awesome more magamas Think the gentle giant is a also a resource for magma builds. I think that would be something to look at regarding the CRL and what not. Thanks for the tip.
-
What they all said and there might be some up for sale in the 501st forum if you have access. check with ata he is a great guy and can probably help you out.Magma is an awesome costume
-
lol I actually have a bounty hunter guild, JRS, and clonetrooper detachment ids but the only one i use is the bounty hunter since im working on a deathwatch costume. Its too much time to log on to every single one of them things but i spend most my time on spec ops of course we are awesome yay! Those boots look pretty good. I guess they must have had enough of a need which im surprised considering we dont have alot of magmas. At least it makes it easier for folks look for boots.

Here is a quick tip for anyone having issues painting and maintaining those ruby red boots "There are two types of paint that are very great for getting the colors you want for your boots. The first time is a flexible brush-on acrylic specifically made for leather-type fabrics called "Angelus." It can only be bought online but you can mix them to perfectly match the color you want. The other type of paint I prefer is a spray-on shoe painted called "Meltonian." Meltonian is sold at Dr. Shoe Repair at the University Mall and is also sold online. If you are going the Meltonian route, I recommend that you first strip the protective layer of the boot by rubbing it all over with an acetone cotton ball. To get a nice shiny finish, I recommend polishing it all off with Angelus High-Gloss, though you may not need it so just get it at your discretion. And I would start with black if you are doing Angelus since it is more obvious what parts need more coats. Do white if you are going the Melatonian route." I acquired this from a fellow costumer and I myself bought the black judhors and used the Angelus red and fire red to paint my magma trooper boots. I have so far had to touch up paint at the end of each year as i troop alot in terms of maintenance. Hopefully this is helpful and if anyone has other tips feel free to post replies Also there is word that someone is making red boots now check out this thread: http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/3094-magma-boots/

Is it possible to post a pic? I dont have an FISD and i really dont want to make one....
-
We have a couple at the university that is free to students and we dont have to provide anything. So I definitely could do that but if its not going to be durable enough then that might not work out as well as I was hoping for.
-
Well see im not so sure how this all works and what the capabilities are as I have no experience building armor from scratch. I thought maybe it would be possible to 3d print a costume possibly but that seems like it isnt the case it seems you have to make molds and vacuum form and pull etc which is way over my head. Not to mention I dont have access to that type of equipment at all. Thanks for letting me know though. Awesome for making the models too. I still would like to make a sithtrooper commander at some point though.
-
So I have access to a couple 3d printers and wanted to know if those files are still for sale? Thanks
-
Thank you for the break down now I see clearly what you are talking about. Well hopefully in the future we can get some Sith Trooper Commandos out I definitely cant wait to see your finished Sith Trooper it is going to look awesome!!!
-
Ok I will have to look a bit more in depth at it as I didn't notice the subtle differences. Cool Thanks
-
Question will there be any potential red sithtrooper pulls for the commanders?
-
Cool. Thanks for continuing to update. I like the images of the armor pieces they are really looking good and its coming together nicely.
-
looks amazing. I still definitely want a helmet Hopefully in the future I can get a kit and make the shadow evo trooper
-
You are doing a great job. If you need any advice about getting the boots red let me know. The left shoulder bell looks to be "flaring out" a bit more than the right one. Is there any space between your thigh and shin armor? I do believe it just needs a small space in between those two things. Are you going for specialist? your armor is looking real good so far keep up the great work ya.
-
looking good nice to see you still working on this and making progress
-
Yay glad you are making progress. Looks good so far
-
Hello Oh ok sorry things didnt work out for you the first time. I find it to be rather neat build and may end up a future project of mine. thanks for getting back to me. sorry your first post didnt post.
-
So i see the last post on this was 2 years ago, I am curious to know if this project was ever completed? The work on this must have been tremendous reading the posts and looking at the pics. I must say this costume has peeked my interest, the red version of course.

ATA/CAP Magma Trooper (Cancelled - see pg. 7)
DeathMOS30 replied to mikedwelle94's topic in Crimson Stormtrooper
No problem, besides the BHG could use some work in my opinion. Yeah my progress had to stop as I am starting grad school in the fall and I had cancel the shadow evo trooper until further notice so I understand. times be tough I hope they finish the pyro pack before the end of the year that would be nice but so far it does look good and I cant wait until they are finished. Yeup there is plenty of time for costuming so no rush. I look forward to when you start the swamp trooper hopefully it will be a litlle less complicated and easier for you to put together. So yay -

I must say I find that interesting in Maine the mercs have more presence down here in Tampa and in Florida in general complete opposite lol. Well everything varies from state to state so its all good. Im still working on my Deathwatch Torch so I will see you on the BHG Forums . Awwww well you have to do whats best for you so that is understandable. You can always be on the detachment boards if you would like but I know if ya have to move on you just have to move on. Im sorry things got too costly and you couldnt finish the MT but it will be cool to see you work on your death trooper ive never seen one before actually Goodluck with everything and thanks for keeping us informed and up to date -
