  1. I just wanted to respond to this comment, our team are very responsive in the GML section of the main legion forums, so either will suffice If you are finding you are not getting timely responses from the detachments there I would raise this with the LMO team so they can follow up with the relevant detachments
  2. Yes, and if you agree to the terms and conditions we will make sure you get them!
  3. Yeah so this is a difference between between Shadow Troopers and Shadow Scouts
  4. Hopefully the weather will improve enough for you to be able to do some work!
  5. Yeah I prefer the satin/matt look personally. Glossy is for the showboats ?
  6. Thanks everyone for continuing the work, looking good! Strap appears to be fixed to the sides but not all the way around. There is some buckling of the strap in one of the references supporting this. Not sure I like the term Googles worn on the brim, maybe something like "placed just above the brim as shown in pics..."? The lens is both missing and not in some shots, however I think it would nice to include the lens as a requirement in the CRL. Although I'm not sure how people would feel about that?
  7. I was looking through all the reference materials here and over on the IOC thread, can we please have a confirmation of the general colour of the armor? I may have missed something somewhere? When I look at the colour of the armour compared to some other items I get a sense of a very dark grey/green, especially when compared to the straps, trim etc. I chucked a couple of reference images into photoshop and did some colour correction and supports my assumption, but I also know that surrounding reflections, lighting and filters used in post production that have an impact on what we see. @fb501 @Tarrif Maybe you guys can confirm? I saw somewhere that Fraser said the chin cup strap was also grey, but what about the chin cup itself? Is the buckle at the back of the helmet also affixed?
  8. I should state that it is unclear how and where the goggles are affixed to the helmet. Is the buckle at the back of the helmet strap affixed? Is it the goggle frame? All of the above? We should probably stick to more generic specifics in this case.
  9. That's a great question. I think they should be shown as affixed to the helmet however wording the text in a manner that states they are affixed but can be separate pieces and not a single molded piece. My understanding is the production helmets had the goggles as separate and have glued(?) them to the helmet. I'm not sure of the method used to affix them, but as long as they appear fixed is probably good. I'm not sure how we could ascertain how things are affixed when trying to assess for L1 or L2?
  10. Yes, standing up a detachment requires the following at a minimum: Project Plan - who is doing what and when Funding - for web hosting, domain etc New Detachment Proposal - what do you seek to achieve? What is the intended CRL library? Are you taking costumes from more than on Detachment? Change Plan / Communications - all members need to be consulted. What is in it for them? Who else is impacted/other detachments? etc etc Staff - make sure you have enough skilled resources to not only form a detachment, but run it effectively going forward DWM - someone skilled in setting up forum software and migrating data DCAs need skilled costume builders to be able to provide advice and guidance - also people who are familiar with CRL creation DL, XO, DPRO, DMBO etc Logos/branding and detachment mission statement. Web hosting, software configuration, domain name registration and Data Migration Plan Those are a few things off the top of my head.
  11. From the visual resources I would suggest that the telemetry unit be placed in line with/on the strap and concur that fixed goggles be a L2 optional. It would be great if we could get a nice clean shot of the telemetry unit
  12. Hi all, the Imperial Army Troopers as seen on Andor are coming to Spec Ops. As for the formation of a new detachment that is up to you the membership. I will leave this discussion open and in the meantime I’m going to review all the feedback left so far and see what we can do to align with member expectations.
  13. Hey there, the steel mesh is definitely viewable and the black backing material (while not specifically viewable in some reference pics) is seen on the Anovos reproductions and we can tell from the references that no light is passing through the mesh, therefore must have some kind of backing to prevent light from passing through. I think what the team are trying to show you is that the mesh is glued directly to the helmet which then can be backed with the black material after. If they showed you the finished piece you wouldn't be able to see the mesh. I hope this makes sense.
  14. I haven't really spoken much about this topic because I wanted to hear from everyone first (and I moved from Sydney to Perth which is around 4000km). You guys are the boots on the ground and it is my opinion that the membership drives these conversations. I don't currently hold an IA costume, but have been seriously considering as a cool option for being able to travel with. I think everyone has made some great points and even learned some new things along the way, so thank you! My own personal opinion is; it makes me sad to think about the IA leaving Spec Ops, not just because they're cool characters but because the founding members of the IA were outright rejected in the beginning and our Detachment took them on so without Spec Ops, there would be no Imperial Army! If there is one thing I have learned about our detachment is that we never shy away from any task, no matter how cool it might be or how much work it is involved - we get stuck in! The IA detachment discussion has come up before and we always assumed that if the membership grew to a point where it could be sustainable then we would support that 100%. In the meantime our focus has been on growing the Imperial Army and ensuring we have specialist staff available to guide members through their builds, which I think we have done very well. As for the new troopers from Andor, both Spec Ops and IOC have made a claim to the Andor troopers and it is currently under vote with the LMO team. I have stated that we currently hold the library for all Imperial Army troopers and we should logically be the home irrespective of any detachment placement (existing or future). I also stated that there are a lot of visual similarities between these new troopers and the Mudtroopers. The vote is up for seven days and we will know the outcome from that point on.

  16. Apologies if I come across as hostile, I am just direct and to the point. From my perspective I just want to help you in the most efficient way possible, so understanding what you intend to do is important. If I can summarise this conversation; you do not wish to pursue CRL revision and will build your costume to the current CRL. Is this correct?
  17. Thanks for the reminder on how we operate, however I’m not entirely sure what you are trying to communicate now. Can you please state clearly what your goal is here?
  18. Hi all I have been hearing about discussion about Imperial Army should have its own detachment and it has since branched off into several discussions. Some of the ideas discussed have been as follows: 1. Create new detachment 2. Create Detachment Squads 3. Move Imperial Army to IOC I know a lot of people don’t really bother with the main forums and I feel like there have been a lot of discussions outside of the detachment where the Imperial Army resides, so want to extend the opportunity to you here to discuss freely. We took the Imperial Army when no one else wanted to, and have been proud to watch it grow. The formation of a separate detachment has been discussed before but at the time no one had the appetite to follow through. Maybe now there is enough people, time and money to attempt a project of this size. It is likely that any of the options above will require a huge amount of work. The Detachment Squad idea would probably represent the least amount of work with the formation of a new detachment being the most. If there is enough appetite amongst Imperial Army members we can put it to a formal vote and give some weight to the larger discussion. But I really want to hear from the membership and will support you 100%
  19. Congratulations @Fivezero you are the first TFU Jumptrooper! Well done!

  21. Yep they check out, I managed to grab their renders as well
  22. Hey Andy I was going to answer your PM but instead I will address it here with a disclaimer; we have not discussed this properly yet as a team. To answer your question up front, there is no plan to update/align the CRL to the RotJ Biker Scout. The Shadow Scout is arguably problematic for a few reasons Naming of Shadow Scout - We have more references that point to the name Storm Commando than Shadow Scout. There is probably some historical discussion buried in the old Zeta boards about this. I have heard that even Storm Commando was introduced later and that the original was far different than what we have as our CRL. References do not support an open collar. The current CRL does not match the game references in some instances. Aligning fully with the RotJ Scout for the sake of ease will cause drift from the actual references. It is certainly worthwhile of discussion and while we certainly try to align our CRLs where we can, I do not think it is as simple as saying "the Biker Scout CRL is X, therefore Shadow Scout = X too". I am more than happy to open a more full discussion about the subject and if we have enough evidence we can look at proposing changes to the CRL @RAIDER@furiosa
