  1. With the CRL changes for the Engineer coming , i pulled my patch tabs and front pockets off. The new leg cargo pockets will go on tonight.
  2. Its the automotive workwear brand CT10 coveralls. I can send you the collar conversion pattern if youll pm me your email. Youll need a second suit to cut up, i generally use a big chunk of one arm or legto make the collar. Mines 28" end to end when you lay it out to sew it.
  3. If it has not been already, the new CRL refects some changes and may affect the listed parts.
  4. i converted coveralls, which I have been doing for almost a decade. I started with Autoworkwear/ Dickies coveralls and used parts of another set to make my collar and pockets, based on the USMC base coverall layout. The butt pockets could be used for the upper thigh pockets seen on the USMC coverall, or, if the leg pockets are added, for that. I have used those on my RMMC Work uniform and they are easy enough to add. Making a set of leg pockets and the flap that goes over them would be no sweat and not even take a full afternoon to do. When I made mine I used the original collar cut in half folded and stitched for the flap that covers the chest pocket. My collar is made per my Legion Dets accepted flight suit tutorial, only adding the snap that none of the other black jumpstuits use. if anyone needs my collar mod template Ill be happy to Email it to you.
  5. just a heads up, i bought Lancer tactical airsoft goggles, and they are so massive the do not fit inside the helmet. the look fine outside, but Im VERY light senstive and plan to wear goggles as my sunglasses. Just be aware that the Lancers will not fit inside the helmet if you plan to wear them. Otherwise they are VERY inexpensive if they are going to stay on the helmet.
  6. if you want to go whole hog and get a second coverall to use as the materail (so it matches) for the collar, pockets and flap on the chest pocket Ill be happy to send you my collar template. Its been a resource for the JRS for many years and Ive sent my tutorial parts to JRS cadets around the world.
  7. i have used the Automotive Workwear model CT10 for the last eight years to make over two dozen pilot suits. you can take part of the leg off to make the tab collar and move the pockets up from the butt to the front. Check the shape on the Green Army type which uses the USMC coverall. Shoot me your Email and Ill send you the collar pattern. Always use those coupon codes they provide. https://www.automotiveworkwear.com/ https://www.automotiveworkwear.com/RedKap/CT10/coveralls.html
  8. This should be the correct material ://www.armynavysales.com/og-107-cotton-sateen-material-10-yards-og107ma-1847.html/
  9. Are these the only two images where the black uniformed troopers are seen?
  10. MOST of us have leather boots, and MOST have real Jacks, then there are those of us with really big landing gear and we have leather motorcycle boots. Of all the troopers I have known in ten years, only a very few had the pleather Funtasmia boots. Since the gloves difffer between the two, and its only a level difference based on , as you say material vs shape, I would concur.
  11. I found regular old vintage sateen by the yard. Its like shirt fabric. Some body had it on Etsy or Ebay.
  12. Thats what the sleeping bag carriers were made out of
  13. For myself I like the term Imperial Engineer for a helmeted version and Imperial Sapper for the soft cap version. Engineers are trained as Combat Engineers and that is their first function. reasoning: Different Armies call their combat engineers by different names but at least in US usage a Sapper is someone who has received the training as a combat engineer, but that is not their primary MOS. A red SAPPER skill tab is awarded. Discussion; In almost all regards this is the same uniform with the helmet goggles and gloves being the difference. The soft cap version is in most respects the easier to obtain and get up and running. In many cases people already have a hat or two. The listed short gloves are VERY cheap and easy to get and there is no lead time while a helmet is sourced, alongwith associated vendor wait time. Regarding the trooper with a backpack, the art for this looks somewhat different and as we have discussed in another thread the color can be construed as charcoal. While it can be argued that this is just a different trooper who happens to have a pack, more pouches on the belt and helmet/ goggles to me this leans towards a different trooper, as we see with Heavy weapons TKs. For sake of discussion Ill use the term Demolitions Trooper. For this demolitions trooper i see two paths: A: use charcoal coveralls as a base and write a new CRL around that including all elements as a one shot for basic approval. B : make the backpack shovel and additional pouches an option for the non armored helmeted Engineer.
  14. A lot of the text had been CCP from the Army trooper, i feel that since this is almost a color swap on all components , that the same ideas in use for the IAT would go along here. The only difference seen here is the olive tab over the green Army patch. Boots, gloves, snap on the mandarin collar and correct pocket and patch layout stand out to me as being the salient points on the higher levels of the uniform.
  15. Ok so you had to order six sizes up to get this to fit you? I cant find a size chart on the site. Are these like those Garrison shirts that dont fit? Ive ordered two of those that I cannot wear because the stated size was much smaller in real life. Im a weird shape and I normally wear a 56. Ive had to buy and ship back way too many things in the last ten years, would you suggest I get like a 62?
  16. Can you expand on the CDCR jumpsuit? I need one as well. I looked into dying a suit and I have a white cotton suit on hand, but dying a suit is always my LAST resort due to how it comes out and immediately starts fading when washed.
