  1. Proposed final text REVISIONS BELOW: Flightsuit One-piece flight suit is made out of canvas or similar heavy material. A canvas style fabric is most suitable, but other fabrics consistent with the visual references are entirely acceptable. The front zipper is covered by a 2" (50mm) wide piece of leather or leather-like material with vertical lines that attaches with Velcro over the zipper. Approximately 1.5" (38mm) tall mandarin collar with a chevron shaped, left-over-right Velcro closure. A 2.5" (63.5mm) red embroidered or PVC Inferno Squad emblem, on a black background, is present on both shoulders. The shoulders of the suit are slightly padded. A compad pocket that properly fits the compad is placed above the left glove so that the pocket is not hidden and faces outward on the arm. On the left bicep below the cog emblem, there is a code cylinder pocket with no flap, and vertical stitching dividing it into pen sleeves. No code cylinders are present. There is a piece of nylon strapping sewn below the pen sleeve openings and is the same length as the top of the pocket. The bottom front corner of the pocket is cut off at a bevel on the side pointing in view direction, with the broader upside forming the border of the pen sleeves. The right sleeve has a cargo pocket below the cog emblem. The right arm pocket has a chevron flap. Two large chest pockets and two large front pockets with no zippers or flaps are present below the belt There are no leg pockets below the knees. There are two red stripes that run up the right side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the right leg and continues up to the right armpit. The second begins at the right wrist and stops at the bottom of the arm pocket. The stripe then continues above the arm pocket, behind the patch emblem to the shoulder seam. The red arm stripe stops at the top of the shoulder seam, but continues up and over the shoulder as a black stripe. There are two black stripes that run up the left side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the left leg and continues up to the left armpit. The second begins at the left wrist and stops at the bottom of the arm pocket. The stripe then continues above the arm pocket, behind the patch emblem to the shoulder seam. The black arm stripe stops at the top of the shoulder seam, but continues up and over the shoulder to the collar. For basic approval this can be accomplished with topstitching. The black portion of this stripe stops at the collar. A piece of leather or leather-like material is sewn below the pen sleeve openings and is the same length as the top of the pocket. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Patches are vinyl on textile with no edge border. If twill is used for the patch material the fabric texture will be vertically oriented. The black stripes on top of the shoulders shall be a material matching texture and weave of the red stripe. Textured canvas is most accurate for the flightsuits construction as it is a thick materials with a "solid" structure. A "loose", soft or lightweight material is not accurate. Armor Armor consists of front and back pieces connected by shoulder bridges anchored by wedge connectors. Armor is glossy black. Chest and back plate meet flush at the sides under the arms. This is done with a third plate that bridges the gap between the front and back armor parts. This is best achieved with material matching the rest of the hard armor parts, but more flexible options are also accepted so long as the visual appearance matches the rest of the Armor (eg. non-textured black leather. Molded black, ribbed, rubber shoulder bridges are acceptable. Back plate contains detailed "O II" design. The top of the back plate box may feature a trapezoid shaped depression 4" x 5" (101mm x 127mm) at the top of the box. There is a 5/16" (8mm) circular depression below the right shoulder strap connector on the back plate. Armor may be lightly stained or weathered. Silver is not permitted. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Made with reference to the game's 3D model and scaled to the wearer. Armor scaling and strapping must fit the wearer accurately. "O II" design shall have 16 points on the "O" design and "II" bars shall have 5 indented slot depressions at the bottom of each bar matching references. Trapezoid shaped depression at the top of the box shall match game refences for size, shape and location. Any visible staining or weathering must be light. Silver is not permitted. Shoulder Ammo Pouch There is an MP-40 style ammo pouch attached to the left shoulder and it must be filled. The pouch is made of black canvas, or canvas-like material with black stitching. Closure straps are made of black leather or leather-like material. There is a small oiler-style pouch on the bottom of the pouch at the right side. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Attachment is not seen. No straps are visible. Magnets or another source of firm mounting are advised. Oiler pouch is attached to the bottom right side of the right pouch.
  2. I have to agree. I wrote the CRL for Del, and we received no input from the JRS from their development. i don't know what the backstory there was, and im quite sure there was one, but they were not receptive to collaboration. If the JRS staff wishes to collaborate, IF they intend to update Hask/ Iden, they may choose to do so.
  3. now thats interesting,i have to wonder if that will work for jawas! i got some auto window screen mesh on the way and ill chck it when it gets here.
  4. plase check CRLs closely. There ARE differences in the back armor, in the box insets and hose connectors. Make sure youre getting the box insets you need. Also, we have not developed anything from Season2. the LMO has not given us the Greenlight to do so yet.
  5. Ok-its been four days since the last post, so lets move on. here is where we are, and please let me know if I missed something here. Shoulder Ammo Pouch There is an MP-40 style ammo pouch attached to the left shoulder and it must be filled. The pouch is black in color and made of canvas, or canvas-like material. Closure straps are made of black leather or leather-like material. There is a small oiler-style pouch on the bottom of the pouch at the right side. All pouch stitching is black. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Attachment is not seen. No straps are visible. Magnets or another source of firm mounting are advised. Oiler pouch is attached to the bottom right side of the right pouch. (Is this adding anything to what is written above?) I want to include the verbiage proposals from above so we dont lose sight of them. This would be added to the respective sections: Flightsuit section proposal: One-piece flight suit is made out of a canvas or similar suitably heavy material fabric. A canvas style fabric is most suitable, but other fabrics consistent with the visual references are entirely acceptable." Armor section proposal: "Chest and back plate meet flush at the sides under the arms. This is done with a third plate that bridges the gap between the front and back armor parts. This is best achieved with material matching the rest of the hard armor parts, but more flexible options are also accepted so long as the visual appearance matches the rest of the armor (eg. non-textured black leather)." I'd like to propose this minor change, to get rid of text where we can. Shoulder Ammo Pouch There is an MP-40 style ammo pouch attached to the left shoulder and it must be filled. The pouch is black in color and made of black canvas, or canvas-like material with black stitching. (Is this adding anything to what is written above?)
  6. ive orderd my vest from Jim Tripon as well and Ive asked for specific upgrades from his current offering which is just a copy of the Flyye rig. The L2 requirement is quite specific ( I wrote it and we are rewriting the text at this time- see that topic). The puoches clearly drop below the bottom fo the vest base and the top of the pouch is in line wiht the bottom of the top web strip. I aslo asked him to make the leather straps to the measurements Maxime pulled from the game when we wrote the CRL. They are game magic measuremnts not standard US sizes.
  7. i got a set of bubbles from MonCal, and ive messaged Ople but there is no reply from them. Ive tried to order online, but the online order is not taking orders. Im kinda stuck because while I HAVE bubble lenses from MonCal, I cannot find the correct vinyl mesh with round holes.
  8. after ten days and an insane life experience I am back to the forums Ive read through everything and here's where I am- 1 I was the CRL writer with Anton and Maxime, with a lot of input from Daniel as we created the intiial 2020 rewrite. Anton and Maxime wanted the CRL to be even more restrictive. It was to be almost-unatainable, but I was able to walk them back to agree to what we have now. Had they their way all helmets would be 3d printed and almost unwearable. 2 I'm a GML and former Rebel Legion costume judge. 3 I'm in progress with my own L2 Del build using armor and helmet from PilotBay (Gary) and flightsuit and vest/ thermal from Jimmi Iroqui. That canvas suit is made from the same canvas that Rothco heavy parachute bags are made of. Its very heavy and somewhat stiff, and matches the 'nubbly' and woven apperance of the game capture images. The appearance of the game images is almost like that outdoor canvas with is plastic coated with a visible "weave". The helmet is well covered that it meets game images and there are no screws. I'm personally less interested in comfort for myself since Im going for L2, but I understand others are. In my point of view-as along as a fabric is not "light" and "loose", has a structure, has a prominent weave like we see in the images it will work. Years ago i used bull drill to make a kama for my ATAT door gunner. It was heavy and fairly stiff, but the weave is different. I realize this is the 501st and not the Rebel Legion, but in the RL we get pretty deep in the weeds on weave, drape and hand of a fabric, which tells you how it looks when it is worn. This brings me to my point. I own a bunch of flightsuits from a bunch of makers, including the dozen-odd suits I have converted from commercial coveralls. All of those are twill, with the exception of the canvas Jimmi suit. They all look, feel and wear differently. Wampawear's Inferno oxford canvas suit is just that, oxford canvas. It has a waistband and has very obvious scrunching. I would consider this a light fabric, no heavier than framed painting cavas prior to the paint primer being applied. We have this suit in my Garrison and ive worn it so Im familiar with it. If the waistband was taken out, I feel it should meet L1, but does not really have a visibile weave any more than the regular WW twill mateirai. I have Moncal suits as well and that is a stiffer twill material. If this had a visible weave like seen in game images I feel whatever weight this is would match L2. All of my commercial suits are variou weights and texture, although they are all "twill". Fabrics all wear differently especially after washing. The Inferno suits hold their structure in-game, and they are fairly well-fitted, not the typical slop we see in regular flightsuits. Ive owned and worn all the makers suits from 5XL to my current medium, so Im well versed in how the makers suits look when worn. I just really do not want to add a line of text that the suit should be fitted and not look sloppy since thats in our CRL model photos. The Flyye vest came into discussion because it was used on the Star Wars Show when Radu built the suits for the show. He had 2 weeks to get the suits done and used what he could get. That discussion is well versed in the original CRL rewrite. Its a long but interesting read.
  9. Luke I just pulled everthing into the slicer and it looks great. THANK YOU so much for giving our next generation of Sunbers the ability to get the parts they need to get approved. Here's what I come up with, scaling is great and the pin on the comm/ holder will keep it in place.
  10. Going back to the vest, I believe we can finalize it at this point. Change Log Final ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tactical Vest The tactical vest and its pouches are made of black fabric similar to the flight suit material. Heavy black canvas is recommended. There are three M4 / M16 style magazine pouches fitted to the front of the vest, each filled by a rectangular package covered in the same fabric as the tactical vest. The packages fill the pouches completely, and extend above the pouch. Each package has a black gloss strip mounted to the front at the top, which should appear to be constructed from a similar material to the costume's hard armour parts. There is a block on the right side of the vest matching references, covered by the same black fabric as the tactical vest, held in place by one of the webbing straps described below There are a total of fourteen wide horizontal black webbing straps sewn onto the front of the tactical vest, with four stacked horizontally on either side of the pouches, and two at the front of each pouch. Straps are approximately 1" (25mm) wide and sewn to match reference images. The main shoulder straps are made from leather or leather-like material, which cross at the back and attach to the top edge of the vest on both sides. The front shoulder straps are attached to triglide buckles, which in turn attach to the top front edge of the vest with a shorter strap. The shoulder straps cross near the top of the back armor box. Each shoulder strap runs through a tri-glide at the rear before feeding into approximately 1" (25mm) wide side release buckles which attach to the top edge of the vest. There is a leather or leather-like waist strap (approximately 1" or 25mm wide) present at the back of the tactical vest, and it is attached to the vest with one quick release buckle on the right or left side of the vest at the wearer's option. This quick release buckle is hidden under the scout pouch, and is not seen when worn. A single adjusting tri-glide is centered on the back waist strap. There is a specific buckle greeblie mounted above the front tri-glide buckles on each side, matching reference images. There is a horizontal strip mounted to each front shoulder strap, several inches above the buckle greeblie. The strips should be made from the same material as the shoulder straps. The Flyye tactical vest is not accurate and will not be approved for use. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The vest is proportional to the wearer. See reference images and the Costume Gallery for placement of specific components. All shoulder and waist straps are made of black leather or leather-like material. Vest front tri-glides are made with reference to the games 3D model, and are attached to the vest with straps that are approximately 1.37" x 1.37" (35mm x 35mm) wide. Buckle style greeblies made with reference to the 3D models are attached to the shoulder straps above the tri-glides. The front shoulder straps which go over the shoulder and continue to the back are made of 3 layers which are glued, sewed or bonded together. Stitching is permitted as long as the stitches are small and do not detract from the overall appearance. The first (bottom) layer is approximately 1.37" (35mm) The middle layer shall be approximately 1" (25mm) wide. The final layer is approximately 9/16" (15mm) wide. The layered part of the leather shoulder straps runs up over the shoulders and stops below the rear of the collar. It then continues on as an approximately 1" (25mm) wide black strap, passing through tri-glides and into side release buckles, which are held to the vest with straps that are approximately 1" (25mm) wide. The three magazine pouches fall below the bottom edge of the vest. The top of the pouch is in line with the bottom edge of the upper webbing strap. The bottom edge of the pouch may come close to but not touch the top edge of the overbelt.
  11. easiest way to state that is "may be holstered"
  12. morning everyone Luke I didnt realize these were your files, and we as a community thank you for rendering this. I can print all day long but I have not the first clue how to make a file like this. I opened up he files in the Bambu Slic3r and if you dial in on the file you'll note that they are pretty big overall and need to be scaled down. The Macrobinocular needs to be scaled to fit inside the big pouch and the comm device sits entirely on top of the shoulderstrap. Per Legion policy all 3d prints must be smoothed to eliminate layer lines. In this case what Im referring to is the faceting, not the layer lines Taking a look at the comm the round surface is created by billions of triangles forming a facet, joined at the edge forming an arc, which forms a curve forming a shape. All 3d files work this way. For those who may not be familiar with printing and what the real outcome of printing is, its not perfect off the printer plate. My DLT19X scope took significant work to knock down the HUGE facets the scope printed with. These facets on the comm and Macro look pretty small and should be smoothed down with files and sanding boards pretty easily. For Level 2 we are definitely looking for all printing artifacts to be removed. This is the kind of faceting im describing, on m DLT19x scope. It had to be rounded down to smooth.
  13. as a general reminder there is a Legion moritorium on both new costumes as well as CRL amendments following a new show. This is currently in effect and we will not start development of S2 ofAndor troopers until after the moritorium period is lifted. The CRLs are being transitioned to a new format. we also need to wait for this ot happen and wait our turn.
  14. upon review of the file linked above it certianly looks like the Sunber parts file we ahve used int eh past. The Macro is a hollow oval, no front or back. The comm is a bit large. The macro is flat huge. Scaling will fix that. These should print in a few hours, and will require sanding/ smoothing becaues of the faceting seen on the model, but otherwise this file should be able to be used.
  15. hmm! maybe this is the set of files we ahve been looking for. Not familiar with this maker. Let me downlaod and get some images of it opened in the slicer.
  16. i wear a very similar boot with a simple black sole. Its also a brahma work boot.
  17. agreed, i had proposed leaving L2 off further up. Let is stand alone at L1. There are other costumes that are easy enough to set up at L2 to begin with such at IAT and IAE. L1 at this wold be the stepstone to upgrade to Del and potentially L2 for Del.
  18. welcome Dylan! im at 87.683% done on my del I have made two vests. the first was perfect. I ruined it by dumping a can of contact glue on it. There was no salvaging that. My second, made it total disgust, was not up to par. Ive been talking to Jim this week and sent him a list of changes I want made when he makes my vest this week. Ill be paying for it tonight. He is not quick to respond, just so you know. I bought my flightsuit from him, its made from the correct very heavy canvas and there is no scrunching/ bunching i had him delete the waistband elastic, which gives an incorrect appearance not seen in the games. TBH thevest was not hard to make, just an nylon rectangle with 14 webbing strips and thepouches. The pouches were he hard part and I never really nailed the shape. Even doing the leather strips and printing my own greeblie and the special size triglide at the front of the straps was just tedious, not hard. Good luck with your build. We will be watching and helping along the way . If you could, drop a post in the new recruits section, this will help us make sure ou are getting the levels of access you need.
  19. im printing guards for me and my CO. despite my bes attemtps at Armorsmith the scaling just does not owrk and ive wasted so many hours printing stuff thats wayyyy to small. trust me I ge it.
  20. I do see a single ref pic of del holding a E-11 .this looks like a ROTJ style E-11 with the wierd cam greeblies on the left side of the buffer tube. Nicholes point is very well taken and that is exactly the point I have. I have a new Pilot on the Lousiana Western border with Texas and he wants to go eithe Del or Hask or both. The possibility that the and Nichole (Star-Texas) troop togeher is more likely than not. We see biker scouts Nichole size often because the armor is so adaptable, and ive seen six foot plus Scouts. If we use the term "approximately" it allows us to have that literal wiggle room while mainting standards. Since the vest is the single most identifying feature for Del minus his biga$$ gun, it dominates the rewrite. I propose this change- this is heavy rewrite with all changes suggested above corporated. additions in green. Ill call this Change Log 2.0 Tactical Vest The tactical vest and its pouches are made of black fabric similar to the flight suit material. Heavy black canvas is recommended. There are three M4 / M16 style magazine pouches fitted to the front of the vest, each filled by a rectangular package covered in the same fabric as the tactical vest. 21. im in agreement since we see the sllver boot buckle whilch all of the boots come with, and we have been painting them grey/ dingy/ gunmetal for the CRL purpose on regular TIE pilots etc. If this is to be a gateway , all Del parts would qualify, and reciprocate to go to Inferno from Del. Backwards yeah, but thats a toofer.
  22. for edification this the link to the image library Suit- upon review of the physical game piece scrunching in the back of he suit is evident. I think we should allow the WampaWear suit as we know this has a waistband elastic and it does scrunch up like this. This is the only L2 item I see, and I feel we can pretty much omit all L2 references since we are looking at very limited game card art, or physical game figures. Ammo belt-the ammo belt is different as discussed above. I agree with the rationale to allow for a standard TX or Iden/ belt based on vendor accessibility. If an Iden unit is used the drop boxes have to come off, or just get a basic TX black ammo belt, ensuring the three square mount covers are present. The holster IS strange, and it does in fact have longer straps. I think these straps can be black and if you have the long loop style like I got for my Del build. You can just undo one side of it from the Chicago screw and let it hang from the top of the belt. The Iden Versio thermal should work, as should a black TX thermal, as long as it i not oversized as many are. I have a nice collectionof them and the are all different sizes. Anyone printing their own will need to constrain its size to match the rear reference images.
  23. I got to test drive/ sweat in my new Del gloves from Wampa. I cant tell any different from the other four sets of gloves I have. They feel fine and look the part.
  24. i cant really comment on either the philo or the herotec, ive never seen either. It looks like it, so its goign to be up to your GML to approve. we can only approve L2 after your GML approves Basic level. I printed my own commpad using the STL i found. its not perfect, I dont like the way the file is split for ultra small bed (like resin) printers, but it is what it is. I had te pouch discussion today. Whatevers going on with the black pouch for a while the did not seem to be out there anymore and were either giving up a pouch from our other costumes, or dye one of the dark grey or khaki pouches on varioius sites. If they are available now, and there is a need for sure with all the Sandies being built as well as Del and Sappers, someone will make them.
  25. ive got jim tripons flex stuff, it breaks....so be forewarned. Theres got to be a better way to make this collar.
