  1. Thanks for the update Nathan. I have to get all my parts too for the ISB tactical agent, so Im right there with you. Im glad I did not order the black undersuit, ive lost so much weight nothing really fits me anymore, a good problem to have but its getting expensive to replace stuff. I have Seans files from the mudtrooper site and I know Jason had remixed some especially the buckles. For your belt, I have both. Wampas buckle is pretty basic, I know- I helped him out with a ton of his line. The Dharmans buckle is a metal plate, while Wampas buckle is a cast (I believe, ihave two of his) metal buckle. I would say the leather is a wash, its just leather. Its up to you which to go with, and there is a small price difference. Baily left the US in November but Kilani over the IOC took over the production line. I spoke with him and he intends to keep the same quiality, but since its not his full time job the production rate will not be the same. I have those belt boxes (And officer belt with metal plate and raw edges) and they are great. Philo is based in Italy and you will be dealing with internatinoal shipping.
  2. thats a great find! Ill be adding that to the vendor list. Make sure to use a dark green lens, per the CRL, I use green welding sheild and cut my own.
  3. Ok, so its been a couple of days since the last post, with no further discussion. I will presume to clear and lock these sections. I have moved the final proposals to the CRL final text topic.
  4. I ordered my L2 compliant helmet from Pilotbay from his new molds. It's very small, my eyelashes actually touch the lens materal, it rips my ears off taking the helmet off and coming from well over a hundred troops in Dan Laws TIE and ATAT helmets this is a big change for me. Laying my helmets side by side not only is the size different but the shape as well. The game-design inspired helmets are different, skinnier, smaller, tighter and the vocoder is clearly different. We had even discussed breifly making the requirement to have the vocoder made of seperate tubes, like using RC fuel tubing with wire inside, vs. using a seperate molded piece. That did not pan out, but in the end the vocoder is seprate from the faceplate.
  5. ive done a lot of plastic model sanding wth Micromesh polish abrasives up to 12000 grit, starting around 6000. I used to polish plastic model airplane canopies to clear from whatever waviness the factory molded the plastic in. Followed with a proper plastic polish after the sanding the results are amazing. it does take work, you wwork it wet (to keep it cool and remove the slurry) and it takes time but its amazing when done.
  6. may be able to stretch the file a little on the XY size and keep the Z lenght. Might make any buttons/ holes come out wonky.
  7. I havent had a chance to get to the rubber store in baton rouge they have all sorts of heavy industrial rubber and silicon products, they may have this. Did you get your rubber belt local purchase or online? ive lost so much weight nothing much will fit me anymore so I may as well get the new files from GA. I was just about to comment on the grooves but went back to the top and reread Deamos' post, definitely grooved leather. I bougth a grooving tool at Tandy and now im kicking myself for paying makers an extra 15 bux to groove the thing for me. 🫤All I need now is a big slab and I can make my own belts. On Sgt Gharials' belt you can see the top of the leather where it gets fuzzy from rubbing against fabric. My belt from Baily Builds does that. v
  8. thanks Sebastion and that proves a point I was going to make. Ive given model kit demonstrations on weatheirng to appear under studio lights. Models for movies like Star WArs and Battlestar Galactica was SUPER weathered just to show up on filmstock. Tarrif's white armor proves this. I feel that "Light to moderate weathering consistant with reference images is permitted" would be appropriate for L1 while "Moderate weathering consistant with reference images is required" Ive seen guys use those brownish paint marker sponge things and just dab it all over and the armor looks like a cheetah.
  9. Ok lets try THIS - Flightsuit FINAL FINAL text. (This time we REALLY mean it!) One-piece flight suit is made out of a suitably heavy fabric. A canvas style fabric is most suitable, but other fabrics consistent with the visual references are entirely acceptable. The front zipper is covered by a 2" (50mm) wide piece of leather or leather-like material with vertical lines that attaches with Velcro over the zipper. Approximately 1.5" (38mm) tall mandarin collar with a chevron shaped, left-over-right Velcro closure. A 2.5" (63.5mm) red embroidered or PVC Inferno Squad emblem, on a black background, is present on both shoulders. The shoulders of the suit are slightly padded. A compad pocket that properly fits the compad is placed above the left glove so that the pocket is not hidden and faces outward on the arm. On the left bicep below the cog emblem, there is a code cylinder pocket with no flap, and vertical stitching dividing it into pen sleeves. No code cylinders are present. The bottom front corner is cut off at an angle. A piece of leather or leather-like material is sewn below the pen sleeve openings and is the same length as the top of the pocket. The right sleeve has a cargo pocket with a chevron flap below the cog emblem. Two large chest pockets and two large front pockets with no zippers or flaps are present below the belt. There are no leg pockets below the knees. There are two red stripes that run up the right side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the right leg and continues up to the right armpit. The second begins at the right wrist and stops at the bottom of the arm pocket. The stripe then continues above the arm pocket, behind the patch emblem to the shoulder seam. The red arm stripe stops at the top of the shoulder seam, but continues up and over the shoulder as a black stripe. There are two black stripes that run up the left side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the left leg and continues up to the left armpit. The second begins at the left wrist and stops at the bottom of the arm pocket. The stripe then continues above the arm pocket, behind the patch emblem to the shoulder seam. The black arm stripe stops at the top of the shoulder seam, but continues up and over the shoulder to the collar. For basic approval this can be accomplished with topstitching. The black portion of this stripe stops at the collar. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Patches are vinyl on textile with no edge border. If twill is used for the patch material the fabric texture will be vertically oriented. The black stripes on top of the shoulders shall be a material matching texture and weave of the red stripe. Textured canvas is most accurate for the flightsuit's construction as it is a thick materials with a "solid" structure. A "loose", soft or lightweight material is not accurate.
  10. agreed. I believe we can rapidly move through those sections. Boots appear to be the same as well. The next piece in CRL order is the chest armor. We know the origin, there are minor differences to be discussed. We need to verify that the back box insets are the same as the security trooper when we get to the back armor, but this is only for the chest. Proposal colors Modified text New text Removed text Chest Armor Change log 1.0 Original text. We know the color is whilte so Im just going to go ahead and make that change now. Reference photo from our Security Trooper CRL gallery for reference against our white troopers. Chest Armor Chest armor matches visual references being accurate in shape and design. The join between the chest and back armor are created by an angled sweep starting at the bottom of the chest armor and finishing at the bottom of the back armor. This may be held closed with magnets, Velcro, or another hidden fastener. There is an indented area around the outer edge of the center flat section. Buckles attach to upper chest plate and match the armor color. and are painted gunmetal or dark silver. Shoulder straps are affixed to the chest plate at the buckle. The shoulder strap is black white. It is permitted to be made of cast flexible urethane or other flexible material. To the lower left side of the center flat panel is a recessed area angled inward from bottom to top with a raised rectangle greeblie and a recessed horizontal elongated oval. Left of the recessed area is a raised square that extends from the center to the curved side of the armor. On the top left side of the raised area is a raised oblong detail that protrudes outwards. Chest shall be painted to match helmet and back armor. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Buckles have black recess on upper narrow section and the lower recess shall expose the chest armor. Buckles may have silver paint chipping showing gunmetal underneath the silver. Discussion: over on Kevin Wiers's Imperial Surplus IG account he commented that this seaon he noted that new fittings were being used on the buckles, thes are Martin Baker ejection seat buckles and a different part number was used for some of the buckle components. Those with sharper eyes than mine can dive into the particulars on these fittings, but for my money, if you have the rigth configuration thats great for L1. I know @BigJasoni had remixed some buckles at one point for the MudtrooperUK files and I had printed those back then.
  11. agreed. We shall proceed with the belief that these were reused from Season 1 without mofification. Change log 1.0 (Final text proposal) Tunic A long-sleeved, black jacket that falls just to mid-thigh, with no visible zippers or buttons. Fabric is a plain weave cotton similar to duck canvas. Has a high mandarin style collar with a left-over-right closure that rises from the front of the tunic. The front closure overlaps left over right and rises from the hem at the bottom of the tunic to the top of the collar. Four rectangular pockets are present on the jacket front, covered by large flapped closures. Lower pockets are larger than the ones on the upper chest. Lower pocket seams rest on the same seam as the end of the tunic The rear of the jacket has a horizontal seam present near the upper back. Two vertical seams start below the horizontal upper back seam moving down the bottom of the jacket. Two black tunic hooks to hold the belt in place are permitted. If used, the hooks will pass from the inside of the tunic to the outside through holes on either side of the tunic at the hip. The belt covers the holes. One pocket is present on each arm of the jacket, each covered by large flapped closures. The top of the arm pocket flaps are in line with the top edge of the chest pockets. Cuffs on the sleeves are about mid-distance to the elbow. The material folds back on itself to form the cuff. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The front jacket flap will have rectangular stitch marks with a stitched X inside where Velcro is attached to keep the flap closed. Fabric has the appearance of waxed canvas or oilskin fabric. If left arm rank bars are present, the black fabric should be similar to duvetyn type of fabric and will have 3 equidistant horizontal stitch lines through each rank bar.
  12. Any discussion about the tunic and the points I brought up ?
  13. Good question, and it will either become a new tabbed variant, or recieve a new CRL. Ill review with Staff. Im inclined to add verbiage to cover the "green" newbie Ghorman troopers who had brand new armor, but also riot helmets and sheilds.
  14. i bought a very heavy aluminum construction yardstick that is 2" wide for that very reason. Great for cutting leather belts once I clamp it down.
  15. Thanks Tony I printed up the buckles that Luke (?) modeled up for us or was it you that modeled the Del buckles, they came out great.
  16. oh, thats true!! i never thought about that. I know I can get a roll of it. Ill check with my local rubber house, they have a ton of stuff.
  17. yep, you are right! i wont be wearing one. and if I did, it would be backwards with my goggles on it. Which I may do for giggles since thats how I wear my engineer half the time. We knocked it out first because its on top but in the end different tabs with differnet configurations may be better off rather than so much mix and match. Thats interesting about the prop auction, I dont follow those so I never know whats going on with them. The photo clearly shows the greeblie, which looks like crap compared to the ones we get machined for us.
  18. very good and im glad its all minor fixes. Im still waiting for Jim Tripon to get my det and my vest to me. Then I can suit up for pics.
  19. Joe if you got a roll of that would you be willing to sell slabs of it to help a brother out (and recoup some of your cost) TBH it looks just like what I used on my BSG knuckledragger costume for the vest.
  20. my icat had a "hinged" flexible box and i put a common hinge back there. Youre printing in PETG? How many walls are you printing with? I printed a set of ICAT armor and it weighed a ton with 4 walls and 9% gyroid.
  21. it occurs to me now that the top of the "cone" top remains the same, but head size changes the lower base. That gives the different impression of "conicalness". I made that up.

  23. the IST text works for us, and Heidi's right, they look differnt on differnt people. Hoda's looks conical in his CRL photos. I think we can move on down the line at this point. Hat text has been posted to the finalized text topic. Next is the Tunic. Text from our Security Trooper CRL: Change log 1.0 Tunic A long-sleeved, black jacket that falls just to mid-thigh, with no visible zippers or buttons. Discussion points that occur to me: People will use their existing Security Troopers for this costume. Will the fabric appear to be waxed? I need to rewath the episode but I have not had any free time. Do we need to include the verbiage regarding the tunic hooks? Are they visible at any point holding the lower belt?
