  1. This should be the correct material ://www.armynavysales.com/og-107-cotton-sateen-material-10-yards-og107ma-1847.html/
  2. Are these the only two images where the black uniformed troopers are seen?
  3. MOST of us have leather boots, and MOST have real Jacks, then there are those of us with really big landing gear and we have leather motorcycle boots. Of all the troopers I have known in ten years, only a very few had the pleather Funtasmia boots. Since the gloves difffer between the two, and its only a level difference based on , as you say material vs shape, I would concur.
  4. I found regular old vintage sateen by the yard. Its like shirt fabric. Some body had it on Etsy or Ebay.
  5. Thats what the sleeping bag carriers were made out of
  6. For myself I like the term Imperial Engineer for a helmeted version and Imperial Sapper for the soft cap version. Engineers are trained as Combat Engineers and that is their first function. reasoning: Different Armies call their combat engineers by different names but at least in US usage a Sapper is someone who has received the training as a combat engineer, but that is not their primary MOS. A red SAPPER skill tab is awarded. Discussion; In almost all regards this is the same uniform with the helmet goggles and gloves being the difference. The soft cap version is in most respects the easier to obtain and get up and running. In many cases people already have a hat or two. The listed short gloves are VERY cheap and easy to get and there is no lead time while a helmet is sourced, alongwith associated vendor wait time. Regarding the trooper with a backpack, the art for this looks somewhat different and as we have discussed in another thread the color can be construed as charcoal. While it can be argued that this is just a different trooper who happens to have a pack, more pouches on the belt and helmet/ goggles to me this leans towards a different trooper, as we see with Heavy weapons TKs. For sake of discussion Ill use the term Demolitions Trooper. For this demolitions trooper i see two paths: A: use charcoal coveralls as a base and write a new CRL around that including all elements as a one shot for basic approval. B : make the backpack shovel and additional pouches an option for the non armored helmeted Engineer.
  7. A lot of the text had been CCP from the Army trooper, i feel that since this is almost a color swap on all components , that the same ideas in use for the IAT would go along here. The only difference seen here is the olive tab over the green Army patch. Boots, gloves, snap on the mandarin collar and correct pocket and patch layout stand out to me as being the salient points on the higher levels of the uniform.
  8. Ok so you had to order six sizes up to get this to fit you? I cant find a size chart on the site. Are these like those Garrison shirts that dont fit? Ive ordered two of those that I cannot wear because the stated size was much smaller in real life. Im a weird shape and I normally wear a 56. Ive had to buy and ship back way too many things in the last ten years, would you suggest I get like a 62?
  9. Can you expand on the CDCR jumpsuit? I need one as well. I looked into dying a suit and I have a white cotton suit on hand, but dying a suit is always my LAST resort due to how it comes out and immediately starts fading when washed.
  10. Sebastion did the work and the research and figured it all out. I just built the costume.
  11. I emailed WW again given our long history of working together. He is asking for better photos than what I sent him last night, which was the suit i put in my WIP. Ill be sending him photos of the original USMC coverall photos for clarity. If I could get the Det statff to weigh in on the color choice that would be SUPER helpful.
  12. Ok, so here is the final set of photos which we had to take in the front driveway because the ligth in the back of the house was fading fast. Corrections from my last set of photos: A: SewingJenny hat with correct greeblie with notch, vs my original Gina hat with standard disk. B: moved my belt up and redid my harness for better fit. C: painted my buckles on the boots dark metallic grey.
  13. When i was working on mine I got a LC 2 pack frame for it. I also have one of the BSA packs that the Endor and Hoth trooper packs are based on.
  14. i fixed my harness more to my liking, and I painted the buckles on my boots Tamiya metallic grey. If it is not storming tomorrow I plan to take new photos.
  15. Thank you And agreed I will take care of that tonight.
  16. I would concur with the use of WW and other prefab ready made suits with the removal of arm pockets for level 1 and using a converted suit for level 2 and 3.
  17. for con frfiendly ill make my shovel from foam and sintra. which pack frame is intended to be usd with this?
  18. i am seriusly digging this. When I was doing my trooper some years back I was figuring all this out on paper .... this looks SO much better than what I was doing !
  19. REVIEW PHOTOS for the Imperial Pioneer: Soft cap (missing greeblie notch detail, It was windy and I had to switch from my SewingJenny with the right notched disk to my old Gina hat with a standard disk) . Converted coveralls with four pockets, chest and lower front, snap on the mandarin collar. Imperial Army patches with olive green rocker tab. Patch and tab are spaced per the CRL reference photos. Short gloves with three lines on the back, no straps or buckles. TIE boots used with all my other uniforms. Black ALICE pistol belt, with three MA47 handcuff pouches and triple mag pouch, laid out per the CRL . Black webbing harness with ALICE hooks attaching it to the ALICE belt. Photos taken indoors, and outdoors, alongside TIEmlord TI11561.
