colors are strange, especially with fading light. Now I REALLY want to get another set of boots to paint green! -
The link works and they show my size but most of the informatino is greyed out Were you able to order? I wear a size 13EE and I ordered a 13 on Ebay when I got mine. They fit, but a 14 would be better after a few hours of trooping. I need a set for my Army trooper.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Im glad to see the Engineer taking off. Its such a SIMPLE and versitale costume that its easy for anyone to do on a budget. We already have two in my Garrison and there is interest for more. Youll find the straps lay on your shoulders better if you make less of an H and more of a modified M. Does that make sense? The straps at the back should be narrower togehter than the spacing at the front, it will make it fit your shoulders. Looking forward to another Engineer! someone has to run those pumps!

CRL Development - Imperial Army Sapper (Complete)

Back from another LONG and BUSY weekend! Good find!!! The stupid patch on the back of my gloves that I put on for the engineer has come off each time I wear them. The gloves recommended in the original topic that Tarrif created in January recommended a nice mens dress glove. But the pleather is so smooth nothing wants to stick to it, and Im forever messing with my gloves and gluing the square pad back on. I was considering getting new gloves, masking them off and hitting them with five or six coats of truck bed spray on liner to make the square pad. to be honest, what Neal has here looks better than what Im currently wearing, at nine troops in plus a dozen odd times test fitting. So...twenty times worn and Im already looking at replacing my gloves since they dont look that great after use. While the rectangular pad on the back of Neals glove is not perfectly square or rectangular, I think an argument can be made that it meets the intent of the glove with the L2 padding. The V notch can be sealed up with Barge cement from the backside and a slab of leather or marine vinyl. The cuff on my coveralls keeps my glove opening pretty well covered. On the Sapper specialty tabs, they are not like the patches we think of from Moritz.- her machine cant do the merrowing and heat sealing. They come as a slab as an embroidered slab of fabric. I cut around them 3/8", tucked them under after making a bunch of pie cuts, and glued the tabs down with Beacon adhesive, then stitched them on. Under the four foot rule its hard to tell they are not a manufactured patch. @Raider yes it says Sapper. We downloaded the TT font and installed it in my wifes computer. We can make it say just about anything by adjusting the size of the tab. I used my old 101st Airborne tab for the measurement. @TX-15293 send me your address and I can mail you a slab of Tabs out. That way if your pack comes in and you are ready to go, you will have the L2 proposal to show the LMO. Regarding the size and shape of the IA patch, I agree that it is artists concept. Same thing we see in all the other comics, where artists are under pressure to complete a panel and get as much detail in as quickly as they can. Additionally we are going to see Engineers upgrade to this, using LMO approved patches from the first run. -
New CRL Proposal: Imperial Army Officer (Various Sources)

Since this is a ground Commander I think the rank of anything above Colonel are the Imperial equivalent of a colonel would be effective and allowable. Currently working on my goggles they came in Friday and I am upgrading the entire goggle to appear more like that in the ATAT ground commander with a tan strap option.- 89 replies

CRL Development - Imperial Army Sapper (Complete)
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Imperial Army Sapper
My wife downloaded the true type font on her home embroidery program and created a tab shape in the program. She spaced out each letter and then rotated each letter to match the curve of the tab. It took a little while to set it up and it took a little doing to get it to embroider correctly. Considering we did this on a home machine it should be doable on a commercial process. She used Sew-art and Sew what pro64 on her computer, and a Singer Futura home embroidery machine. Most of the tabs have no text but each of the sappers has a tab present. Doing a quick Google search show me a bunch of places that can customize a olive drab tab. The question comes down to level 1 for a blank tab, and level 2 for a tab with Aurbesh Sapper text. I tried writing it on with a sharpie and it looked like carp. I would like to get the LMOs input for English SAPPER for L1. Laying out the Aurbesh text for embroidering: here you can see the individual character being turned to fit into the tab she laid out. finished product off the table, and ready to trim to size. In the end we made quite a few of these on olive fabric from Joanns. I propose the following: Imperial Army Patch For 501st approval: Patch is shield shaped and is located between the elbow and the shoulder about midway. The patch has an Imperial cog symbol approximately 2.75" - 3" in diameter. The background of the patch has a more narrow shield shaped design on top of a box colored a darker shade of green. An olive green tab patch is permitted between the shield patch and the shoulder seam. For level two certification (if applicable): the word SAPPER appears in Aurbesh on the patch -
We don't have any shoretroopers here so I'm not familiar with how they look but boy that second picture really illustrates the fish hook inset detail. @Raider I should be able to edit yours I'm on my tablet right now checking things over then I'll jump on my PC and see if I can do it.

I bought these for comparison. Uvex Futura safety goggle. I am convinced it is what we see in the At At commander CRL. https://www.m.ebay.com/orderDetails?_trksid=p2501496.m2548.l2673&itemId=223153850382&txnId=2154704550012- 89 replies

CRL Development - Imperial Army Sapper (Complete)
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Imperial Army Sapper
In this second post, Ill turn attention to the explosives. TYPE B charge on top of pack ,Type D charge on bottom. TYPE A on top of the left TYPE B on top of the right. Type E charges seen on right pack. Two type A charges. this part is kind of dislocated, but mentions that two types of charges can be mounted to the top. A or B. There will always, in all circumstances, be a charge on top. Two different types may be mounted to the top of the boxes. The charge mounted to the sides may be mounted to the left or right of the pack. A different charge is mounted to the bottom of the pack. All demolition charges and mounting straps are painted matching grey. Primer grey is acceptable. Webbing or other means of representing the mounting straps will closely match the charge color. No color "warning" stripes or LEDs are permitted on the charges or pack. here is the proposal, so you can compare to the items posted above: Explosive Charges TYPE A This demolition charge is mounted to the top of the pack, and is roughly 4"- 4 ½" diameter with slightly larger end caps and is as wide as the backpack boxes. Both end caps feature 1" wide "coin slots" matching the diameter of the tube. Two grey mounting straps made of textile, plastic or other material are present on this charge. TYPE B This is the second charge type seen on top of the backpack. It is roughly 3.5"- 3.75" diameter and longer than the pack is wide. The beveled ends feature a depressed area with a slightly raised lip, and have 1" wide "coin slots" matching the diameter of the tube. Two grey mounting straps made of textile, plastic or other material are present on this charge. TYPE C This charge has flattened end caps slightly wider than the charge itself may be mounted to the right or left side of the pack. One Inch wide "Coin slots " are present on the end caps. TYPE D This demolition charge may be mounted to the bottom of the pack. It is almost as wide as the pack boxes and features rounded end caps with a flat spot / depression at the ends of the caps. TYPE E . These small demolition charges may be present horizontally along the bottom pack boxes below the shovel if mounted. These four charges are roughly the size of a can of soda, with a 2"-2.5" band around middle. There is an indented ring approximately 3/8" below the top of the charge. The bottom of the charge is flat, the top is a dome and features a raised disc at the top of the dome. It is permissible to use 2"-2 ½" webbing closely matching the color of the charges for the band to hold the charges together in a group. For Basic Approval Basic four block backpack, with either TYPE A or TYPE B explosive Charge mounted on top of the boxes. Choose 1 of these options: Shovel OR Right side Charge OR Type E Charge string. For level two certification (if applicable): Backpack shoulder straps should appear to be 2-part adjustable consisting of webbing with a chevron shaped top strap. A 1" "adjustment" strap passes over the shoulder , then goes into a hole in the strap, passes underneath the 2" strap and then exits the strap just above the chevron point . The 1" strap shall have a nylon "keeper" mounted below the point of the chevron. The adjustments need not be functional but should match source art. Level 2 Pack Option 1 Basic backpack outlined above with Type B, type D explosive charges, long pouch on right side of pack and shovel. Level 2 Pack Option 2 Basic backpack outlined above with Type A on top, Type C on the left side, long pouch on the right side and type E on the back of the pack. Neal I looked over the panels again, I may be missing one you are seeing. The other panels are either partial from the front or side, so we really cant see whats on the pack. As they are climbing into the canyon viewed from behind I see (Leader) Type A Type C (left) Pouch (right) and type E . no shovel on this one hes probably got it in his hands. The follower is set up with a Type B and D top and bottom with a pouch on the right and shovel. Ive added the proposed parts in green above. The basic loadout requirment is for the pack, the A or B top charge, and either a shovel, E charge or C charge on the side. In one panel I see a B / E / Shovel, and A / shovel. The rest in that panel is conjecture. -
CRL Development - Imperial Army Sapper (Complete)

Yeah, its a lot, lets break it down. This post will relate just to the tab as seen in the source art. Originally in the Engineer discussion, the proposal was for a unit motto or "sapper". This says SAPPER. There are two panels with a scribble in the tab yhat would simulate text; the one posted below and the panel where the sappers are digging. The rest of the tabs are there in the art, but you cannot tell if there is anything there. You would have to come to the conclusion that since they were drawn by the artist that they were intended to say something, as a skill tab does. Original topic discussion for your reading pleasure, going back to the end of January. -
OK I found this. Upon reading it, it the math doesnt work. Lower Belt - Webbing Belt is black and is made from two nylon web straps sewn together with a zig-zag pattern which is approximately 3" (76.2mm) wide. The belt features five boxes. 1 x standard drop box, 2 x small, 2 x medium, 1 x long drop box. Boxes shall be painted the same colour as the chest plate and moderately weathered. Belt shall be worn loose across lower abdomen.

Moving on to the next section: Goggles Black trimmed military style goggles, with a Light Gray/Tan or Black strap. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Goggles are angular, and not rounded in shape. Strap is black, and approx 1.5cm in width, with a small buckle on both sides. The goggles used for the ATAT Commander should be the same as we see here. You can clearly see UVEX in the CRL photo, and these look like Uvex saftey goggles. CRL photo from the ATAT Commander and the Uvex safety anti fog goggle. this is Uvex part number 11250810 https://www.mscdirect.com/browse/tnpla/04498929?cid=ppc-google-New+-+Safety+-+PLA_sQuL1uGuI___164110844835_c_S&mkwid=sQuL1uGuI|dc&pcrid=164110844835&rd=k&product_id=04498929&gclid=Cj0KCQjwjbveBRDVARIsAKxH7vkOEVmxkPNcOSgz93k5G4rIHE7D07P71bJ7AV24Ut1GTeS9NfwXSwkaAkgCEALw_wcB This is well defined for what it is, and these goggles are about ten dollars on the 'bay. Clearly, the lens needs to be tinted for our use. The goggles can be painted with vinyl paint.- 89 replies

New CRL Proposal: Imperial Army Officer (Various Sources)
Blackwatch replied to izzi's topic in Imperial Army Officer
well, ok then, there is our answer. So, the armor and helmet will be a duplicate except in color of the ESB Veers armor, as detailed in the AT AT Ground Commander: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TA_AT-AT_Commander i had a discussion today about the rank insignia. We have three references which are different ranks. I would propose that we choose one of the three ranks seen in the art, which will simplify things greatly, or simply use the rank of "General", which is the four red and four blue tiles seen on both Veers armor and his ID uniform. We can cover that in detail. With the LMO input, Im going to fix the helmet section back to the way it orginally was, as copied from the AT AT ground commander.- 89 replies

Wren you've made a convincing argument against the rangefinder antenna ring. While I CAN see the part you originally posted, none of the views presented here have the circular antenna. History lesson: on old airplane photos youll see a circular antenna pointing up usually halfway back. That coupled with a static belly mounted antenna create a homing system to home in on radio signals. Wkrks great and a similar version is still in use today...the Audio Direction Finder System.- 89 replies
