Matt's IAT Aldhani Build WIP
Blackwatch replied to TreeHuggerMatt's topic in Imperial Army Trooper - Andor
if you are using the two part bicep, you can add a slice to the inside to get the expansion you need. Monjouro at my fairly low dose really works my blood sugar down to reasonable levels! -
Del Meeko CRL Change proposals FEBRUARY 2025
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Inferno Squad Del Meeko
Something was just brougth up about the vest that has been missing. There are two vertical seams on the vest at the inner edge of the webbing, on the outer edge of the M16 pouches. Im adding verbiage to what we have agreed upon. In the game play one looks topstitched, one looks butt jointed. Im willing to allow either for L1. New text in green. Please comment. Change log 2.1 Tactical Vest The tactical vest and its pouches are made of black fabric similar to the flight suit material. Heavy black canvas is recommended. There are three M4 / M16 style magazine pouches fitted to the front of the vest, each filled by a rectangular package covered in the same fabric as the tactical vest. The packages fill the pouches completely, and extend above the pouch. Each package has a black gloss strip mounted to the front at the top, which should appear to be constructed from a similar material to the costume's hard armour parts. There is a black block on the right side of the vest matching references, held in place by one of the webbing straps described below There are a total of fourteen wide horizontal black webbing straps sewn onto the front of the tactical vest, with four stacked horizontally on either side of the pouches, and two at the front of each pouch. Straps are approximately 1" (25mm) wide and sewn to match reference images. There are two vertical stitched lines near the inner edge of the horizontal webbing strips. This may be topstitched or butt joined. The main shoulder straps are made from leather or leather-like material, which cross at the back and attach to the top edge of the vest on both sides. The front shoulder straps are attached to triglide buckles, which in turn attach to the top front edge of the vest with a shorter strap. The shoulder straps cross near the top of the back armor box. Each shoulder strap runs through a tri-glide at the rear before feeding into approximately 1" (25mm) wide side release buckles which attach to the top edge of the vest. There is a leather or leather-like waist strap (approximately 1" or 25mm wide) present at the back of the tactical vest, and it is attached to the vest with one quick release buckle on the right or left side of the vest at the wearer's option. This quick release buckle is hidden under the scout pouch, and is not seen when worn. A single adjusting tri-glide is centered on the back waist strap. There is a specific buckle greeblie mounted above the front tri-glide buckles on each side, matching reference images. There is a horizontal strip mounted to each front shoulder strap, several inches above the buckle greeblie. The strips should be made from the same material as the shoulder straps. The Flyye tactical vest is not accurate and will not be approved for use. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The vest is proportional to the wearer. See reference images and the Costume Gallery for placement of specific components. All shoulder and waist straps are made of black leather or leather-like material. Vest front tri-glides are made with reference to the games 3D model, and are attached to the vest with straps that are approximately 1.37" x 1.37" (35mm x 35mm) wide. Buckle style greeblies made with reference to the 3D models are attached to the shoulder straps above the tri-glides. The front shoulder straps which go over the shoulder and continue to the back are made of 3 layers which are glued, sewed or bonded together. Stitching is permitted as long as the stitches are small and do not detract from the overall appearance. The first (bottom) layer is approximately 1.37" (35mm) The middle layer shall be approximately 1" (25mm) wide. The final layer is approximately 9/16" (15mm) wide. The layered part of the leather shoulder straps runs up over the shoulders and stops below the rear of the collar. It then continues on as an approximately 1" (25mm) wide black strap, passing through tri-glides and into side release buckles, which are held to the vest with straps that are approximately 1" (25mm) wide. The three magazine pouches fall below the bottom edge of the vest. The top of the pouch is in line with the bottom edge of the upper webbing strap. The bottom edge of the pouch may come close to but not touch the top edge of the overbelt. -
I just heard back from Jim on my own L2 level tac vest , its a change to how he has produced them in the past. Its looking really good and once I have it in hand I will share on my own WIP.

Tal Skirata - Army trooper V2 & Mina Rau Wip
Blackwatch replied to Tal Skirata's topic in Imperial Army Trooper - Andor
yanno-I totall see how you feel! I wrote the CRLs for Del and the Army troopers, and I never actually thought I would be joining either one, but here I am workign on stuff for Sergeant Gharial and for Del! In your experience were the goggles smaller than seen on the helmets or were they baicially the same item in size and scale? We have had some preliminary discussion on it, but not got to them yet. Personally I love the look of google on caps. I know it skeeves some people, but it reminds me of ally my WWII research as a model builder. In the US Army in the 80s we had them issued to us but unless we were at the National Training Centr or doing helicopter Rearm and Refuel we rarely wore them. -
I beliee that is a Cucblac suit, it looks like his and it has the zippers at the bottom. He is located in Bolivia. Could possibly be a Fenixprops suit from Argentina.

We've had a request to amend the CRL for the Imperial Army Trooper. I will keep this topic open until the end of the month, when it will be closed and discussed by Staff. Currently CRLs are not being updated due to ongoing maintenance and overhaul issues with the Legion CRL system, so we can discuss, but also have to wait our turn for publising anything. Please see this topic so we do not re-cover ground already discussed. Reference photos Reference Photos

Matt's IAT Aldhani Build WIP
Blackwatch replied to TreeHuggerMatt's topic in Imperial Army Trooper - Andor
Matt Ive lost 160 pounds-over 11 stone- so yea armor is a great motivator. So is diabetes and paying for that medication out of pocket because my insurance wont pay it😕 I dropped soda and instantly lost a ton of water weight then started focusing on major diet and dialy routine changes. It all adds up. But now my armor fits. You can get there! -
ISB Tactical Agent - CRL Discussion

Agree with the chest proposal, and I think we can list the back at this point. From looking at the great closeups of Luis Martins' Instagram Post the weathering is very clearly black/brown wash just slopped on. Looks fine on camera but like crap in person. Sebastions question will be answered next but mentaly I've been leaning towards heavy marine vinyl, the stuff that has the backing on it that doesnt want to crease so easy. I just rewatched the scene where Gharial exits the cockpit and comes down the stairs, its a shiny flexible material, no pebble grain. it does swing when they walk. This is a mental note to myself, and we will cover that bit when we come to it. Back armor proposal- taken directly from our Andor Trooper CRL text. Change Log 1.0 Back Armor Back plate is painted to match the chest armor and helmet. Back plate has a collar that extends upwards and tapers to the chest plate. Chest and back plate meet at the sides. The backplate features painted details that vary from trooper to trooper. Acceptable colors for these details are either silver or gunmetal, but one color must be chosen. Mix and match of the detail items is not permitted. There are 2 hose connectors located at the top of the back plate approximately centered above each rectangular cut out/greeblie. Hose connecters are painted to match the strap raised slot, strap buckle, and recessed box color. Back has two large cut out recesses with vent details and greeblies inside, all painted silver or gunmetal. The silver or gunmetal paint does not leave the edge of the box opening. The vents at the top of the boxes may have the openings darkened with weathering. Four raised bars approximately .375" (10mm) long aligned to the top of the recessed box opening may be present. Each recess has different and specific set of boxes inside that are painted to match the recessed box color. Light weathering is permitted. Bottom left features a smaller rectangle cut out with the left side stepped. Half circle indent detail beneath the backpack section must be present. There is a long thin raised greeblie positioned central and below the 2 large recesses. There is a small raised circle greeblie positioned central and below the above named greeblie. There is a raised slot on each shoulder for the straps to fit into. The raised slots are painted either silver or gunmetal grey. Shoulder straps are black and are affixed to the chest plate at the buckle. The chest buckle shall match the raised slot color. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The hose fittings are angled forward. There is a recessed hole approximately .31" (7.8mm) above the top left corner of the left recessed box. There are two indented squares approximately 1⁄4" x 1⁄4" (5mm x 5mm) aligned vertically above the right upper corner of the left recessed box. There is a raised step on the bottom of the main back box. Discussion We need to make sure that the buckles and the boxes are the same as what we see in Andor. Or not. Kevin Weier has stated on his Instagram posts abot making this new costume that he has upgraded and changed buckles and at least one part of the back box. Proposed changed for the back side: Back plate is painted to match the chest armor and helmet. Back plate has a collar that extends upwards and tapers to the chest plate. Looking good. Im so busy Im honestly not looking forward to making my own....
-
yeahhhh i run into that with the fabric treatment on Jawa monk cloth all the time. YOu have to scald the waterproof treatment off of it with hot water and I was advised 91% ISO alchohol will strip it but that will get very expensive very quickly. It almost seems easier to use regular heavy tent canvas, dye it black and add any details needed to make it a plash.

The Ghostface's Imperial Security Trooper WIP
Blackwatch replied to Ghostie20's topic in Imperial Security Trooper - Andor
Thanks for the update Nathan. I have to get all my parts too for the ISB tactical agent, so Im right there with you. Im glad I did not order the black undersuit, ive lost so much weight nothing really fits me anymore, a good problem to have but its getting expensive to replace stuff. I have Seans files from the mudtrooper site and I know Jason had remixed some especially the buckles. For your belt, I have both. Wampas buckle is pretty basic, I know- I helped him out with a ton of his line. The Dharmans buckle is a metal plate, while Wampas buckle is a cast (I believe, ihave two of his) metal buckle. I would say the leather is a wash, its just leather. Its up to you which to go with, and there is a small price difference. Baily left the US in November but Kilani over the IOC took over the production line. I spoke with him and he intends to keep the same quiality, but since its not his full time job the production rate will not be the same. I have those belt boxes (And officer belt with metal plate and raw edges) and they are great. Philo is based in Italy and you will be dealing with internatinoal shipping. -

Del Meeko CRL Change proposals FEBRUARY 2025
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Inferno Squad Del Meeko
Ok, so its been a couple of days since the last post, with no further discussion. I will presume to clear and lock these sections. I have moved the final proposals to the CRL final text topic. -
I ordered my L2 compliant helmet from Pilotbay from his new molds. It's very small, my eyelashes actually touch the lens materal, it rips my ears off taking the helmet off and coming from well over a hundred troops in Dan Laws TIE and ATAT helmets this is a big change for me. Laying my helmets side by side not only is the size different but the shape as well. The game-design inspired helmets are different, skinnier, smaller, tighter and the vocoder is clearly different. We had even discussed breifly making the requirement to have the vocoder made of seperate tubes, like using RC fuel tubing with wire inside, vs. using a seperate molded piece. That did not pan out, but in the end the vocoder is seprate from the faceplate.

ive done a lot of plastic model sanding wth Micromesh polish abrasives up to 12000 grit, starting around 6000. I used to polish plastic model airplane canopies to clear from whatever waviness the factory molded the plastic in. Followed with a proper plastic polish after the sanding the results are amazing. it does take work, you wwork it wet (to keep it cool and remove the slurry) and it takes time but its amazing when done.

may be able to stretch the file a little on the XY size and keep the Z lenght. Might make any buttons/ holes come out wonky.

I havent had a chance to get to the rubber store in baton rouge they have all sorts of heavy industrial rubber and silicon products, they may have this. Did you get your rubber belt local purchase or online? ive lost so much weight nothing much will fit me anymore so I may as well get the new files from GA. I was just about to comment on the grooves but went back to the top and reread Deamos' post, definitely grooved leather. I bougth a grooving tool at Tandy and now im kicking myself for paying makers an extra 15 bux to groove the thing for me. 🫤All I need now is a big slab and I can make my own belts. On Sgt Gharials' belt you can see the top of the leather where it gets fuzzy from rubbing against fabric. My belt from Baily Builds does that. v

ISB Tactical Agent - CRL Discussion
Blackwatch replied to IcyTrooper's topic in Imperial Security Bureau
thanks Sebastion and that proves a point I was going to make. Ive given model kit demonstrations on weatheirng to appear under studio lights. Models for movies like Star WArs and Battlestar Galactica was SUPER weathered just to show up on filmstock. Tarrif's white armor proves this. I feel that "Light to moderate weathering consistant with reference images is permitted" would be appropriate for L1 while "Moderate weathering consistant with reference images is required" Ive seen guys use those brownish paint marker sponge things and just dab it all over and the armor looks like a cheetah. -

Del Meeko CRL Change proposals FEBRUARY 2025
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Inferno Squad Del Meeko
Ok lets try THIS - Flightsuit FINAL FINAL text. (This time we REALLY mean it!) One-piece flight suit is made out of a suitably heavy fabric. A canvas style fabric is most suitable, but other fabrics consistent with the visual references are entirely acceptable. The front zipper is covered by a 2" (50mm) wide piece of leather or leather-like material with vertical lines that attaches with Velcro over the zipper. Approximately 1.5" (38mm) tall mandarin collar with a chevron shaped, left-over-right Velcro closure. A 2.5" (63.5mm) red embroidered or PVC Inferno Squad emblem, on a black background, is present on both shoulders. The shoulders of the suit are slightly padded. A compad pocket that properly fits the compad is placed above the left glove so that the pocket is not hidden and faces outward on the arm. On the left bicep below the cog emblem, there is a code cylinder pocket with no flap, and vertical stitching dividing it into pen sleeves. No code cylinders are present. The bottom front corner is cut off at an angle. A piece of leather or leather-like material is sewn below the pen sleeve openings and is the same length as the top of the pocket. The right sleeve has a cargo pocket with a chevron flap below the cog emblem. Two large chest pockets and two large front pockets with no zippers or flaps are present below the belt. There are no leg pockets below the knees. There are two red stripes that run up the right side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the right leg and continues up to the right armpit. The second begins at the right wrist and stops at the bottom of the arm pocket. The stripe then continues above the arm pocket, behind the patch emblem to the shoulder seam. The red arm stripe stops at the top of the shoulder seam, but continues up and over the shoulder as a black stripe. There are two black stripes that run up the left side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the left leg and continues up to the left armpit. The second begins at the left wrist and stops at the bottom of the arm pocket. The stripe then continues above the arm pocket, behind the patch emblem to the shoulder seam. The black arm stripe stops at the top of the shoulder seam, but continues up and over the shoulder to the collar. For basic approval this can be accomplished with topstitching. The black portion of this stripe stops at the collar. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Patches are vinyl on textile with no edge border. If twill is used for the patch material the fabric texture will be vertically oriented. The black stripes on top of the shoulders shall be a material matching texture and weave of the red stripe. Textured canvas is most accurate for the flightsuit's construction as it is a thick materials with a "solid" structure. A "loose", soft or lightweight material is not accurate. -

Blackwatch replied to IcyTrooper's topic in Imperial Security Bureau
agreed. I believe we can rapidly move through those sections. Boots appear to be the same as well. The next piece in CRL order is the chest armor. We know the origin, there are minor differences to be discussed. We need to verify that the back box insets are the same as the security trooper when we get to the back armor, but this is only for the chest. Proposal colors Modified text New text Removed text Chest Armor Change log 1.0 Original text. We know the color is whilte so Im just going to go ahead and make that change now. Reference photo from our Security Trooper CRL gallery for reference against our white troopers. Chest Armor Chest armor matches visual references being accurate in shape and design. The join between the chest and back armor are created by an angled sweep starting at the bottom of the chest armor and finishing at the bottom of the back armor. This may be held closed with magnets, Velcro, or another hidden fastener. There is an indented area around the outer edge of the center flat section. Buckles attach to upper chest plate and match the armor color. and are painted gunmetal or dark silver. Shoulder straps are affixed to the chest plate at the buckle. The shoulder strap is black white. It is permitted to be made of cast flexible urethane or other flexible material. To the lower left side of the center flat panel is a recessed area angled inward from bottom to top with a raised rectangle greeblie and a recessed horizontal elongated oval. Left of the recessed area is a raised square that extends from the center to the curved side of the armor. On the top left side of the raised area is a raised oblong detail that protrudes outwards. Chest shall be painted to match helmet and back armor. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Buckles have black recess on upper narrow section and the lower recess shall expose the chest armor. Buckles may have silver paint chipping showing gunmetal underneath the silver. Discussion: over on Kevin Wiers's Imperial Surplus IG account he commented that this seaon he noted that new fittings were being used on the buckles, thes are Martin Baker ejection seat buckles and a different part number was used for some of the buckle components. Those with sharper eyes than mine can dive into the particulars on these fittings, but for my money, if you have the rigth configuration thats great for L1. I know @BigJasoni had remixed some buckles at one point for the MudtrooperUK files and I had printed those back then. -

agreed. We shall proceed with the belief that these were reused from Season 1 without mofification. Change log 1.0 (Final text proposal) Tunic A long-sleeved, black jacket that falls just to mid-thigh, with no visible zippers or buttons. Fabric is a plain weave cotton similar to duck canvas. Has a high mandarin style collar with a left-over-right closure that rises from the front of the tunic. The front closure overlaps left over right and rises from the hem at the bottom of the tunic to the top of the collar. Four rectangular pockets are present on the jacket front, covered by large flapped closures. Lower pockets are larger than the ones on the upper chest. Lower pocket seams rest on the same seam as the end of the tunic The rear of the jacket has a horizontal seam present near the upper back. Two vertical seams start below the horizontal upper back seam moving down the bottom of the jacket. Two black tunic hooks to hold the belt in place are permitted. If used, the hooks will pass from the inside of the tunic to the outside through holes on either side of the tunic at the hip. The belt covers the holes. One pocket is present on each arm of the jacket, each covered by large flapped closures. The top of the arm pocket flaps are in line with the top edge of the chest pockets. Cuffs on the sleeves are about mid-distance to the elbow. The material folds back on itself to form the cuff. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The front jacket flap will have rectangular stitch marks with a stitched X inside where Velcro is attached to keep the flap closed. Fabric has the appearance of waxed canvas or oilskin fabric. If left arm rank bars are present, the black fabric should be similar to duvetyn type of fabric and will have 3 equidistant horizontal stitch lines through each rank bar. -

JuiceBox's Security Trooper Build
Blackwatch replied to TonyJuiceBox's topic in Imperial Security Trooper - Andor
Good question, and it will either become a new tabbed variant, or recieve a new CRL. Ill review with Staff. Im inclined to add verbiage to cover the "green" newbie Ghorman troopers who had brand new armor, but also riot helmets and sheilds.
