Troopers. Lets not get off track here. We will begin at the beginning, just as we did with the Army version. The small components will be discussed only when we have finalized the discussion of all major components. Once those are cleared and locked, we will move on, BUT NOT BEFORE THEN.

We have a pretty thorough discussion here of all aspects of it, including our reference images page. I have been seeing some makers out there that are trying to make this coat and basing it off of a commercial utility/ sport jacket and they are getting a lot of details wrong including the correct fabric and its texture. Buyer beware.

Troopers As we move forward and finalize our CRL and attempt to gather more vendors for soft goods, I ask for good close up photos of your soft parts. We need pics in great light, maybe outside, that shows the texture and weave of the fabric. This will ultimately become part of the Gallery feature to help people with their new builds. Can you also let us know who made it, if you went through a vendor, or if you made it yourself and what fabric you used.

All of my harnesses are tucked and tight. There shouldnt be any loose ends visible. I never noticed it was laid out like that on the images, it certianly isnt depicted that way in the art. I would say for L2 make sure all your straps are tucked, hidden and tight, with nothing flopping around. Thats standard field discipline.

Its just part of the belt to help hold the two parts close together. Not all belts have them.

My fasteners are there but the way that I have my pouches set up you dont see them. You could unsnap them and tuck them behind for the L2 pics. That is the correct style of belt buckle. I had the original A.L.I.C.E buckle and I had to swap it out for a side release buckle for my L2 approval. Tje belts that are being approved for Specialist are the type shown on the CRL page, with the typical "frog" holes. Belts without holes are good for approval for L1. Yes absolutly, the CRL even states that for l1 holes are allowed, which means not mandatory.

The belt itself and pouches are still there. Per our L2 you can wear it above or below the pistol belt.

Im in South Louisiana and I troop in my Hoth gear outdoors in the summer. I hear ya.

oh wow thats unforatunate, but tbh now that you have used vinegar on teh fabric I do not know that it would absorb the dye at the same rate. I tried that with a Jawa and it completely changed the shade. This is one of the main reasons Ill be doing the black uniform.

Hello Shane welcome to the forum! Do us a HEWJ favor so you can get a bit more access, and make sure to make a new post at the recruit welcome topic. AFA the scarf, I would look at blanket material. Cashmere sounds odd, but start looking at blankets. I jus looked at her images again and its a fairly tight weave, not loose and open and not hairy like cashmere. You may even find some blizzard fleece, or even try dying blizzard fleece, to that shade.

you are in the same light, I think you have the color spot on.

Thats how a shadow trooper would normally do it however if you look at the CRL pic the belt is a typical Officer style leather belt with the plastic part added. I looked for specialist applications to look at and there arent any so far. Please have a look at this topic for reference.

looks like 1.5" smooth leather to me, but I could be wrong. There is a triglide with sliding bar at the mid point for adjustment.

Shayan do you have a source for those? I would really like to add them to my own coat, my belt shifts all over the place.

yeah it seems like they have almost like batwings behind the front plate. My 3d parts from Mudtrooper.UK arent shaped this way, its different so I need to get the new updated files so I can make this to match. Im curious if Walt will change the mold, which I kind of doubt but I may be wrong.

Im used to wearing good old fashioned BDUs, and I just got a brand new pair to convert to BSG deck tans. They are definitely stiff! When you dye something it gets really stiff, it eventualy breaks down and gets comfortable. when I make a new pair of Endor Commando Trooper pants they are almost stiff enough to stand up int he corner, after all those layers of flower paint that gets put on.

the parts overlap each other, not sure what to do about the kit, I dont have one, but before the trooper flips in the RIX road scene you can see where the parts overlap, and Bozzy is working on redoing the 3d print files so they overlap this way. You may be able to add a slab on the backside of one of the parts to make this feature.

Good idea, and I like that its denim. How warm is it to wear? I want the black Rix Road version without armor.

i only got the one pic, it was a crazy busy weekend with probably more troopers and Mercs than we have had at any single event since I joined in 08. Lafette Comic Con, we also did a fundraiser for the Make a Wish Foundation. it was two solid days of trooping. I need to make myself a welding unit, the welder from Aliens would be perfect.

Eric when I first joined you saw more of the no-- groove style Mitchell style greeblies than with the grooves. People were turning these in aluminum, or even back in those days stacking washers, and then making casts of them. I just found a whole scad of the casts I made all those years ago, with no grooves or center dimple. now you are ready for your E10.5 blaster!

Plus we need a CRL photo of the hooks on the tunic. Just sayin'
