  1. I made a E11 holster that will hold my DH17 since its the same thing without the magazine housing and different front end. But i needto renake it in leather. I used my other hoksters and copied that
  2. I'll be taking lead on this, I am fairly close and have almost all the parts other than helmet greeblies
  3. So a bit of an update...the green painted vinyl holster is about to get scrapped. After just two weeks the MG olive paint is sticky and the holster is a mess. It's coming off tonight. I'll make a new holster out if green vinyl. Or leather. Whichever I can find.
  4. absolutely, and Im glad to see the motion to go with what we curently have. Things happen, and props arent cheap, but this gets us started. I will do that in the morning when Im fresh and rested so I dont miss (or delete!) anything.
  5. Lucas, please give it serious consideration, this IS a work in progress and this is not a confirmed CRL yet. Know up front that if you do the costume, and if you are the first, you will likely be asked by the LMO to make changes prior to costume approval. I did this last year for the Engineer. We do need a "first person" to do it, and as you say, its a soft cap version. If you do so, please start a new WIP topic so we can monitor progress, provide input, and show a change log if the LMO asks for changes Just this past weekend I was wearing my green Army Trooper with the helmet, and I got a ton of compliments on it. It gets attention! This will too! .
  6. regarding the neckseal on these, why do we have it included in the CRL if in the next line, we state that for an accurate costume, it is not worn? To me deleting it and standing the collar up, mandarin style, along with the balaclava is correct for L1 and L2.
  7. no, you make sense, and I agree. We can put it into whichever working we want. The trick is to make sure we have available kits that match what we write, so not to stray so far off that the available kits arent being produced in order to match the CRL text.
  8. As I had asked in the other topic what's the feedback from everyone on the V1.1 proposal,?
  9. So what's the feedback from everyone on the V1.1 proposal,?
  10. That's how I'm reading it. Seems we have some more work to do here.
  11. Absolutely use us for help. Your weathering on the rifle looks great I used to airbrush transparent paint on to motorcycle models for that scorched effect. I would love to have that on my rifle rack wall.
  12. Blackwatch

    000 progress

    Too cool to fail.
  13. Booting this again, I made a traditional vinyl holster and painter it green then got it dirty
  14. Pewter grey....gonna remember that. Good old MDF!
  15. Thanks! I wore it three days at a con this past weekend and let me tell you this thing gets people's attention. I've been in every black coverall the Empire has for 11 years...but this is turning heads. My weathering is the best kind.....mud brushed out with a nasty brush. I also tromped through my backyard with the green boots and went down on my knees in the mud. I was always dirty in the feild in the Army so I'm dirty in this. I don't know what I got on my boots but they look awesome now. Oh and Michael's carries the MG olive green paint!
  16. That happens but the supply line is improving and the IAT and Engineers are steadily filling their ranks
  17. Good to know. I'll send the word to my Garrison.
  18. Wow that looks really sweet. Tried drilling my barrel out at work. There was a half inch bit in the press...but it's BENT and someone lost the Chuck key!
  19. Upon review it looks like the direction going forward is to have regular parts and let the glow from the LED strip do the work shining out from under parts vs. clear partially painted parts. The suit built now has achieved the desired look when the LEDs are powered up.
  20. Ok guys, taking another look after having a staff chat. Ty it looks like the L1 version of this will be lighted, and externally we can see the LED strip at the kidney. Would an L2 version include clear components with appropriately non-painted areas to allow the blue glow to come from behind?
