  1. Very. Mine was a stroke of luck, honestly. Now Splattum owns it. They were a limited run pulled in 2000 I think, so besides picking up one used, you can't get one at the moment. However, as Spec Ops members have been very successful in painting armor black and gold, I'm sure you could do the same with red. -iz
  2. Pinned it in the Armor tips and tricks section. This is too much of an armor and trooping essential to be in the Cantina. -iz
  3. Hey ya! Honestly, I've never seen gloss hips, though if you can find red HIPS at all you could probably just cover it with some future shine to get a nice effect. Though if you just paint it a nice gloss red and hit it with future shine, it'll look great and protect it nicely as well. Having worked with the GT red armor run now, the ABS plastic that was used then actually turns an orange if it gets bent or scratched and the only way to repair it is to gently heat the spot, until it returns to it's red color. It is such beautiful armor though. Probably my second favorite to the black and gold scheme. -iz
  4. The other boards are also still up until we're sure everything that needs to get over here makes it. -iz
  5. Well it was worth a shot! -iz
  6. Can she make me a pair? PPPPPLLLLEEEAAAAAASSSEEEEE! -iz
  7. Umm... Because it wasn't given it's own category on the old forums so I forgot? I'm just bringing over the Resource Pics, any thing you developed about the armor, feel free to start a new thread over here and transfer the information. We'll give the its own category when it has some solid clear references for people to work from. -iz
  8. A price hasn't been named yet, for the armor so I have no clue. Unless we want to start figuring out what percentage of we're buying. And that's true, Maybe if we take it right to tupperware TK, he'll split up a full suit of armor and ship them straight to us. -iz
  9. Glad you liked it. I would have had more screen time, but I had an armor malfunction. -iz
  10. Another reason I moved it was because this costume is approved, and great to use as a reference in costume builds -iz
  11. Which nova picture? The card or mine? -iz
  12. Nice looking armor! Love the lens! Moved the topic to the appropriate section. For the purposes of defining difference in the armor, the black scout is called the Shadow Scout (like the hasbro Shadow Scout fig) and the Storm Commando has many custom armor pieces that deviate from the original Scout. -iz
  13. Great to see the thread made it over here! Are you going to finish it this weekend? -iz
  14. Then if you must, start the banter up again... I'll give you a lead in... So Splat, you're one lucky guy to get a Magma!
  15. Minetroopers: No visual references other than a TK with a mine. We'll leave that to FISD if they want to pursue it. Supposedly their is a text reference that speaks of minetroopers having a different colored armor. I can't find the "official" root source for it though. Hand of Judgement Stormtroopers: only one visual reference, and they look like TKs with maybe different tube stripes? FISD should probably handle that one as well. That should be it. I believe everything with full front and back references got their own topics and everything with incomplete references are included here. -iz
  16. EU trooper costume from the Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy video game:
  17. The references for the Air Troopers were gone when I went to transfer them. If you have references, post them here. Make sure they aren't just a phase of the Dark Troopers. DT phase 0, II and III had jet packs.
  18. A friend of mine asked me if I could make a TI/IG back for him, and I did: Here's the mold showing that it is indeed mine: And here is a finished piece On me for sizing: And next to a (custom painted) Snow Trooper chest for sizing: I've already done some reworking of the mold to smooth out some rough spots I didn't see until I made the first pull. But the main reason I'm showing this is because I was looking at what I could use to speed this thing along. So I cut a hole in the back and painted it red! I realized after I painted it that I should have cut in the back strip (see the ref pic for that) so I'm planning on making even further mods to turn this into a CG back. If I do go into production :$ I'll make a mold specifically for this, but I like it for now. Also, I've decided to not use the lower leg pieces for my custom Mando anymore, so I plan on repainting them to work for this costume. David.
  19. Hello everyone! It's been very slow going on this set, but I haven't forgotten about it. I just haven't had any extra cash lying around to work on it in any significant way. But, hopefully I can get back to it soon. I actually did get the lower leg armor done for my custom Mandalorian character. I formed them out of trash cans and you can see the video I made on how to do it .Here (they) are painted red using the mustard technique for weathering. And this is the final for my custom showing how they sit on the legs. I'm also thinking about changing the molding process, scrapping the ones I have already made for ones I'm working on that are closer to the correct TK sizes and modify them for this. David.
  20. One pic today. I got the first layer of Bondo on the upper part of the chest. Next will be the lower half of the chest. David.
