  1. Ty, I interchange for my Nova and Nova Elite as well, but I wanted to build a whole new suit for this one. DE, thanks. I always wanted to be an action figure.
  2. I really wanted Ty do have the honor of ushering in this costume to the Legion. Now that he has, it's go time. Pew! Pew! The game references look more matte to me for the black, so I chose to keep my armor understated. I also added the ROTJ-style trim and kept the detonator off. Like Ty, I chose to keep the orange pauldron off as that looks lame IMHO.
  3. Oooh shiny. Who is the maker of the helmet?
  4. This is good Dizz. Thanks for helping folks out adjusting their AM purchases.
  5. Impressive. Please keep working and updating.
  6. I use an old electric shaver coiled wire. It's thin and a perfect match.
  7. I'd go for a pair of Scootch lenses, maybe even two pairs.
  8. The trap decals aren't required. The tube stripes should be nearly invisible. Looking good.
  9. Nice grocery list. You are going to have a great time. This should be much easier than modding that Rubies, so you've given yourself some valuable experience heading into this. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this armor.
  10. Listen to Chef. He'll get you tip-top for certain.
  11. this is fun to watch. Thanks for sharing your construction step-by-step.
  12. DE is correct. There have been troopers with blue stripes and some even with silver, but for 501st acceptance flat black or bust.
  13. nice job so far. I love how shiny and smooth you were able to achieve with the paint job.
  14. welcome to Special Ops! I'm going to be eagerly watching your progress as it looks promising so far. Please feel free to ask us for help should you need it. Chef is right about the treads. It's not bad.
  15. you got it Al. My chest used to pop up without my knowing it at troops, especially with my TD pack on. The elastic has eliminated that from happening. I build that into all of my suits now. I think you'll like it, you'll look great, and your GML should be happy.
  16. The elastic is not required in and of itself; however, it can help with the fitting. Looking at all of your submission pics, I think you would benefit from having the chest attached to the abdomen with elastic. I recommend doing so in three points. I have TK-based suits with elastic and without, and the ones where I employ the elastic between the chest and ab definitely fit better and troop easier. In other words, I think it looks like you need it in all of your poses.
  17. Awesome. I can't wait to see your three-headed scout Jim.
  18. Congratulations Jim. Make us proud.
  19. Hmm. I haven't seen your submission pop-up on the GML forums yet. You might nudge your GML Ty.
