I have added the finalized neck seal text into my post where the finalized text is going:

Onto the Under Suit! Here is the standard text:

Under Suit

  • Black non-textured material, either one-piece or two-piece construction with no visible zippers or logos.

Are we good with this?

Sounds good to me. It's not really anything different than that. The game model is just solid black. Heh.

@IcyTrooper Im backtracking i know...but i noticed it on the BF fan skin.  The vocoder on Phase 0 is different than a standard TK correct?  Does the text address that?

Our current text says this:

  • Vocoder (vertically ribbed chin detail) must be black and is correct in size and shape in relation to the faceplate.

Should just be larger from what I can tell and more elongated.

Felt like there was some angling in it as well. Not just vertical.  Maybe @Blue Hatter has a closeup up of it to show

@Raider I'm seeing what you're saying as well:

6-A4084-CD-DF15-4088-A4-E9-7-D37-E571473

This may be the new verbiage for the Helmet:

Vocoder (vertically ribbed chin detail) must be black and is correct in size and shape in relation to the faceplate. Details contained are different from that of a regular stormtrooper:

  • Two vertical details in the middle.
  • One v-shaped detail which goes around the bottom of the the two vertical details and comes up to the midpoint of those vertical details.
  • Below the v-shaped detail is a wedge shaped detail rounds out towards the bottom.

Ryans text will work fine for the description.

Thanks!

I have updated the helmet text to have this and finalized it again. I have also added the following for Under Suit:

  • Black non-textured material, either one-piece or two-piece construction with no visible zippers or logos.

We can move onto the shoulder straps now.

Proposed text for the shoulder straps:

Shoulder Straps

  • These shall be securely mounted in front and may free float in the back. They can be affixed with rivets, Velcro or adhesive.
  • Unlike a regular stormtrooper, there is no front or rear tab on the strap and they must not be present.

OPTIONAL Level Two certification (if applicable):

  • No visible rivets are allowed to secure the straps in the front.
  • These shall be glued in front.

I was on the fence about allowing the tabs on the front and rear and making it an L2 detail to not have them but based on the rest of the armor being somewhat custom I think the straps should be as well.

agree, and concur. I like it.   Not all straps have those end squares, so its certainly within the realm.

Looks like if we follow the oriignal layout from Page 1 Shoulder Armor, then upper arm armor will be next in line.

I'm just sitting here, lol. I'm not sure what I can contribute.

Continue to give us input.  were working from a 3d model but you have the 3d parts in hand.   Theres a lot you can answer as we go along.

I agree about leaving the mention of the tabs for the shoulder straps off. The model doesn't have them and it could be confusing if one place says they're allowed and another place says they shouldn't be on the armor. I'm always for the ways that are the easiest to understand.

If it matters any, to keep the shoulder straps pulled down on the back, I did sort of like the OT stormtroopers with a piece of elastic around them, but I used clear elastic. I wanted to do something more tactile than just using magnets, and I liked how the elastic loops on the OT stormtroopers kind of seemed more "realistic" to me, in a sense... And the clear elastic actually works pretty well.

That is a good perspective on that. I'd say we would probably have to either use clear elastic or black velcro to keep the back down. I'm thinking that we can make that a L2 detail.

With some input from above, here is the new text possible for shoulder straps:

Shoulder Straps

  • These shall be securely mounted in front and may free float in the back. They can be affixed with rivets, Velcro or adhesive.
  • Unlike a regular stormtrooper, there is no front or rear tab on the strap and they must not be present.

OPTIONAL Level Two certification (if applicable):

  • No visible rivets are allowed to secure the straps in the front.
  • These shall be glued in front.
  • These shall be held down in the back by either clear elastic or Velcro.

I underlined the text that was added.

Sounds good to me. Does the color need to be mentioned or is the picture good enough for that?

You mean overall color of straps as a whole? I think we are going to try and make a base statement at the start of the CRL about colors, but we may need to revisit that, honestly.

Yeah, I meant regarding the color of the strap itself. I wasn't sure if it needed to be part of that particular section of the CRL or not. :)

unless its a seperate color, the base color of the entire suit will be denoted in the text preceeding the Helmet section.

Perfect, that was what I was thinking!

With that being said, I'm going to update the shoulder straps with the following text:

Shoulder Straps

  • These shall be securely mounted in front and may free float in the back. They can be affixed with rivets, Velcro or adhesive.
  • Unlike a regular stormtrooper, there is no front or rear tab on the strap and they must not be present.

Time to move onto the Shoulder Armor!

Here is what I have for the Shoulder Armor, should be pretty simple:

Shoulder Armor

  • One on each shoulder.
  • The shoulder bells are considered effectively symmetrical. They can be worn interchangeably on the left and right shoulders.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):

  • There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and chest/back plate.

do we need any comment on how they are attached?

I don't think so, just that they are worn on the shoulders. We don't really specify that on the shadow stormtrooper.

sounds good.  Was just thinking in my old GML brain about whether straps should or should not be seen when referencing the original source graphic.
