  1. good question. the details of the crl are anh details and so it’s implied. rogue one armor will have details in most parts that will not align w/ the crl. examples...engraved blue tube stripes on helmet, beveled cover strips, shoulder straps inserting into chest plate etc. you will need to get a traditional tk kit to do a shadow. hope that helps
  2. Ty what was the name of the paing u used for boots? I need to repaint tk boots back to white. Link? Thx!
  3. he has a fb page n website. fb page is under that name. here is his website https://www.chefscreations.co.uk/
  4. several. tho a friend just messaged me a couple weeks ago that they will still pull in black. check again w em maybe? rs props (most “accurate” to the screen scout but more pricey) chefs creation (my personal preference) far away creations kropserkel if theyre still doing business those are a few at least
  5. Updated original post and reference pictures thread (though they may need sorting by issue to separate the different variants).
  6. First picture updates... I started the bondo work on the chest to smooth it out per the references which should give it a more solid mounting area for the knife sheaths. Here are some progress pics. Not quite done yet. Need to put some filler in some spots, then prime and paint. @nanotek If you can assist…I copied links and pasted and hit enter but pics aren't showing. Other than this chest update, here are other general updates. -Cleaned off all of the TD weathering on all parts. Boots, I couldn't get it all off, but this trooper I think will have some weathering to it along with the cuts and battle damage and so will get some feedback later on whether I need to paint boots or can leave as is. -Trimmed out the arm parts a bit more to fit my muscular arms (hahaha). -Constructed thighs (waiting on last cover strip to dry). -Cleaned up the chest trim job as well. -The shins had some weird shim construction to them. Going to need to redo those. -The previous builder also did some ab-to-kidney plate suspender system I have never seen before and so I will need to remove that and restrap. -Ordered replacement shoulder straps and TK knee plate to replace the TD work. When those arrive, can finish off the shin and will need to restrap the chest/back. -Ordered an animated clone belt (which will need some slight modification)…once I have that in hand and can get some measurements on it, I will order a canvas belt to mount it to. -Ordered leather knife sheaths for chest and thigh and 2 medium Spanish pouches (with a custom tab). - @Fivezero has graciously stepped up to help 3D model the unique left shoulder bell and knives. (THANKS!) I think that's it…going to start uploading the primary and secondary references now.
  7. Specialist means you build with the extra details found on the CRL (the blue text) in mind. There a variety of things but all of it is found in the CRL Level 2 blue text standards.
  8. Starting a WIP thread here. This build wont be a start-to-finish project as I picked up a nearly-complete Sandtrooper ATA kit that I will be modifying. Once all of the weathering is cleaned off and I finish building the thighs, I will start posting pics along with some of my research from the comic panels. This will be interesting as I’ve only built 3 costumes that had prior CRLs (Shadow Scout, TK, and TD) and I am doing the groundwork research from a slew of inconsistent comic panels. Helmet/Armor - ATA Armor Works Chest/Abdomen/Shoulders - 3D Printed Clone Belt Armor - Imperial Surplus TK Canvas Belt - Imperial Issue Thermal Detonator - Anovos Boots - Imperial Boots Neck Seal - Trooperbay Undersuit - Dr. Skin (Amazon) Gloves - Dishwasher Gloves/Nomex Flight Gloves (Amazon) Sheaths/Pouches - Darman’s Props (Custom) Knives - 3D Printed @Fivezero E-11 - DoopyDoo EDIT: Cav's armor (along with all of SCAR Squadron) progresses/evolves as the timeline progresses. While some parts maintain consistency throughout, there are some noticeable differences. In particular, Cav has a bionic arm that would be difficult to replicate in a costume. HOWEVER, in Issues #59-61, Cav's arm is covered in standard TK armor, so these panels will be the primary references for my build (and eventual CRL proposal (and will pull details as necessary from secondary references/panels though that will be minimal if at all): Anyways, the goal is Celebration Anaheim ‘22!!! Let the fun begin...
  9. Star Wars by Marvel Comics (Issues #19-26): Star Wars by Marvel Comics (Issues #36-37) Star Wars by Marvel Comics (Issues #59-61) Star Wars: The Storms of Crait by Marvel Comics (Issue #1)
  10. Yup we have been at it here for about3 years now lol
  11. Gratz team amd @Hoda! Well done! IATs have an officer once again!
  12. @DashNolan You should submit a Specialist application to see how close you are.
  13. If you go here you will see 3 pinned Mudtrooper builds that should be very helpful. https://forum.specops501st.com/forum/151-mudtroopers/
  14. I agree w @Fivezero. the bell angle doesnt look as “steep”. also i think u can extend it a tad over the shoulder strap but with a curve out if that makes sense
  15. It looks good. if theres a way to clean up the edges and sharpen the edges i think ud have it nailed 100% anxious to see it all together
  16. Nice! Itd be sweet to get this one “greenlit” finally. The last holdover lol
  17. It might be more work than you want to attempt, but some mechanism that u attach to the bell (rivets, snaps etc) that allow the cover to “float” and swivel so you can have some shoulder mobility would be sweet
  18. I think due to the “version” of Kreel you have chosen in those particular issues, I would say follow those references which means you will NOT use a pauldron but instead some custom shoulder bell cover. As far as material that is hard to say. A matte orange plastic cover over the bell or leather
  19. Im talking about the teeth being black. I know gray is acceptable ...im suggesting a repaint to black to match the black pauldron. but again just a suggestion
  20. a suggestion too dash...take a look at the crl model...but id recommend the black frown w the pauldron
  21. I think you are right on the fasteners. Its a minor detail but seems consistent in the art and I think we could allow for 2 fasteners for Level 1 in the CRL but make 4 fasteners the Level 2 requirement. Great find! Interestingly the belt buttons are not consistent nor the angled belt corners lol
  22. And just to triple verify...everything aligning with the IAT 100% is aligned?
