  1. Link doesn't seem to work from my phone!? Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  2. Â With regard to the first picture I have not managed to find anything that matches the dimensions yet. It is in fact to parts: a ladder lock buckle and a hook. With regard to the d-ring the one that I am casting from is as far as I can tell the correct dimensions to that used on the costume and has a width of 60mm. Yes the real part is aluminium as are the real parts used to form the buckle and d-ring assembly on the shoulder. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  3. As a point of note I think we should respect the fact that Greg has now declared this as his build thread and move the discussion over to the thread dedicated to optional extras or armour ☺ Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

  5. Although there is no evidence of it on the SWCE costumes I suspect it is part of the strapping that secures the thigh armour in place. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  6. Greg. What is the dimensions of the mag? Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  7. Which is part of the reason they are required for level 2 clearance rather than basic. Dr Martin's are still producing boots with a similar flat sole though which will be all that is required for level 1 clearance. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah, the photos were taken straight after it came out of the mould and before I had cleaned up the overspill. I had already created the mould with the intention to cast these solid and as a result I have had to create a stepped lid which does not sit in the mould tightly hence the rough edges on the back. They have now been sanded off Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  9. After two failed attempts to slush cast the belt boxes I have produced a successful one. I didn't and any pigment which is why it is white. It is a 1/3rd of the weight of the solid one Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  10. I was going to but have managed to find some cheap alternatives in a local discount store that I believe I can modify so gonna give that a go first. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks Jim. Here's a side by side comparison: Thanks to David Rodriguez for putting that shot together for me ☺ Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  12. Handplate Update. Well look what popped out of my new mould tonight! Very pleased with how these turned out if I do say so myself! ☺ Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  13. That's a shame! If we had weight of numbers we may be able to convince them otherwise but I suspect that we are to few to have any impact >_> Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  14. It was on my list of things to do but not near the top so thanks for allowing me to cross it off Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  15. I suspect that height will not be a blocker to getting 501st clearance however it will be for official Disney cast events. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks for the suggestion Reese. Following on from my earlier post the handplates bucks had been glossed ready for creating a mould. Then it was pointed out to me that the handplates have a similar slot in them to that which is found in the TFA handplates. Thanks for the info Dave. So out came the dremel. I have also increased the width of them slightly as I realised that this area was not wide enough! Once I have completed sanding them back and re-glossing I have decided I am going to cast them in resin. Two reasons: 1) They will be extremely hard wearing and easily over paint able 2) silicone whilst flexible is not easy to paint onto so weathering would be a nightmare. More updates to come.
  17. DT HANDPLATES - what would you cast them in? Resin, silicone or something else? My bucks have had a gloss coat to seal them and make them as smooth as possible ready for making a mould, but the type of mould will depend on the material used for the cast!? Ideas please? 18. I am in love! This is a thing of beauty. Awesome job. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  19. This little beauty showed up today Time to start modifying it to match the DT sidearm. Also found some really cheap donor gloves that I'm going to modify using some of the suede leather I have left over from doing my Scout. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  20. Good catch Barry. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  21. Which size magazine did you go for? I couldn't decide whether to get the 15 or 20!?! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  22. A quick update. This build is progressing slowly as I am procrastinating over the details. Details, details, details!!!!! Anyway, here's how the handplate bucks are coming along: Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  23. And the research and building will become obsessional too! Lol. Sent from the comfort of my padded cell!!!!!
