Death Trooper CRL - First draft

Yeah. L2 clearance - although I would assume level 2 is a baseline for specialist as well? When I get to building this costume I would like to aim as high as possible. So if having original Dr Martens Jared boots is a prerequisite- I would like to start the nigh on impossible search for them. I think the only possible way to get them now is through second hand!

Mark I started to think Jereds would be impossible, but lucked out on ebay. I had a search notification saved with ebay so if any auctions started with "Dr Marten Jered" came up I got an email. I got my pair this way.

That's pretty lucky! I also set up the notification! I have also contacted Dr Martens. Gone through their end of run suppliers/discount warehouse partners. Extensive Google searching. Social Media reach and even visited vintage clothing and secondhand clothing/shoe shops.

Not even close to finding a pair.

At this stage I reckon the best bet is to find a similar base boot and have it altered. Still crossing my fingers and toes though :)

Soooo how many are following the poop storm about the CRL and 15 verses 16 cogs over on the FB DT Builder's page?

I certainly am. It's an issue which should certainly be seriously discussed. Given the amount of people it could potentially effect and money which could be involved for people, it's important to look into.

I believe it's certainly an issue which should be addressed. Keeping in mind many appreciate the work which went into the CRL, we also really understand the need to have a less restrictive base CRL. The idea behind this is that it benefits all who want to be a part of this particular costume, not just the perfectionist but also the less picky who still want a great, accurate costume but do not either want or have the ability to get it right down the the mm in each rib or count or slots in a back piece cog or lines in the sole of a shoe. Being less restrictive retains the fun for all but still keeps the basic shape and accuracy of the suit for all. And in the end, that's all we are all here for is fun, to troop together , celebrate Star Wars and give back to those in need. So let's not take that opportunity away from people.

It looks like it has! Great news! Truly great news! Many thanks so those involved and more importantly, leadership for being open to everyone's concerns. This says volumes about your willingness to work with members and be open to all who want to be involved with the organization! Kudos to you!
