Im sick of painting--the hallway is left and we are DONE painting. The tile guy is a commercial tile guy and doing this after work now that he is back to three jobs a week. This is all after hours stuff for him. But its pro level work!

CRL Development - Imperial Army Sapper (Complete)
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Imperial Army Sapper
Im back in the forum, and looking things over. Neal you are on track with the harness and pouch. I dont know that I agree with the chelseas after being around TKs and TXs for ten years, the commuter boots look much closer. When the day comes that I can find my coveralls in this construction mess Ill get a pic of the commuters with the coveralls. There's no pull loops on the chest pouch but thatll come right off with a sharp knife. The snaps are perfectly located. Roy the patches certainly are an issue. I dont know what the final outcome will be on that. EDIT I looked back at the source images and i can see where the artist drew the TX chelseas differently than our engineer boots. there are a couple of good images of the TK shoe vs the boot, int he same frame, posted at the top of the topic. -
Im finally back online after what has seemed like forever. We flooded in 2016 and the last three weeks we have moved our house into our kitchen and dining area and living room. its a mess. I dont know where anything is. But tonight my room finished with new baseboards and I can start setting up my work room and office again. now I will be back in here working and helping out. I have a bit of reading to catch up on. No more busted concrete floors. yay!

Shane I did a search on the 'bay for commuter boot and those came up. Ill do my best to get to them this weekend. I need to see how they look in relation to my suit since I lopped off a little of the legs of my suit, but they should be fine for blousing and I have Army blousing rubbers.

CRL Development - Imperial Army Sapper (Complete)
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Imperial Army Sapper
I have corrected the CRL , cleaned up extra characters from the server migration, and checked it in both tablet and phone modes. This SHOULD appear "clean" on your devices. -
Its moving along. Ive been on several CRL teams, and considering just how many there are in development, this is going at a good rate.
-
Falcon you may want to hold off on purchasing anything quite yet until we get a working, formal CRL. At this point this is discussion phase, and like the big yellow warning at the beginning of the topic says, things might change before we are done writing the CRL. Andrew this is a very interesting graphic as well as your photos of the helmet and respirator. I have a couple of questions: It is confirmed that the fabric is a dark grey gaberdine? On the goggles, and earlier question / answer pointed that there are two goggles. I must admit that by looking at the reference pictures posted I cannot tell the difference between the two.

Ive got a real war era Stahlhelm I was giften and it is this grey, (plus a TON of rust). This is a good find. Have you ordered any yet? Im a sucker for large batches of spray paint, I would love a proper color chip. Feldgrau (its other name) is a common model color for model miniatures but that would look different due to "scale effect.

It would be fine for Level 1 approval, its what Im wearing because at that time, we did not have the commuter boot information. My commuter boots from Ebay should be here tomorrow and Im hoping they fit. I have monster size 13.5EEE feet. Consult your GML, but since it IS in the CRL for the Engineer, it would be approved as Level 1. Now, for Spec Ops Det levels, those have not been set up yet by the Det

good to know thanks for the heads up Shane. I don't mind tight so much, I get a better feel that way.

New CRL Proposal: Imperial Army Officer (Various Sources)
Blackwatch replied to izzi's topic in Imperial Army Officer
given that we have face character Veers to study and all other parts of the front side match (in art) , that's a reasonable position for the back armor. I found a great pic of Veers in the ATAT from the front and you can see the right earpiece.- 89 replies

I know at least one person here who wants to get the M64. Once we have the material in hand we can figure out the fabric, whether it is some kind of wool blend or cotton blend, etc. And I agree as well that by going the custom route you are in the proper place to do it per the original. going back to what JAFO said at the top of the thread, and without both uniforms in front of me to look over other than posted pics, are the M64s similar in appearance to the FO tunic?

Imperial Army Patches- WHO NEEDS THEM?
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Imperial Army Units
List is updated. if anyone recieves their patch order please post here and I can amend the list. -
In regards to custom, I havent been able to wear "off the shelf" or "miltary issue' since not long after I left it myself. Unless there is a source for these items in "big" sizes, anything I wear will need to be made from scratch. This is the only sizes I have found on the jacket, which is why people my size will need to make it from scratch. Ive been doing that for ten years with this club, so I guess Im sort of used to it. https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/belgian-m88-field-jacket-surplus/59147 Once a off the shelf item is found it that the Det agrees on for the CRL, weshould have a good supply for those that can fit it. And one can be pulled apart to draft a pattern for any other sizes needed.

Thats awesome man! congratulations ARMY TROOPER!

New CRL Proposal: Imperial Army Officer (Various Sources)
Blackwatch replied to izzi's topic in Imperial Army Officer
I cleaned up and purged extra characters from the CRL proposal. I also had to take a very close look at the top three ref images to find the button and panel. its almost as if the top of the coveralls are an officers coat and was buttoned all the way up unlike the Naval version which has hidden fasteners. Observation: The Wampa Wear tan jumpsuit is a very light tan. I am the reason it exists so I have the first, but its very light tan . it has the leg pockets and hidden chest pockes but not the panel feature. It does come with the standard mandarin collar. Discussion: Given that I have made about 22 Imperial Flight Suits I think it would be just as easy to get a tan work coverall (boiler suit) as the base. You would need a second suit to make the leg pockets from. The collar can be stood up, folded under and stitched in place to form the standing collar, and a modesty panel can be cut from scrap fabric. Or you could get a piece of similar tan fabric, use some interfacing, and stitch that i place to hold the collar firmly. Questions: Do we have a good picture of the back of the armor and its circuit plate design? would the plate be the same as used on the ATAT? ' Would the black and silver headset be the same used by the Imperial Navy Bridge Crewman? for consideration: https://www.amazon.com/Walls-Cotton-Coverall-Size-REGULAR/dp/B00K3421I2/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1530475154&sr=8-7&keywords=tan%2Bwork%2Bcoveralls%2Bcotton&th=1&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/Dickies-Mens-Basic-Cotton-Coverall/dp/B00MPD1KE0/ref=pd_sbs_193_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00MPD1KE0&pd_rd_r=46fc553d-7d69-11e8-890f-1dbcfc3af4d2&pd_rd_w=VGTJG&pd_rd_wg=1n7MR&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=5825442648805390339&pf_rd_r=6BRCQWETVP15HQG711CR&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&refRID=6BRCQWETVP15HQG711CR Adding this one. its a bigger chest for guys my size. I see these everyday becasue of all the plants we have here. The color is khaki, or as we see the in SW costume book. "light brown". https://www.feldfire.com/Lakeland-7-oz-100-FR-Cotton-Coveralls_p_7783.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwi8fdBRCVARIsAEkDvnJfSiDNV3EsbaxM_6NE3WB9Io2msqZO6i2XavPjmJQfL005Gu2GcR4aAkq6EALw_wcB- 89 replies

I have cleaned up excess characters that appeared when the server migrated. Please take a few minutes and review the proposal for spelling, gross errors, and if you are seeing any special characters either on your home monitor or phone, let us know. heres the link to page 1 http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/5797-new-crl-proposal-imperial-army-trooper-swe/
