  1. Great tip...Eastbay gear rocks.
  2. The Arakyel lid is a great helmet. I got mine without padding and then added my own style of padding. It has plenty of room for fans, mics, or whatever you desire. It's similar in size to the CAP, AP or RS style helmets.
  3. For the support of the ab/butt parts, most of us use a suspender type system. I bought some cheap 2" suspenders at Wal-Mart and added snaps to them and on the inside of the armor. I did have suspenders with clamps, but they wore out after a few troops. The last thing you want is your suspender system to fail. See below... I also used Gorilla Super glue for mine and for all my armor costumes. It cures quick and lasts. I'm not certain about the glue in the link you provided. It may or may not be work for your armor.
  4. Yep, that is also a good option. It only takes about 3 hours of so to cure, but you'll still want to wait at least 8 before wearing the armor.
  5. Hey Nick...looking good. I'll let the Nova guys weigh in on the gold color. Nice hookup on the fans, clamps, and Nomex gloves. Your hands will love you after a long troop. One comment: E6000 is great for most things, but does melt if it heats up. I typically use this for greeblies, helmet parts, webbing/snaps, etc. I use an ABS/solvent compound and/or Gorilla Super glue to actually chemically bind the armor parts. That last thing you want is for the parts to come undone while trooping. E6000 is an awesome glue, but does take around 20-24 hours to cure totally. My 2 cents...
  6. Good deal! If you have any questions, make sure to ask! We're all friendly here...
  7. That would be a DLT-19. The Sandtroopers in ANH also carried these blasters.
  8. Well said Chef... IMO...even the traditional Biker Scouts get illustrated differently than what is seen in the movie. Note the gloves, biceps, and lack of forearms on this guy. But, it's an artists rendering so it slides. I prefer the term Storm Commando, which further separates the character from the traditional Biker Scouts.
  9. Hey there...good to see another upcoming Shadow Stormtrooper in the ranks. Nice choice! There are several different methods of strapping and harnessing, but it really comes down to what suits you. If you've never done this type of costuming, it'll be new to you but really fun once you get going. We have some really good troops here on the site and we'll all help you through the process. Take a look at this thread for some tips/tricks from Trooper. He's an awesome guy on this site: http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/1481-shadow-stormtrooper-build/page__fromsearch__1
  10. I (and others) have this helmet. It's awesome and Chris does a fine job.
  11. Keep in mind Wookiepedia is not a controlled source. It has inconsistencies and incorrect data at times.
  12. My chest/back parts are done similar to Todd's suggestion. This mirrors my TK setup and is the preferred method at FISD. But, I used Gorrilla Glue to secure the straps on the front. I've found that E6000 is awesome for most things, but will come undone in extreme heat. It gets too hot here in Texas.
  13. Thanks for your support!

  14. Good, we're glad to have you on board with us for sure!
  15. Great work on this Mearl. I can't wait to see the finished product.
  16. Wait a sec...buy a tank?! Now that's ambitious!
  17. Ya, I know...shipping really takes its toll. I shipped a blaster to Marcel a few months back and it cost a ton. That trip across the pond is expensive!
  18. The things Woodchuck creates are really cool. He is a bit pricey, but I know his DC-15 is a work of art. Those look pretty nice. We just need Chef to offer his awesome wares and armor over here in the US.
  19. Vote for me as DL in the 501st Legion's Election 2013!

  20. Very cool and creepy mask. I've seen plenty of TK-style death troopers. I can't wait to see yours Mearl!
