  1. Good job Jesse. There's not too much more you can do with the AM cannister beyond what you have completed. I recently ditched my FX/AM cannister and upgraded to a more screen accurate version. It has a solid PVC pipe center (from England) with just the end caps and control panel glued on. It's much more durable and also has the aluminum belt clips instead of Velcro. That was the main reason for my upgrade...the Velcro TD bugged the crap outta me.
  2. Great progress Nick! You will be complete and trooping before you know it!
  3. Good luck Chef! I like your idea and it should be interesting!
  4. I'm a silver frown guy. It matches my eyes.
  5. Yep, and things are getting more strict in this area. Your GML may have overlooked it or was not as picky. The FISD are really cranking down on this too since there were no silver strips on the on-screen TD-s in the movies (ANH, ESB, ROTJ). I had to remove them for my approval last year.
  6. Time to troop!

  7. It's funny. He did this costume up for Dragon-Con 2011 last year (sort of as a joke) and his pics turn up everywhere.
  8. Box party! Looks like you are off and running. One comment - for the thermal detonator, you'll need to remove the silver tape or paint it black. The cannister should be totally black.
  9. Stinky roto-casted vinyl. Bleh...
  10. Here's a pic of my boots showing what Iz and DE have mentioned. This method really works well.
  11. Helmet, chest, handguards, shins...give it away too. He's actually got an approved BH-4095 and TD-4095 in the Legion. Here's his profile: http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=13557
  12. That's actually a friend of mine named "Dick Stryder"...true story. He goes by the hip-hop Stormtrooper.
  13. Just take your time. You can use painter's tape to mark what you want to trim. Maybe post a pic before you actually cut and we'll all try to guide you.
  14. Box party! Typically you would trim the shins from the bottom up, depending on your size/build. It may help to look at another members WIP to get some ideas. Take a peek over at Trooper's build and see if this helps. http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/1481-shadow-stormtrooper-build/page__p__22141&do=findComment&comment=22141
  15. Yep...agree with all the above. Have you figured out how to hang your thigh parts? Some folks use the "attach to the ab" method while others use the garter belt method. I prefer the latter.
  16. I'd love to see you do the Aquatic Trooper too. Rob - you would do that one justice!
  17. Ah, very cool! I really like what you did with the costume.
  18. Nice job on the blaster. I have made a few of them now and each time I pick up new tricks to make them better. Good work.
  19. I actually saw a pic of this costume idea on Starwarshelmets.com last night. This is a great idea and should be a fun project.
