  1. The Imperial Armory is here to contact reliable sources of on-going runs of armor and equipment for 501st troopers. The seller may still post in the junkyard for the public to see, but here 501st members will find trusted sources for their armoring needs. In order to have a thread post, PM or email the DL with the title "Armory Addition" with a full description of your product and links to pictures. One of the command staff will then follow up and either post a thread here or contact you for more information. Thanks for keeping our troopers in plastoid, -iz
  2. Hey ya! This thread is fine to ask questions in. Yes, you can convert your Blackhole armor into a Nova or you can use separate pieces like I did to switch from Nova - Nova Elite - Blackhole. It's pretty easy. You need to paint the gold stripes on your shoulder bells, biceps, and forearms. Paint the hand plates solid gold. Paint the rim of your left shin gold and the diamond gold to match the references, And put a few light coats of gold paint on a pauldron so it matches your stripes. Then you just need a backpack (Like a Sandtroopers' but all black) and it always looks nice topped of with a BFG. You have 85% or the work done if you already have your black armor together. If you have any other questions look through the threads hear, as we've probably addressed them before, and if you still don't find an answer ask away! -iz
  3. Sure thing! Just get out to utah and you can troop in it as much as you like! -iz
  4. Okay, did some stuff last night and today. Took some scraps and stared to make a replacement shoulder piece for the back plate: Finished gluing the back of the helmet together: One thigh down and I love magnets: Last bit of one thigh, started on the shim to the other thigh, and the biceps: And cleaned up the shoulder. When I find some matching paint, I'll fill in the cracks and paint it nicely, until then no worries, that's the pauldron shoulder anyway! Forgot to cut the cod from the ab plate today, but the second thigh's glue is drying as I type and once I finish that, I'll be pounding snaps to rig the body. I did attach the ears to the helmet so, now that I know I didn't mess everything up, I just need to start drilling the teeth out and adding lenses and the finishing touches. I'll need to see if Scootch has any mic tips in stock too. Anyway, one more red suit well on it's way to being restored for the service of the Empire! -iz
  5. In the "where to buy" thread there is a link to a place in England that you can buy taller boots from. However, they only go up to about an 11 US. -iz
  6. Hasn't been done before, so we can't say for sure until next year's LMO is in place. -iz
  7. Just got the word from the guy who I bought the two fixer-upper Magmas from. He bought the red kits around March 2000... Still need to find an early member who wore black. -iz
  8. That is pretty sweet. Hang it on a wall! -iz
  9. lol. Hey, that's sort of thread hijacking... I think. You can also see that bucket in the forum backgrounds, after the paint job was touched up. Back to the SDS helmet... I think there is a 5 member minimum for a Det to be formed and a period of time for the approval process, so it would stand to reason that we had a Blackhole trooper or two in 2004, if not earlier. Crimson Empire I think was being reprinted around 2003 and was probably the inspiration for the first couple. It would be cool to find out for sure. -iz
  10. My 15 year old kid would get that joke! Plus MK has never truely died. (New one comes out in a couple months!) -iz
  11. "I kid" or "just kidding" is a term for joking around with someone, not a reference to their age. He was saying that he was joking about calling you a Noob. Of course someone calls me a Noob, I just go Saibot on them! -iz
  12. Well, this detachment was founded summer of 2005 so it would be interesting to find out when the first official Blackhole was approved in the Legion... I wonder if they have that on record anywhere. -iz
  13. Sweet! Can't wait to party with with my fellow Spec Ops (and family!)! -iz
  14. I've only restored armor that was not quite this bad, once before (See take 1)... So I'll probably be trolling the boards for ideas! And pics. Stuff glueing: Thigh shims created. The rest of the work was a lot of goo gone, razor blades and shop towels. -iz
  15. To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women.

  16. Okay. I actually did something on this today. I'll post pics later. It was mainly gluing the helmet and the fix to the backplate and cleaning more gunk off. -iz
  17. Dug it up... Progress! Searching for something... Oh yeah, the right handplates! The infamous cut off the head shot! Stuff getting done! -iz
  18. I don't see anything... Is it going to make me register and sign in? -iz
  19. Nice! Looking good. I have to wonder though... Does your wife have nothing but hair on her head? In all the photos she seems to be missing a face... (Can't tell if she actually likes wearing the armor!) Cousin It?
  20. Yes, the suit should be fine for 501st clearance. If there is anything wrong, the LMO will tell you what changes need to be made. They shouldn't be anything too hard provided the suit fits you right out of the box. -iz
  21. A few things you have to remember: 1) That's more expensive than most out there. 2) Just because it's pre-built doesn't mean you won't be modifying things to make it fit you. 3) A kit may take longer to put together, but you can put it together how you like it, and make it easy for you to put on and take off, and ensure the fit before you glue/velcro/snap things. -iz
  22. Sweet! That makes four of you that I know come visit our boards... And now that it's warming up, I should be finishing up mine. -iz
