New CRL Proposal: Imperial Army Officer (Various Sources)
Blackwatch replied to izzi's topic in Imperial Army Officer
It seems there is no further input on the goggles at this time. I think that with the various Uvex brands we have ordered and received, we can post photos for reference and discussion. I also got a couple of pairs of Lancer tacticals that have black frames and shade 5 shields. SO, let us turn our attention to the coveralls. This is a major departure from other officers, both in color and construction. I am not sure that there is anything else like it in the 501st. Tan Imperial Army Jumpsuit One piece tan coverall / jumpsuit / flightsuit with a hidden front zipper and standing collar. The standing collar has square corners. Collar closes snugly and includes a modesty panel behind closure. Chest pockets may be present if completely hidden by armor. 2 large cargo pockets sit on the outside of the legs from around mid-thigh and not extending past top of the knee, with a rectangular or chevron flap covering the top. Sleeves are bare without pockets or patches No pockets on, or below the knees. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Jumpsuit chest has a right panel that extends from the side seam to 3" past the center point. The panel closes with a loop and button closure at the bottom about 2" above the waist. I would like to point out a change that should be made here: Jumpsuit chest has a right panel that extends from the side seam to 3" past the center point. this should read that the jumpsuit chest has a LEFT panel that extends from the side seam. It overlaps from the left, crossing the zipper and buttons on wearer's right. I have my made this modification to mine, along with all other mods above. Overall, this all cotton suit is EXTREMELY comfortable, and the majority of my 501st uniforms are coverall based. I know @wrendevu is working on hers as well. Can you post your coverall photo so we can compare?- 89 replies

dang I didnt see this. you can get the Action Back coveralls from Automotive workwear, model CT-10, or black dickies coveralls, whichever a person prefers. If you are bigger, you want the CT10s. -

Imperial Army Officer WIP (per CRL proposal)
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Imperial Army Officer
OK, so last night I started to mod the coveralls. i got the collar figured out, but its not on yet. I did put on the lower slab of fabric that covers the zipper above the waist line, and added a button loop. Ill put the button, collar and leg pockets on this week. I found matching fabric at the thrift shop: There are plenty of used Dickies kids school uniforms here, and girls skirts are a single slab of unstitched fabric. I carried a back pocket that I removed into the store with me and color matched. I got lucky! My goggles are set up. I made two straps to replace the original welding goggle strap. I made a black strap and a tan strap. I think the tans gonna look HAWT against the grey helmet. This is the same goggle previously approved for the ATAT commander. A very good looking goggle is the Uvex Ultra Vision goggle, if you can find it online. my goggles, black strap I made. -
These look to be about two inches shoter than my commuter boot, but the shape is great.

If anyone needs coveralls from Dickies I have a coupon for a 20% off sale. coupon Code BW108 good until 30 November. Applies to online in store of phone orders. Dickies.com I got a pair of 100% cotton tan coveralls for my Ground Commander and they are SO LIGHT! 20 percent off would have been even better.

Chargrilled Imperial Army Trooper Build

colors are strange, especially with fading light. Now I REALLY want to get another set of boots to paint green! -
The link works and they show my size but most of the informatino is greyed out Were you able to order? I wear a size 13EE and I ordered a 13 on Ebay when I got mine. They fit, but a 14 would be better after a few hours of trooping. I need a set for my Army trooper.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Im glad to see the Engineer taking off. Its such a SIMPLE and versitale costume that its easy for anyone to do on a budget. We already have two in my Garrison and there is interest for more. Youll find the straps lay on your shoulders better if you make less of an H and more of a modified M. Does that make sense? The straps at the back should be narrower togehter than the spacing at the front, it will make it fit your shoulders. Looking forward to another Engineer! someone has to run those pumps!

Im having a heck of a time staying online tonight. Krysis found Uvex Ultra Vision goggles with black frames and shade 5 green lenses. They need a strap change but otherwise look very similar to the artwork. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=uvex+ultravision&_sop=7 These are mine and required painting. -
CRL Development - Imperial Army Sapper (Complete)

Back from another LONG and BUSY weekend! Good find!!! The stupid patch on the back of my gloves that I put on for the engineer has come off each time I wear them. The gloves recommended in the original topic that Tarrif created in January recommended a nice mens dress glove. But the pleather is so smooth nothing wants to stick to it, and Im forever messing with my gloves and gluing the square pad back on. I was considering getting new gloves, masking them off and hitting them with five or six coats of truck bed spray on liner to make the square pad. to be honest, what Neal has here looks better than what Im currently wearing, at nine troops in plus a dozen odd times test fitting. So...twenty times worn and Im already looking at replacing my gloves since they dont look that great after use. While the rectangular pad on the back of Neals glove is not perfectly square or rectangular, I think an argument can be made that it meets the intent of the glove with the L2 padding. The V notch can be sealed up with Barge cement from the backside and a slab of leather or marine vinyl. The cuff on my coveralls keeps my glove opening pretty well covered. On the Sapper specialty tabs, they are not like the patches we think of from Moritz.- her machine cant do the merrowing and heat sealing. They come as a slab as an embroidered slab of fabric. I cut around them 3/8", tucked them under after making a bunch of pie cuts, and glued the tabs down with Beacon adhesive, then stitched them on. Under the four foot rule its hard to tell they are not a manufactured patch. @Raider yes it says Sapper. We downloaded the TT font and installed it in my wifes computer. We can make it say just about anything by adjusting the size of the tab. I used my old 101st Airborne tab for the measurement. @TX-15293 send me your address and I can mail you a slab of Tabs out. That way if your pack comes in and you are ready to go, you will have the L2 proposal to show the LMO. Regarding the size and shape of the IA patch, I agree that it is artists concept. Same thing we see in all the other comics, where artists are under pressure to complete a panel and get as much detail in as quickly as they can. Additionally we are going to see Engineers upgrade to this, using LMO approved patches from the first run.
