Star Wars Battlefront (2004): Phase 0 Dark Trooper CRL Discussion
RAIDER replied to Darth Emphatic's topic in Dark Troopers
I think the greeblie look is ok. I'm not sold on the color. In my opinion it should be adjusted BUT other takes are welcome. One extra note (as Level 2 maybe), the "bolts" in bottom areas of those recessed valleys around the trapezoids...I def see those in the reference. I do not see the one above the greeblie however. Check me on that. -
Star Wars Battlefront (2004): Phase 0 Dark Trooper CRL Discussion
RAIDER replied to Darth Emphatic's topic in Dark Troopers
Ok…this line is hanging me up (just took me alot of reads to figure out what we were referring to…I imagine a GML reviewing this would probably end up the same): The black center section of the jump pack is flat at the top, slants at an angle towards the middle of the jump pack before flattening out. After the flattened section it slants towards the posterior armor to the bottom of the jump pack. The following details are present: Then this line mentions the greeblie. 2 questions…the center greeblie has a color specified? I cannot make it out in the reference images…and I see @Blue Hatter seems to have given his a color. What is seen in the references? And…does the greeblie have texture details? Again, I cannot make it out in the references but it appears the kit @Blue Hatter has does have something there. The angled slant from the top has a rectangle in the center with recessed black areas on all sides of the rectangle. As it levels out there is another horizontal rectangular greeblie detail until the next slanted area. And this line…I'm not certain what it's referencing. Just before the rockets on each there is a recessed rectangular section that is gray on each side of the black center section. I think in general it might be helpful to provide a diagram breakdown of some sort to help w/ the pack…for the gallery…as there are other parts as well that are wordy, BUT I'm not sure how you could describe it otherwise. -

These 3 seem to be some of the better images we get of the pack colors. Posting here so I have something to look at as I review. -

Helmet looks well painted indeed! Check ur elevator bolts...those should be blue-gray, different from the snout. may be lighting but rear traps are black yes?

RAIDER replied to Darth Emphatic's topic in Dark Troopers
Thanks @IcyTrooper I will take some time tomorrow to examine the colors to the references (tho colors are not my strong suit) along with the other details. Trapezoidagon is a word though? If so I just learned something new lol -
Yup that will work just fine! Welcome!

Great WIP man! With your permission, I'd like to adjust the title just a bit and pin this to the top of our Army Trooper forum area. Let me know if that is ok. Thanks again!!!

POLL: Crimson Stormtrooper/Magma Trooper Rename
RAIDER replied to RAIDER's topic in Crimson Stormtrooper
As with all CRL updates, previously approved troopers maintain membership and are not required to update their costume. -
Congrats Paul!

Not sure what you mean specifically by “spec sheet” but you should be following the CRL requirements if your goal is 501st approval. https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_shadow_stormtrooper For the belt...when I built my TK i replaced the Anovos canvas with a belt by Rob Kittel.

haha thx! yea i wanted to make a trip out there this season...but ya know 2020 n all...and man ticket prices for them are skyhigh.

Star Wars Battlefront (2004): Phase 0 Dark Trooper CRL Discussion
RAIDER replied to Darth Emphatic's topic in Dark Troopers
We cannot use your model as a reference point. As for what category the plates would fall under, I will let @IcyTrooper address that. -
From what I can see, everything looks good for basic approval. Truthfully with some minor tweaks you could probably get this to Level 2 fairly easily.
-
Congrats @Hoda!!! Looking forward to seeing your Specialist application!

is it possible the pieces are not paired up correctly? i think if ur going to use wider cover strips and/or shims u should do that in the back. i had a squad mate do that with his thighs...id have to see if i can find an example for shins/calves

Star Wars Battlefront (2004): Phase 0 Dark Trooper CRL Discussion
RAIDER replied to Darth Emphatic's topic in Dark Troopers
Looking at that above (and the texture reference shows similar) it looks like it's more like the ESB TK shell hand plate (clone hand plates are more angular if I remember correctly)…HOWEVER…there is no texture there really. It's smooth all the way. The question would be, is that intentional or is that just cutting back (or limitations of) the design textures? We could demand a totally smooth hand plate at Level 1 OR allow the readily available ESB plate for Level 1 while requiring a smooth shell plate for Level 2. Thoughts? -

I think this is the best angle of the hand plate we have. -
Congrats @SpaceWelder and welcome to Spec Ops! Love the pic and have shared it with our PR team
-
congrats @Kessel!!! if u think u might be close to Level 2 you should try for specialist approval.

Kevin might not be readily available...but he purchased from Chef's Creations I believe. HOWEVER...we are reworking the CRL for an update and Kevin has actually done a more accurate 3D model. Hopefully he will make that available once we can get his pictures taken and the CRL updated.

Additionally moved detonator to optional per references.
