Below is a list of Vendors for the Spec Ops Scout Trooper variants that are in good standing with the Spec Ops Detachment. This list is not all inclusive and there are other Vendors that make items for Scout Troopers. Much of the list below has been shared with the permission of our fellow 501st Pathfinders troopers. Many thanks to them for allowing us to cross-post this list, thus avoiding a reinventing of the wheel. Should other Vendors provide us with their information we will update this list accordingly. Recommendations are welcome but will not be added to this list unless provided by the Vendor themselves. The Spec Ops Detachment does not endorse any Vendor over any others. It is up to you the Trooper to do the research and exercise due diligence when purchasing any products from Vendors. The Spec Ops Detachment does not get involved in any disputes that a customer may have with a Vendor and even though these Vendors are considered to be in “Good Standing,” it is not uncommon for issues to arise that must be worked out between the buyer and seller. The Spec Ops Detachment endorses a “Buyer Beware” philosophy on any and all transactions. The pic is tough to make out for me but from what I can see it seems good

Nice! Not sure of any further progress on your suit, but be sure to add riding patches on the inner thighs and the butt flap. faux leather for level one but real suede for level two
-
indeed. hopefully i will have them soon by “upgrade the shoulder strap” what do you mean?

Hi James! When the CRL was updated, the model actually redesigned the bandolier based on some more accurate details we saw in the comic panels and he created 3D files for it which he intended to donate which would be what you need if you have access to a printer or know someone who does. Ive reached out to him to see if he can still do that. Im the meantime, I can share a screenshot of the design and give you some measures. He designed it all approx.: 5cm wide There is an approx 1.5 thick slit in each piece about (see attached pic) to run strap through. Thats a Level 2 requirement if you are going for Specialist. The slit is approx 2-3 cm wide…needs to fit the strap without allowing the boxes to slide/shift too much. Each individual piece varies in height and I dont have those measures at the moment. First pic is the flat look you requested. Second shows the slit I am talking about. Hope this helps a little.

Never seen a response like that. So were you able to figure out the helmet trimming? As far as the dome assembly your best bet is to heat and bend some abs strips to mount on the interior of the dome to hold the 2 pieces together. Then bondo/fill the seam. Want to work that seam as much as possible to conceal it. After thats set you can move on to the visor (similar technique). One thing...on the interior of the dome I fiberglassed over the abs strip as well. Prob not necessary but I wanted some additional reinforcement though it did add some weight as well.

These should work for recoloring TK boots back to a white as well (i had to remove weathering but not all of it came off)? Thanks for the suggestions!

Random Updates (no pics): -Installed TK knee plate (removed Sandtrooper knee plate) -Installed right thigh ammo using split rivets. -Finished removing previously installed shin shims. -Trimmed clone belt. Will order canvas belt once I finish the ab/strapping so I can get proper size. -Started painting this weekend. Hopefully weather is good so I can start re-strapping this up asap.

Knives Update: KNIVES!!! 3D printed by my dude @ShadowDriver using the files designed by @Fivezero These were printed using the original specs and will used for the chest and thigh sheaths. Size-wise they did feel small (at least for my hands) and so I will have a couple slightly larger ones printed to hold while trooping. Will need to smooth out lines and paint.

Abdomen Update: This is going to be the most challenging mod. Initially, I tried to just fill everything with bondo. It didn’t work. Extremely heavy and the bondo would not adhere well particularly around the edges. Easily cracked. So I did just that and cracked all of it off and hit the reset button. So then I tried a similar method as @darthRivera but less invasive because I am just not as brave lol. Trimmed out all of the raised details. Added plastic behind the armor. This will allow for less use of filler material...meaning less weight (though it will still be heavier than a standard TK ab). Disregard the interior bits...may have to redo some of that. Then I started filling using this instead of bondo... This was suggested by a local friend. It works just like bondo but adheres much better to the plastic and is lighter. It also has some flexibility which will resist cracking (hopefully) while trooping. And so...I’ve started filling/sanding and will post pics when this portion is finished.

Chest Update: Attached newly ordered shoulder straps (previous kit being a Sandtrooper did not have any).

@darthRivera ooooo those snaps in the art are tinyeeeee!!! good find. so yea just the pauldron that i see and making sure everything is fitted up good when ya shoot the pics again but really...id hold off till we get into the draft just in case anything else comes up as we compare to references. -
I've sorted the reference pictures thread by issue arc to separate the different versions. I should also have some update pictures shortly on my progress.

Sergeant Kreel WIP. Comic Star Wars (2015) Issue #59&60
RAIDER replied to darthRivera's topic in Sergeant Kreel
Man @darthRivera I'm so pumped to see this! I've been working on my stuff as well for Cav since recovering and only have the ab and belt to finish before I can start strapping. Anyways... Overall I feel like you've nailed it! I only see a 2 things that really stick out to me (though I would want to marinate and review this a couple more times over): 1) The folding/creasing of the pauldron. I really feel like this should be tightened/smoothed. 2) The hanging hip pouch...I don't see any evidence of visible snaps. It looks like you have 2 silver snaps showing on both the front and back part of the strap. If there's a way to connect that or at the very least conceal those snaps (maybe even paint them black if it isn't possible to hide them), then that should probably be done. Other than that, I think the build is good...there might be some things we can examine when we go through the CRL text as far as what should be Level 1 and Level 2 as some ANH TK details aren't necessarily present in the artwork...but that's not anything I think needs adjusting. WELL DONE!!! -
Sergeant Kreel WIP. Comic Star Wars (2015) Issue #59&60
RAIDER replied to darthRivera's topic in Sergeant Kreel
Man I was sick w/ Covid and totally missed this. Let me take a look. On a side note, I added all of the Kreel references across every issue to the reference pictures thread and sorted them by issue arc to separate out the different variants. On my end there's an issue w/ some pictures though @IcyTrooper that I can't get fixed for some reason. -
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!!!

I havent followed the ICAT. im assuming those tunics had no cog? i would only say that as far as “lore” the timeline of solo is a decent ways ahead of the mandalorian...and so im not sure it’s a fair conclusion to say whats on the icat HAS to match we saw the cog in solo. thats our primary reference for the mudtrooper crl, not the mando...and i wouldnt push for a removal of the cog for that reason. my 2 cents

if u could....elaborate please?

Rock and a hard place lol. I have a feeling it will work out. Looks like @Chaos gave you a few solid work-arounds that could possibly pan out. -
Nice @Chaos!

Sergeant Kreel WIP. Comic Star Wars (2015) Issue #59&60
RAIDER replied to darthRivera's topic in Sergeant Kreel
Yup. That info is a bit dated in that most dets (like ours) will facilitate the NTTL process for you. The statement these days mostly relates to costumes that have no detachment home to build the CRL alongside. You wont have to do much other than help draft the text here and then take pics. CRL peeps will take care of the rest for you -
Sergeant Kreel WIP. Comic Star Wars (2015) Issue #59&60
RAIDER replied to darthRivera's topic in Sergeant Kreel
Im impressed! If I was being extremely critical, I would say that the rectangular area seems too wide and potentially those might be round “lights” in the center instead of square etched details...hard to tell. And then finally the end where the saber would come out seems longer (thicker) than the reference. That silver area seems to not be as long and doesnt have the etched ring around the lip as well...at least from the references I see here. But yea thats about it but Im pretty impressed by the work. Well done! PS I dont know Sith CRLs well. are sabers required or optional pieces? -

Are you using anything underneath the straps to keep them from sliding up and down the arm/leg? -
