Additional images of the 4th "Leatherman" style pouch. WE NEED MORE ESPECIALLY HIGH RESOLUTION ONES........ The last image comes with a health warning. What looks like a crease in the side of the pouch closest to you which suggests that the pouch body is a different material is the flap of the canvas pouch in front of it! It's not clear in this image but the original shows the velcro at the base of the flap which holds the hard plate in place when you zoom in. Here's a slightly clearer image:

Hi Greg I asked te same question in another thread on here! Sadly it seems not All the shots I have are pretty poor quality but I have worked out that it is made of a thick bridle or hide leather and has no visible stitching except maybe where the body of the pouch joins the back. The back and flap are one continuous piece which is wider than the body. All the images I have I will post in the belt thread. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

Death Trooper - Optional Extras/Variants

Actually I am going to withdraw part of my last statement. Having had a closer look, it's a Condor Chest Rig 1051 by the way, I think that it actually wouldn't take much to modify it and having done a closer comparison eith the DT image I suspect that it is the basis for the screen rig. Who is the supplier/manufacturer? It could be a good base but will need modifications to the straps etc which may mean it is easier to build from scratch! I'd be interested in seeing more images. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk -
I tend to agree with Dave. When looking at the reference photos trying to understand the various different ribbed material I became convinced that the outer strip was rubber and is the to provide a degree of flexibility. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

Hi and welcome. The DT belt buckle is approximately 6mm thick and is constructed in at least two layers. The top 2-3mm plate has the coin slots cut all the way through it is then bonded to the plate underneath. The evidence for this can be seen in the photo you have posted from celebration where you can see a seam running along the vertical edge of the buckle. Furthermore, hi res images of the buckle show no tooling marks on the base of the slots indicating that were not machined part way through the metal. The dimensions you have are very close to the ones I calculated and against which I am having a sample machined from aluminium. There have been a few small tweeks to ensure symmetry. Made a couple of updates to the belt and blaster details. Will look at adding in some of the details Reese has provided when I have a bit more time. Some of the info I will transfer to the armour thread where a more detailed description will be provided. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

Death Trooper - Optional Extras/Variants
marktoots replied to marktoots's topic in Imperial Death Trooper
As you said the grenades look to be retained by elastic straps that form a t-shape. A horizontal strap that passes around the middle of the grenade with a vertical strap sewn onto it centre front which then passes under the grenade. The webbing straps for the ammo belt wrap around the D-Rings and are then thread back through the sliding adjusters on the straps themselves. This will allow them to be securely held in place and provide a means for adjusting the height of the belt itself. In fact, looking at them again there is a locking mechanism on the back of those adjusters. You can see it on the left strap (the trooper's right) in the picture with the ST doll. Also in that picture you can make out the clipping mechanism for the strap that passes around his back (under his left arm). It reminds me of a clipping mechanism I have seen on scuba equipment to secure the air tank onto a bad or stab jacket. Something like this: Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk -

I remember reading on another post what the magazines were. I'll see if I can find it! It may have been the same HK weapon as the stock on the e-11 variant but I'll confirm. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk -
Lol. No point spraying the buck! The handplates will be black silicone once the bucks and mold are complete. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

Right after the disaster yesterday I have had another go! When you allow for the wrap around of the silicone does look about right? Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

Yeah, that's a fair assumption and will definitely work Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

Thanks mate. The matting discussion originally centred around the belt material which has been confirmed as being made from a fine fluted rubber mat with 3mm between the ribs and a triangular profile. It then spread to other parts of the soft armour .eg. The ribbed material that is around the abdomin and the shoulder straps. I am now less inclined to believe the shoulder straps are cut from a floor matting but rather some form of conveyor or timing belt. BTW I also think that the ribbed strip down the inside and outside of the thigh armour is also cut from some form of ribbed rubber matting but have not spent much time investigating that yet! As far as the CRL is concerned it is being written with basic clearance in mind and a level 2 Clearance is already being established, the boots are an example of that. However, as with any costume where detailed images are available, and we have plenty of those, members of the collective working on the armour will be continually looking for the original this or that Even after the CRL is agreed with the legion we will still be developing new versions of it as more info becomes available. For me, because I am a perfectionist (some say I'm anal), I am not racing to be the first DT but I want to try and be one of the most accurate so my build will be slow because I will be researching and hunting down the most accurate materials, etc. Before I get shot down for that statement I would like to point out that it I am not having a pop at anyone. You provided some great input in the CRL discussion about the armour and I will be incorporating it soon. I have not had a great deal of time since coming back from vacation

Jimmiroquai - Death Trooper Helmet and Armor WIP

Looking good ☺ The belt buckle coin slots - do they go all the way through? The belt buckle on the DT looks to be made up from layers with the slots cut through the first which is then adhered to the one underneath ☺ Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk -
The buckles on the costume are non - functioning and the D-Rings are just connection points. All adjustment for the ammo belt is on te belt itself. For info, when I get back from vacation I intend on posting an thread for ordering buckle/d-ring sets which will be cast to order ☺ Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

I'm going to go with the doopy's pipe blaster kit plus counter and power cells as the e-11 kit has cooling fins that would need removing so I have concluded that the pipe kit is easier ☺ Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

The buckles on the shoulder straps are Harley Roller buckles from a Martin Baker ejection seat harness. They can be found on ebay (occassionally) as part of the harness but are expensive. The d-ring is again part of an aircrew harness system. I have not found either part for sale as individual components. The d-ring at the bottom of the chest armour is again from a aircrew/military harnessing system and in it's true form is adjustable. The shoulder buckle/d-ring combination on the DT have been glued/welded together to form a single unit and I am am certain have then been cast as the finger plate on the buckle release mechanism has been thickened up on the DT armour to make the cast stronger. All d-rings on the armour have a purpose. They provide mounting points for the ammo belt that is carried by the DT with the Pauldron in some of the reference photos. Hope that helps ☺ Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

That looks to be a pretty good match once you remove the lower scope, barrel tip and change the upper scope mount ☺ The main blaster is an e-11 variant. I plan on using a doopys pipe kit and as the base 😉 Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
