  1. That cast metal texture is great. We do that to model tanks that had cast turrets . This is well done.
  2. huh. OK....wow. I never had that problem with the green except when I put it on a vinyl holster I made for m IAT. That was dry at first and got sticky after a week. Its on my Army parts: Helmet, gloves, boots and all all soft harness parts, and has been pretty tough. now, you said Montana Black--I have to assume thats a different formula than Montana Gold we use on the IAT?
  3. its a bit out of focus, which straps arent you happy with?
  4. Blackwatch

    000 progress

WOW so in the video you are in jeans, will you be in spandex under the actual suit when you wear it?
  5. That's what I carry my gear in.......... just like I did in the Army! Love the stencil
  6. I laid on two different primers today, both a rustoleum product. typical rustoleum primer on the insides and rustoleum2x Flat Grey primer on the oustide which is clearly a darker color. This is for comparison purposes only. this is darker, but in direct sunlight.
  7. Looking at our art, and comparing it to the established CRL for the ATAT Commander, two issues come up which we have previously discussed. 1 Rank--on page 2 of this discussion we agreed that Spec Ops likes its option, that being 5 rank tiles. The ATAT commander, and Veers, wore four tiles. My current thinking before we propose this to the LMO is to reduce the rank tiles to a total of eight, four red and four blue. 2 the silver greeblie on the right side. it is not well defined, its hard to see, and in photos we know that the two lumps on Veers chest armor had three raised domes. Im willing to forgo the greeblie seen only in the character art, for the bumps we see in the Veers images, and on the approved ATAT commander.
  8. Im bumpng this: I made a helmet headset yesterday and I will paint it today, as well as trim.out my helmet. my armor is ready to paint. I would say I am at the 85% complete mark.
  9. I made a E11 holster that will hold my DH17 since its the same thing without the magazine housing and different front end. But i needto renake it in leather. I used my other hoksters and copied that
  10. I'll be taking lead on this, I am fairly close and have almost all the parts other than helmet greeblies
  11. So a bit of an update...the green painted vinyl holster is about to get scrapped. After just two weeks the MG olive paint is sticky and the holster is a mess. It's coming off tonight. I'll make a new holster out if green vinyl. Or leather. Whichever I can find.
  12. absolutely, and Im glad to see the motion to go with what we curently have. Things happen, and props arent cheap, but this gets us started. I will do that in the morning when Im fresh and rested so I dont miss (or delete!) anything.
  13. Lucas, please give it serious consideration, this IS a work in progress and this is not a confirmed CRL yet. Know up front that if you do the costume, and if you are the first, you will likely be asked by the LMO to make changes prior to costume approval. I did this last year for the Engineer. We do need a "first person" to do it, and as you say, its a soft cap version. If you do so, please start a new WIP topic so we can monitor progress, provide input, and show a change log if the LMO asks for changes Just this past weekend I was wearing my green Army Trooper with the helmet, and I got a ton of compliments on it. It gets attention! This will too! .
  14. regarding the neckseal on these, why do we have it included in the CRL if in the next line, we state that for an accurate costume, it is not worn? To me deleting it and standing the collar up, mandarin style, along with the balaclava is correct for L1 and L2.
  15. no, you make sense, and I agree. We can put it into whichever working we want. The trick is to make sure we have available kits that match what we write, so not to stray so far off that the available kits arent being produced in order to match the CRL text.
  16. As I had asked in the other topic what's the feedback from everyone on the V1.1 proposal,?
  17. So what's the feedback from everyone on the V1.1 proposal,?
  18. That's how I'm reading it. Seems we have some more work to do here.
