IcyTrooper[CMD-DL]
Yep I think it'll be your GML's call as @Blackwatch stated, but being a GML myself I think what will help yours is the "similar heavy material bit". I can't speak for them but as long as it looks heavy you'd be fine in my eyes. Checking with the GML as you are doing is a great idea! Link to comment

Yeah I checked with him and he sees no issue with the duck cloth. He even said it looks similar to the belts made by TKittle. 1 Link to comment

Rat[501st]
So finishing up closing the thigh and forearms. I think I'm right about to the 85% Mark for main construction. 1 Link to comment
Rat[501st]
Then the clean up and some painting. Boots and the thigh ammo pack (due to It being a replacement and way off color). So close. Still need my belt and to get some silicone hand plates but I'm working on that one. 2 Link to comment

I believe that Plastic Arms Dealer sells the 3D print file if you are just needing someone to print it. They have a website: https://www.plasticarmsdealer.com/ 1 Link to comment
Rat[501st]
@IcyTrooper so I was a bit confused, but after looking through that link I figured it out. So thigh and forearms are off the clamps, but still have them taped for another day or so. Now it's on to boot prep for paint. I have the soles taped off and I'll do a quick sand with some either 1000 or 1200 grit sandpaper. I can't remember if the elastic should be black or red and if it matters. 1 Link to comment
IcyTrooper[CMD-DL]
The elastic U-shaped section should be red. Even though it isn't defined in the text part of the CRL it is in the picture and criterion for review of a costume includes both the text AND picture. I will explore possibly adding this as clarification in the pending CRL just so that there is no confusion. Link to comment

Rat[501st]
BFG possibly being attained. My XO is possibly going to print me up one. 1 Link to comment
Rat[501st]
Belt and thigh ammo pack trimmed and ready to go. Here you can see the color difference in the plastics. So the reason for painting and color matching, not really an easy task. 2 Link to comment

Allan1313[MBO-CMD]
Yeah that is quite a difference in color. You are doing real good on the build. Should be done in no time. 1 Link to comment
Rat[501st]
Yeah it is just getting the shins double checked and glued. Then painting the thigh ammo pack and boots. After that I can get the sniper knee and thigh ammo pack attached and then it is just strapping. Still need my belt and silicone hand plates, Link to comment

Rat[501st]
So I got to the paint. The match is alright, but I couldn't find anything closer really. Top is the belt and base color of the kit, the bottom is the replacement thigh ammo belt and color match paint. Boots with base kit color. Base color, paint match and the paint color from my first set of boots. So this just leaves greying the shins done and strapping and belt. Link to comment
Rat[501st]
Test fitting the body and getting the spacing worked out. I'm hoping that I can pull it in close enough to pass for specialist approval. Chest and ab first. Ab to kidney connection. Thigh fitting. Next up is finishing the shins. 1 Link to comment
RAIDER[COTG]
Just saw a FB post by a Jeff Woodward offering SE-14 3d print (files or printed). Might be worth a look 1 1 Link to comment

Might be worth a look I saw that as well, but I think I may go with my E-11 for now and I may be getting a DLT'20a. However I may go for the SE-14R later on. Just doing my snap plates and starting the strapping now. Been in contact with SKittle about a belt. I'm also looking into getting a color match paint through a automotive place here because even though my GML is okay with the color match I have it just isn't right to me. I'm also looking into frog juice to seal it. 2 Link to comment
Rat[501st]
So I did a quick test fitting of the chest with the bucket, still need to work out padding and mount the lenses. I've also broken down and decided to add some shins as Walt's kit is a bit snug in the middle for me. So I've cut the shins and test fit them, but I'm not sure if I should use some acetone or E-6000 for adding them. I also just ordered my belt from Rob Kittle So that should be here by the end of the week. Link to comment
Rat[501st]
So in the immortal words of Anakin, "This is where the fun starts". Cut out and fit the shins I'll be adding to the kidney plate. There's gonna be a lot of filling with the abs paste as my split rivets didn't want to come out, That's alright though it will or should allow me to reach specialist. I've also added some reinforcement to the ab plate and incorporated my snaps into them. I'll do elastic on one side with nylon webbing on the other. Really close now, just waiting on the final bits for construction, Belt and I still need to check into paint. 1 Link to comment
