  1. I don't disagree that it is an integral part of the armour However I suspect that with the armour being fibreglass the rubber has been laminated into the glass during the moulding process rather than being glued in afterwards. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  2. If you look at the thigh armour from this angle you can also see the velcro I mentioned (Circled in red). There is an extension of the rear armour plate that wraps around the inside of the thigh and is overlapped by the front plate, and in fact in this photo has previously snapped off (Circled in blue). You can also see that the inner thigh rubber passes behind the front thigh plate (green). Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  3. Agreed. However I suspect the outer thigh strip of rubber is there to provide some flexibility in the armour when the wearer is mobile (bearing in mind they are highly mobile: running, etc). The inner rubber panel is overlapped by the armour and probably attaches to it forming a connection between front and rear plates. The cable tie/rubber band seen in the promo photo of the DT running through the water is probably there because the connection was not strong enough. In support of this you can see velcro (the hook part) exposed at the back of the knee on the right side of the photo in your post. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  4. I agree. I think that it is made out of the same sewn 6mm ribbed material that used for the gaskets. I also think that there is either a velcro strip with loops for the laces to which the spat is attached or the lace loops are sewn directly to the back of the spat. 5. Here's a frontal shot from Chris' reference photos: Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  6. To be fair they have said the boot in the photo is a prototype so hopefully the production item will be closer to the mark. With the necessary features present. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  7. I have seen that! As far as I can tell they are recreating the boot from scratch and the flat sole does not have the destinctive horizontal ribbing that is so obvious a feature in the reference photos, and the flat sole and ribs are the only recognisable features! Personally, I am concerned that this will result in a dumbing down of tge level 1 clearance requirements and I do not believe that at this stage the CRL should move away from these features existing on even basic level clearance requirements. Especially as Dr Martin are still selling boots that meet the requirement. That said I know the legion is all about costuming being open to everyone and thus level 1 should be relatively easy to achieve but this is a complex costume with many distinguishing features and dumbing it down to much would, in my opinion, detract from this. And I am not even going to comment on how far off base the spat ribbing is! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  8. This build is all about the small victories. Recently, I have been busy dealing with orders from others so have had little time for my own build but this morning I got five minutes to fit one of my belt boxes to my belt. The photo provides a comparison with those from SWCE. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  9. Have not managed to find anything that remotely matches the leather belt pouch. In fact, I any considering speaking to someone who makes custom leather items to see if they can help. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  10. Under the chest/back armour there is a layer of ribbed fabric that is worn like a poncho. It can be seen in the arm areas of the manaquin at SWCE but is not see around the neck area. It could be integrated with the neck seal and apron but effective it is a poncho. The red arrows indicate it: Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  11. Another small update. Added shoulder bell details Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  12. Ah, that'll explain it Thanks for clearing that up. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  13. Nice photos They add some confusion though as there a subtle differences between this costume and the SWCE or promo/screen ones. This looks very similar to the one's on display in Australia recently. The immediate differences that jump out at me are the type of gloves used and the chest rig. The gloves used here are black latex rather than fabric. This chest rig has eye holes above the ammo pouches whereas the screen used one (seen in promo shots) does not. 14. With regard to the chest rig strap if you take a look at the DT with chest rig but no pauldron that was photographed at the Australian comic con recently you can see the strap attaches to the d-ring on the shoulder strap. In the image that you posted you can see the d-ring sticking out from under the Pauldron. (Circled in Red) It does look to be too far off the shoulder but when you compare it's position on the chest plate to that seem at SWCE it is actually correct. The Green lines try to indicate how far down the plate it actually is! Good spot on the plastic wrap tie thingy Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  15. They were a little rough before. I have now tidied them up and primered them. I have also added the M4 bolts with which they will be secured. Belt boxes done! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  16. Have done a little bit of digging. According to scam adviser the website is owned by a company close to where I live who sell energy saving products NOT shoes. Furthermore, the company went into liquidation in 2015. PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I'm gonna steer well clear. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  17. I have had a mate working on the belt buckle for me. I got sight of the prototype today and I am really excited with how it has turned out. Just got to sort out the fixing details and then we're done Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  18. Well done Greg, awesome find Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  19. Awesome find with the buckle Greg! Great job. I had gone off down the wrong path when I couldn't find anything. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  20. You could well be right about it being a 4 bar. That would explain the size and the reason the webbing rises up from behind the lower bar and the flats off before passing back behind the upper bar. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  21. Here is a sketch of what I was getting at Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  22. I think the strapping that passes through the shoulder d-rings has a hook on the end which the attaches to the middle bar of the tri-glide buckle on the strap itself. If you zoom in on the buckle set up on the right side of the Trooper you can clearly see that the end of the strap has a loop which wraps around something. I suspect that the tri-glide buckle (rectangular buckle on strap) provides a means for adjusting the length of the strap with the hook providing the anchor point. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  23. Updated neckseal and Poncho details Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  24. Added neckseal and Poncho details to top of thread Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  25. I agree with you Greg and it looks to be too wide as well but it's difficult to tell! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
