Some times it's like that. Some GMLs try to help people to get approved costumes, and some see it as a test to be passed. If you are dealing with the latter, just remember that you are worthy.

I'm imagining these parts all put together as is, and in my head it looks like the Bizarro version of the flametrooper

This is so exciting Ty. Keep going! Everything is approaching visualization for me, and it is looking promising.

Thorssen on the left and Animefan on the right. I much prefer the Animefan. It has a more accurate shape, the filters are sized better, and it just looks right to me.

I can start to picture this coming together more, and I'm invigorated!

Yep, Velcro under the armor pieces will keep them in place. I had the issue with the rivet as well, but filing it down a tad helped. You can place some foam like Steve said over the rivet and cover it with black duct tape. That will protect the foam from erosion too.

Exciting stuff Ty. Are you planning on printing the forearm details as well?

GattiRenata's Shadow Scout build - advice much appreciated
toddo replied to gattirenata's topic in Spec Ops Scout Armory
This build has gone quickly for sure Renata. I can't wait to see you in that scout. -
Uh-oh. Better meet-up for some bratwurst or something to iron that out

Which coveralls are you using? Some of us have had great luck with Red Kap.

I was a GML for several years, and was able to give feedback within 24 hours much of the time. It never took more than a week to get an answer to a member or perspective member. On the other hand, I have dealt with GMLs who take two weeks to answer an email. Politely ping the GML, after all, that is their job.
-
That's unusual. Ping your GML again.

Those are good leads on the 3D prints. I hadn't run across those yet. They look good to me at first glance. I'm curious to see what they look like printed of course. As for armor, I haven't seen any manifest yet. I had a guy working on pep files, but that lead went cold unfortunately.

Hey Amanda. Fear not. You can trim quite a bit actually. The forearms can be trimmed-down considerably. It is more important that they fit your arms well than contain a certain number of dimples. The chest can be trimmed quite a bit too. Also, the way that you strap the chest to the back can impact that. Shorten the distance between the two, and that will move your chest plate up. Deathmos30 is rather small and did some good work with her magma, so search for her build thread. Pandatrooper over at FISD has a nice tutorial for trimming-down a large suit to fit a small frame. Check that out as well.

What? Karin's out? That's a shame. I've seen tutorials on FISD about them, and I have had a pair of Trooperbay guards before, but nobody's are as spot-on as Karin's.

Congratulations Mike. Long-time coming, and well-earned.

Welcome back! Your nova work was inspirational to me in my early days. Several of us are working on flamey, but none of us is close yet. Check out what we have going on, feel free to contribute, and maybe you'll be the first.

Sorry about the snow and it's effects on both the con and your building. At least you can go play in it -

Currently these are not approved aspects for the shadow stormtrooper. The one featured in the game is based on ROTJ armor. Were a trooper to create a costume matching that, we could work together to create a CRL for that costume matching the game references including the cog and blue tubestripes. Until then, this variant will not be approved.

Mike is correct. Best to use vac-formed plastic.
