  1. The boots arent right in front of me, but the toes look fine to me from the picture.
  2. Sounds like a solid plan. I am looking forward to how thing shape up.
  3. If wonder why you wouldn't want to go full bore with 501st approval if you are eseentially putting your friend 85% there anyway. Id also talk it over with your CO becauae it can get awkward if you are going to a convention and 'trooping' officially, but your bringing in someone that isnt approved. Just might be a good conversation to have. This is just me speaking, but id rather find someone with some cheap B pulls rhat could be fixed than the work you are talking about putting in. Sounds like you already have some legitimate psrts to use. For those you dont, I'd consider hitting up Scootch on these boards.
  4. Novus polish can be great. They have 3 levels. I would try each of them in turn. Also, I have taking sand paper toarmor before sanding out the spot and taking it all the way up, one increment at a time, to 15000 grit. It returned to a full shine for me. I wouldnt hesitate to hit up the kit builder either. Your kit shouldnt arrive with a ton of scratches. Maybe more so if its an unfinished one you have to paint, but not if it is already gloss.
  5. I don't have pictures, but the most common method is to get a large round neodymium magnet and insert it into the transistor part (round bit) on the grip. Add another on the back of the holster in the same place and they should hold together when you put the blaster in the holster.
  6. With how the general climate has changed for costume references since the time this was really being discussed back in 2012, I agree, if we can get one built Do it! You've got my full support.
  7. I love the akers. Great amp. I Have the icomm, but never use it. Couldnt ever get it to work right and its the second oe ive had.
  8. Not sure what happened to the armor. The costume has very limited references, which makes it tough for full approval, but I'd love to see more of them out there.
  9. Love it! So excited to see these come through.
  10. Ive used the strap method for years. I like it best as even boots with skinner tops still like to ride up.
  11. The nice thing is the blood from the dremel just blends right in
  12. Let me know once it comes through and we'll get your access updated.
  13. I updated the chest section in the draft CRL to flesh out the red markings more. I am open to any better way to word this, so fire away. The chest plate overlaps the abdominal plate. The entire chest plate is black save for red Special Forces markings The center-top of the chest plate is recessed and black on the side and upward facing edges. A smaller clasp greeblie shall be present on each side of the chest, just inside a small indented area the size of the greeblie. There is a slight groove running vertical on each lateral side of the chest that angles toward the center The red Special Forces marking runs from the center-bottom to the top-left of the chest from the wearers perspective. The red Special Forces markings continue to the shoulder strap section of the chest plate, not quite horizontal to the primary markings. The gap between the markings from the primary chest plate to shoulder strapping should line up. The red Special Forces markings on the shoulder strap section also runs down from the horizontal markings to the inside of the strap. Six recessed black ovals are on the wearer's right side, left of the greeblie.
  14. Ya, we are just playing around because of how bad the figure is.
  15. FYI - I created a reference photo thread here. I think we are ready for next steps. Stay-tuned.
  16. There are definitely differences, but what ive noticed so far are all mostly existing parts (even if from random sources). It probably wont support its own costume, but a variant of the existing - we'll approach that when the time comes. I look forward to reading your review.
  17. Not that I am aware. Most of that stuff gets done in a vacuum by the studios.
  18. Some cool stuff. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. A picture speaks a thousand words, for me, anyway.
  19. I've inserted trimmed photos into the CRL body for reference. While not complete, this is a good start. Thanks for the PS help TC Richardson.
