  1. If you don't already have one, get on an image hosting site like PhotoBucket, or Image Shack, etc. You can upload your images to them, and then link the pic here on the site. They are typically free.
  2. You may be seeing his ab/kidney plates coming together underneath...with the chest/back overlap on-top. Should be fine for general clearance. And hey...dirty armor is an active "Rebel slaying" trooper!
  3. Good deal Chris! If you need any help, just post your pics and questions. Have fun!
  4. Other than the shoulders...looks good John. Do you have an updated pic?
  5. I would not go that route. Will PM more details...
  6. Unfortunately, no...those will not pass. The issue are the seams and the incorrect elastic on the inside/outside. They do look good but are just not what you need for the costume. I picked mine up on eBay and have seen different brands and types online. They should look similar to what I have below. I sent you a PM with some options.
  7. A fellow Spec Ops Member...he's very cool. http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/user/19-scootch/
  8. IMHO...in the end "how you look" is what is important. If you follow the Shadow Stormtrooper CRL, you will be fine. The coolest part of costuming is when you come up with your own way of doing something, or see how someone else did it and modify their take on it. So, if you want to use magnets for the shin closure in the back, go for it. I have picked up tons of little tips and tricks along my path and have considered magnets too. I prefer Velcro in the back of the shin with the front part glued, but that's just me. I'm working on several upgrades as I prepare for Specialist so if I can help, let. We're all family here. Just keep in mind that your approval pics and how you look are what matter and your GML will use them to evaluate your costume.
  9. Well...are you building a Clone, or a Shadow Stormtrooper? The clone armor is a little different and the approvals for those costumes can be more picky than a typical Stormtrooper. Of course, it all depends on your GML.
  10. I agree! You kind of learn as you go based on your costume and issue. Once your setup is completed, you will find things to tweak and update.
  11. You can find this on Amazon.com as well. Not sure what the shipping cost is on there though...
  12. Hey there, great update! Info below and I would get the large size. Silver Lenses AFX Fast Shield @ Motorcycle-Superstore.com
  13. Iz & BH gave you some great advice. I use a 2 piece setup with Underarmour compression pants and a regular Underarmour top. I've got a 1 piece scuba undersuit but prefer the 2 piece for ease of bio-breaks. Look around and see what works best for you. You can find boots online at various sources. I did a quick scan on eBay this morning and there are a few options. Black ankle boot option...
  14. Awesome work so far Rob! As always, your stuff is great!
  15. No doubt, cool ink man. When I was looking at joining the 501st, this pic really helped me decide on the Shadow Stormtrooper.
  16. Depends on what you need... Check out this topic --> "Where to buy..."
  17. Over time and trooping, mine has become "weathered". Very cool idea. However, best to get your trooper costume in order, get approved, then worry about weathering. I did paint my chin Vocoder flat black, and it looks cool to me. Also, from the Shadow CRL: "Lenses must be sufficiently dark enough to obscure the costumer's eyes. They may be flat or bubbled. Acceptable colors are: black, smoke, dark green, or silver." You can read more here: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_shadow_stormtrooper
