  1. For now we will just keep picking at details and see what you have later. THX!
  2. @Trachta Very interesting…the joint “undersuit”. Was that CGI’d out of the screen appearance to look empty?
  3. @MisterxM if I could make a suggestion…if you are 100% a go, Id say lets get the CRL wordsmiths and any that would like to help on this with you to draft a version based on what we find as we find it. That should help you prep your build and help avoid some surprises while you are building. @IcyTrooper @Blackwatch @Chaos @tipperaryred and any others are the best at wording the details and requirements. @nanotek whatcha think? that sound ok?
  4. I will say @tipperaryred Im rooting for you. I personally was never a fan of the red, but an all black version w a helmet that doesnt look like a bobble head is up my alley. If drafting a CRL based mostly off previous ones can be done, Id say do the draft and make the minor adjustments and then give it a shot!
  5. Typically @tipperaryred it is in reverse…where action figures (in this case the miniatures) get disregarded, not the art. That being said, consistency over 25 years on whats done hasnt been the best. The question I have…is there enough art to support a CRL and build (front back sides) OR will the LMOs allow the use of the miniatures to “fill in gaps” that art doesn’t give such as the back?
  6. The right arm looks the same in both pics to me, but yea I see that the pic w the dark saber the left arm does look different than the the duel w Sabine. Eek lol. This happens all the time w/ comics, not as much on screen. That may mean we should dig and find some more references from the show and see if there’s some “progression” or evolution the armor takes thru the episodes. I dont know. Could just be an error/inconsistency.
  7. When I zoom up on the hand plate triangle it just looks like weathered paint. No elevation or recession that I can see. I would say the handplate is just attached to the glove, not the forearm armor. But yea, if you are building Gar, that forearm armor is different than the 3D model for sure.
  8. Im just screen capturing on my phone and cropping. Here I think you’re right that the squares should probably go lower closer to the wrist. One thing I noticed is that Gar’s armor is not identical to the others in a few spots and these forearms are the first example. No angled V section at all (though I do agree with your assessment that the V in the 3D model is sharper than what we see on the grunts). And while we are looking around the hands, Id say the hand plate is a little wider and shorter…the triangle larger…and the triangle is just a painted icon, not a raised detail (or etched). On the forearm it looks like painted white lines outlined in black. Comparing that to the helmet lines…those look to have depth and seem etched and I think you could make the case that the forehead triangle outline is etched.
  9. Yea…we (or you) just need to look at the the rest of the parts and make comparisons to what we see in the actual references. Take a look at those parts and compare n post what you think you see
  10. Its hard to say at first glance without doing a side by side comparison (as best as we can muster) with the actual references. No one has ever come close to presenting any progress or costume drafts that we have done that. Starting with just the helmet, Id say its pretty close but not perfect. Things that could be better: -Gaps between the teeth seem to wide. -The visor slit down the center is shaped like a thin inverted V while the reference is more straight or even slightly wider in the center (tho still thin all the way down). -The helmet face appears to slope outwards in the 3D model…but this shot makes it seem more flat/almost no slope from the face. Cant find a good reference shot on file to show the back. Are those details deal breakers? I cant say…but just things I noticed on the bucket to start.
  11. Im shocked it didnt get a base approval as well. Garrison? The suggestion by @Chaos is solid. Foam in the forearms so theyre a bit more snug so you can adjust where they sit a bit better. Id attempt the minor adjustment and a resubmission before moving on from it
  12. i typed a post and forgot to click submit lol. doh! anyways…this is the master list we have (so far) of vendors. https://forum.specops501st.com/topic/7727-vendor-master-list-stormtroopers/ i suggest the recruit create an account and post here so they can get assistance from all the folks here
  13. Don’t think of each as a “level”…think of them as entirely different costumes. When we examine the references closely, my guess is many of the parts you use for the animated won’t be able to be used for the realistic. Now…just go for it! ?
  14. There could potentially be 2 different versions. The one @MrShadow was attempting to was the Force Arena video game version which is more “realistic” of a look. The other is the animated Rebels version. You find a similar distinction in clone trooper armors (movie vs animated). The only word of caution I would give…dont attempt to cross-blend the 2 styles. They have different references and whichever version you choose, you would need to commit to those references. So the question really is, do you prefer to follow and have a more animated-style costume or not? That would determine which version you would attack.
  15. Right now it is a blank slate. We have no CRL draft…just some compiled references and some people who started builds but never finished the new CRL process. Still looking for someone to cross that bridge and be willing to be the first.
  16. @BigJasoni Only 2 approved. Allan is one…and then Christian is the other. He used to be in my garrison (and I think is returning from Japan). He is much shorter than Allan…maybe 5’5” and a very slim frame. Ive seen one other tho I dont think approved. Not sure if it is the guy I have on FB who wears it or his daughter. Anyways…heres Christian and I
  17. Hey @Syntaxerror! Build looks pretty good! I see a few things to address for Level 1 and a couple things that are hard to make out for both Level 1 and 2. For Level 1: -The bund should not be creeping out below the belt. -I circled both rivets here that need to be painted black. *Not really a requirement at Level 1 but it is for Level 2, but I circled the bicep greeblies…typically the little circle dots should be on the front of the bicep (see the CRL gallery for side images). For Level 1 (cant make out or questionable): -Cant make out the cod here but it looks like the fit could be a bit cleaner. Also, I cant make out if you have the curved stitch (not chevron) detail. Bunching is something considered at Level 2. -And then you may get feedback from your GML about the bunching around the back of your neck for Level 1. I cant tell if you’re using a neck seal or if thats the balaclava not pulled fully up. For Level 2, fit is considered and Id say that would probably be something we address as a team. Additional Level 2: -Cant make out if you have the left side helmet decal (it doesnt appear to be there). -Is the helmet bolt concave? -And then pics would be required to verify all the strap measures, top of the back tank, etc. Overall though I dont think you have a ton of modifications to make…so Id say GO FOR IT!!!
  18. And thats not on the current CRL right?
  19. Nice @Fivezero but hold up hold up hold up lol. What about the Jumptrooper????
  20. The CRL model custom built his own. Currents that we are aware of noone sells any of the Task Force 99 specific parts
  21. Cant see the final pics but gratz regardless.
  22. This is basically the look you’re going for. An exacto knife (being very careful) works to make the cuts. Id recommend sketching in pencil first so u can get the spacing set before cutting.
