  1. Not too bad. I'd lower the biceps just a bit. Nice job so far!
  2. Cool picture! Hey...the girl behind you is missing her smoke...!?
  3. This is a great thread Diz...I also dig the super glue and t-shirt scrap method. I've done that on a few parts too over the last year. I prefer Gorilla Glue since it's sort of thicker, but as you say it soaks into shirt material quickly and sets in 10 secs or less.
  4. Thanks for posting the link Toddo. Good stuff and reference material.
  5. Don't be embarrassed. We all learned this stuff too and sharing is part of the community fun! Now waiting? Ya, I've been there too. But, you should contact the seller and touch base...
  6. Snaps are like buttons similar to a jacket. You can use them to snap and/or unsnap an attachment. Rivets are used to permanently attach a part and/or a section. See below: I have snaps on my suspender system that correspond to the armor parts. For my setup, the holster is riveted to the belt. The sniper plate is also riveted to the L shin.
  7. Welcome to the Spec Ops site! Good to have you on board with us!
  8. After like 26 years with glasses, I got LASIK in 2007. Best decision I could have made. The Storm Commando bucket has more room so you might be able to make that work with glasses.
  9. Let's rock...!

  10. I showed my wife and she was like "dude, that is seriously messed up looking...!" So...nice job man. She rarely comments on this stuff!
  11. Congrats, I've updated your profile to reflect Spec Ops!
  12. This has been one of the best build threads yet...can't wait to see you in full gear.
  13. Sweet truck...I look at that pic and expect it to turn into an Autobot Transformer or something!
  14. Someone call Vader...this trooper has 2 right hands!
  15. Um...yes I did. Oh well...! Congrats Chris!
  16. My chest/back parts are done that way. This mirrors my TK setup and is the preferred method at FISD. But, I used Gorrilla Glue to secure the straps on the front. I have elastic on the underside which allow it to open and close as I put it on. Plus, I don't need any straps to hold the "clam shell" front/back together.
  17. Definitely paint the helmet screws red as Josh out above. You may need to rework the shoulder straps a bit if the Velcro becomes difficult. I originally had a similar setup but redid them by using elastic underneath the front/back joins, then glued the front part of the strap and used elastic ties to "float" the back straps. This is similar to how the original troopers were done in ANH. http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/1979-n00b-starting-to-piece-armor-together/page__st__60
