurements. I can measure mine later if you'd like. -iz

You're on the list right behind 138! He's been after a set for ages! Not sure I'm going to let this one go though. After I saw Splat's in person on a sunny day, I was a little jealous, even while wearing my Nova! (Don't tell Splat that, it'll go to his bucket) -iz

That is pretty cool. I still like the Aquatic Assault Trooper better. Personal taste. -iz -
Yay! Are you trimming them down to fit, or is it already a good size for you? -iz

Where are the armor pics? -iz

Awesome! Glad to hear you're still at it. -iz -
Yep, I finally got a story of where the red armor in the garrison came from. Apparently there was the start to a fan film by one of the guys in the garrison, back in 2000, and one of the members in the garrison bought 10 sets of FX armor, 2 of which were red for a scene where Royal Guards got into a battle. Anyway, the white sets have been let go over the years, and he finally let his last red set go. The first red set was sold to another garrison member, who then sold it to me, and I to Splattum after it was all cleaned up. On the net these go for a pretty penny, but most people in our garrison just want the money they paid for it, so even though it's going to take some work, I don't find it as a bad deal at all. Thanks for the reference, but I'll see what I can do first. The vote of confidence is appreciated. 1: Thanks, I'm going to need it! 2: From what I understand, naturally glossy red ABS is hard to get a hold of. Also due to the relatively low demand for it, armor makers can't sell enough kits to justify buying the bilk it would take to make it affordable. GT the original maker of FX pulled some in 2000 but I don't think any have been done since. -iz

Alright, everyone saw the gem I had before... Then I let Splattum have it. Well, I've run across another! But, this one is in even worse shape, complete with a break on the back plate where one of the shoulder straps connect and multiple discolorations here and there. This will be a fun project to see if the armor can be resurrected, or I'll break down crying if the 501st loses a set of natural red armor. There is some hope. there are two sets of the plastic belt, so If I butcher 3 of the panels, I may be able to both expand the thighs and fix that back plate if I add a little bondo and paint. -iz
-
Glad to hear they got that figured out! Let the pauldron wearing commence! -iz
-
I'll be honest, I don't check my email often, but they can reach me via pm on the Legion boards. I'm izzi, the same as here. -iz

They're up in the Reference thread. The LMO announced it as well when the last Magma was approved. Have your GML contact me if he needs to and I'll point him to the LMOs post. Until early this year pauldrons were considered custom accessories, so I wouldn't expect your GML to have really heard of the change. -iz
