There's stitching... and there's "decorative" stitching. Decorative stitching has a lot of excess fancy patterns etc. It's sort of a fine line. These look like they would be fine. Those red ones are really tempting for the Magma... -iz

I would just measure it out and follow the same lines as the original cut. She may be able to be approved with that, but keeping as close to the source as possible is what we go for as a costuming club. Keep it straight on the sides and then just deepen the "U" on the underside of the forearm if needed. -iz

OOhh... Helmets! My favorite subject! At one time gray was allowed on the buckets, however all of the really solid pics we have of both comics, figures, and statues/busts all are black. The Shadows of Mindor cover MAY have gray but it could just be the lighting. I would play it safe and keep the the ears black. We have a new LMO coming and I'm unsure what is going to happen with EU requirements. -iz

I just grab one of the $30 hide pieces and trace the plastic panels on it to make a leather version. Been thinking of a way to make something nicer, but been too lazy. I'll be buying more soon, for the Magma and AM Blackhole/Nova build, so I'll probably make a little tutorial in my build thread. -iz

I've never tried gluing the straps right to the bells. If they don't stick you may want to try a snap system with them. -iz

I use leather from Tandy that I dye and sheen up to a nice shine. Plus, it can hold the weight of a holster and blaster without a problem. -iz
